What a terrific love story. This book was right up my alley of historical romance novels. It had romance. Suspense. Mystery. Betrayal. And revenge. A mixture of it all. The plot was excellent. It was well crafted for how the story was to play out for Selena, Gerald and his family. My favorite parts are the scenes when Gerald and Selena explore the passionate desires that they have for each other. Talk about getting overheated. Well this story was the talk of the Season. I enjoyed reading so much. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on!

Being a true young entitled buck in England he had to try out his luck at a date. Only has was caught by no less than his fiancee and his parents. Now banished ro "grow-up" he finds purpose in his life. Several years later he has grown up and found purpose only to be thrown as the protector of his fiancée.
Wonderfully fascinating and exciting . I really enjoyed this book as a new to me author. I shall keep an eye out for her new novels. This is a sweet where all romance is behind closed doors.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with guidelines.

this was another winner in the Rakes of Mayhem series, it had that element that I was looking for and was engaged with the concept and characters. The overall feel worked with the other books in this series. Anna St. Claire has a strong writing style and was glad I got to read this.

Viscount Gerald Lawrence won a bet and lost his betrothed. Years later, Lady Selena Bowles is on the run for her life. An imposter, pretending to be her father's heir, becomes violent and plans to abduct her to Gretna Green. Devastated that he also poisoned her mother, she must escape and get to Gerald to protect her. An accident causes her to lose part of her memory. Gerald was cut off years ago after embarrassing his and her family. Now a successful horse breeder, he realizes he made a mistake losing Selena. A love story with villains on the loose. Closed bedroom door with kisses only between Selena and Gerald. Some violence.

Scandal Separated Them; Danger United Them; Would Love Keep Them Together?
Gerald was engaged to Selena, but his scandalous behavior would see him being sent off away from London. Four years later, he was a changed man.
Selena's life was transformed since the scandal with her fiancé. She would see her father die and a new relative inherit the viscountcy. She would also find her life in peril. In desperation, she would seek her betrothed. However, an injury would cause her to lose her memory. This meant that she did not remember the scandal her fiancé caused. She would find herself falling in love with him. Could regaining her memory cause her to stop loving the man she got to know?
Danger was coming. Could Selena escape the diabolical plot that her evil relative was planning? For the answer, you must read this entertaining tale. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to those who like Regency romance with mystery and suspense. I look forward to reading what comes next in this series.

A lovely story about a typical arranged match between two children and the rebellion that occurs. What isn’t typical is the next five years between the two. Interesting storyline and characters!
I received a free copy of this book from the author. The thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the first modern regency romance I have ever read, and it was a delight!
The novel is great as a stand alone, but I’ll likely go back and read more of the series.
One of the things I liked most about this book, especially when compared with other literature, was that it has the setting of a regency story, but it had modern writing. I didn’t have to reread sentences over and over to translate them into modern English in my head!
To Win a Viscount’s Heart had a little bit of suspense but for the most part was a nice fluffy love story about an arranged couple that got off to a rocky start, but found their way back to each other through unfortunate circumstances.
Gerald Lawrence starts out as a bit of a playboy, but through real responsibility becomes a dependable and loyal man. Selena Bowles grows from a meek girl into a woman with quiet courage and a strong intuition. I loved seeing their relationship develop and strengthen through trials and quality time. Their shared passions and kind disposition towards all those around them made them a couple you want to root for.
The ensemble cast was also a delight to read. Connery and Mrs. Bowles had lovely POVs, and even the despicable Vern added flavor to the story.

This fifth book of The Rakes of Nayhem was a complex, shocking, very engaging, and well written romance. A bet Hine wrong leads to a drastic banishment, also to a good change in life. Years later, a dastardly plot brings forth utter chaos and terrible traumatic and fearful incidents. The plot twists, turns, and surprises of who had perished or not, poisonings, kidnappings, daring escapes, rescues, amnesia, a fire, and so many emotional issues and excitement that kept me highly entertained. I really enjoyed the love of family, the beautiful romance, and the perfect ending for everyone! I highly recommend reading!

Viscount Gerald Lawrence was once a notorious rake, but five years after being cut off by his father due to a scandalous kiss, he has transformed into a responsible and respected man. Now running a successful horse racing and breeding facility and having renovated his family's run-down property, Gerald's life takes another turn when Lady Selena Bowles re-enters it.
Selena, once Gerald's innocent fiancée, has escaped a dangerous relative who poisoned her mother and now threatens her inheritance. Seeking refuge with Gerald, she arrives at his estate, only to be thrown off her stallion by Gerald's dog, resulting in amnesia. Selena has no memory of Gerald, her past, or the events that led her to his doorstep in a rainstorm.
As Selena navigates her amnesia and builds a bond with Gerald, they confront their past and the dangers threatening Selena's life. Together, they must untangle a web of deception and fight for a future filled with trust, redemption, and love.
The author, known for her captivating storytelling and richly developed characters, continues to impress with this engaging and emotional historical romance. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this story! I was a little hesitant in the beginning because I saw in the blurb on Goodreads that it was a sweet romance. I haven’t read a sweet romance in quite some time, but I didn’t miss the spice at all when I was reading this.
I loved Gerald and Selena! I loved their chemistry and loved watching them fall in love with each other! I loved the change we saw in Gerald from the very beginning of the story!
There is quite a bit of suspense in this book and that adversary mentioned in the blurb is a real piece of work! I loved how Anna wrote and made you hate them!
This was the first book I read from Anna St. Claire and even though it’s the last book in the series, I had no problem understanding what was happening in the story.
Thank you NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for the advance copy of this book.

When a foolish bet with his friends resulted in Viscount Gerald Lawrence being banished to an estate in Derbyshire, he changed his rakish ways, worked with the estate manager to make the estate livable and profitable. Lady Selena Bowles was at the time of the bet, Gerald’s betrothed. Four years later, she arrives at his door on the run from her terrifying cousin who inherited her father’s title. Cold and injured from a fall, Selena has lost her memory. While spending time together during her recovery, they get to know each other and find they attracted and have much in common. This story is a lovely romance, but that romance is shadowed by lies, stolen identity, betrayal, and other dangers from outside sources. There are plot twists, several surprises (including a second romance), and finally, a happy ending. All of the characters, except the villains of course) were likeable. The book is well-written, fast-paced, and entertaining. An enjoyable read.
I received a special copy of this book via NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it.

A second chance at love, will it work this time. The book picks up, 5 years after Gerald's and Selenas engagement come to a crashing halt. Selena now injured and with amnesia, turns up at Gerald's doorstep. He is now more mature, responsible and has put his rake days behind. As they fall in love again, they have to face threats to Selenas life.
Throw in some mystery and romance and you get this book, which was enjoyable to read.

Whew what a ride! I was intrigued by the description and it was so much better than the teaser!
We have Gerald very young and engaged in a bet with his “friends” to spend some intimate moments with a married lady and the hostess of a party! She already had her time with his friends! What an appetite!
Gerald is exposed in the tryst by his father, mother and his betrothed the Honorable Selena Bowles who was very young at the time about 16 almost 17 years of age!
Gerald is banished to a property without money and told to make something of himself for his embarrassing and disgraceful behavior!
Gerald found himself and it was the making of him! He despised being forced to marry and gave very little thought to Selena Bowles!
Selena never forgot her handsome betrothed but endured several changes over the next 5 years.
Once her father passed their estate was put in the hands of an odious cousin but all is not what it seems!
There are several shocks in the story not the least of two people presumed dead are not!
That was one shock of many! If you like fast pace action with a hero that definitely grew into the man he needed to be then read on…
I love the tenacity and bravery of both characters especially Selena who would not accept defeat! Bravo well done!

This is a well written, entertaining sweet romance.
Gerald was sent to one of his father's estates after an indiscretion. Four years later, he is a changed man when his fiancée Selena shows up injured.
The chemistry between Gerald and Selena is wonderful and sweet.
There are many interesting secondary characters, some villains' and quite a few twists and turns throughout the story. Sprinkle that with some cute fun animals and it makes for a very fun read.

The was a cute love story that also featured a secondary romance and a loyal dog. Selena and Gerald were betrothed as children. When they initially met as adults, it did not go very well. Basically, Gerald was a rake who needed to grow up. Five years later, they got their second chance. Gerald had changed and regretted his shabby earlier treatment of Selena. Unfortunately, she had suffered a head injury and did not realize who he was. The reformed Gerald did everything he could to aid in Selena's recovery. He also needed to slay a dragon or two. This book had a happy ending with good feelings all around.
I received a free ARC from NetGalley and this is my honest review.

Everything that was meant to be will fall into place very neatly. He had some growing up to do and she has an impostor to escape from. With family and friends surrounding you for support, nothing is impossible. Feel good story and enjoyable read.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and leaving my review voluntarily.

I have enjoyed this series and found this lovely romance both fast-paced and suspenseful. Having disgraced himself, Gerald is sent off to a derelict estate that requires hard work and dedication to put it to rights. Despite his anger with his father for exiling him, he discovers the joy of seeing his efforts bearing fruit, as well as an affinity for horse breeding. He has all but forgotten about his betrothed until she is bucked off her horse at his doorstep, and suffers a concussion. He questions whether or not it is a good thing when she comes to with no memory of who she is and why she is in a strange place. As Gerald pieces together the reason for Selena's flight to his estate, it becomes clear that his emotions are more involved than he anticipated. He is willing to do everything in his power to protect her from the danger that stalks her. Both Gerald and Selena are hiding secrets and they are surprised at the acceptance they received from one another when they confess them. Although it would seem that the villain initially wins the day, the plot comes to an excellent conclusion with justice being served and the betrothed couple finding joy in each other. I received a copy of this warmhearted romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This is a sweet story that begins with a betrayal from the immature Gerald. The conflict in the story introduces us to Selena. She and Gerald begin a new relationship that overcomes their hardships and past. They both show strength and strong character in order to find their happy ending.

A damsel in distress, a horrible villain, a reformed rake/knight in shining armor, a plot and a sub plot, children and amazing animals! What more could you want in a story! Fabulous! Enjoyable, engaging and sweet, the kind of story for teens and anyone who doesn't want the detailed steam. Serena is a damsel in distress with a gift for communication with animals. Her mother is a lovely lady with grit. Gerald is the cinnamon knight along with his trusty dog and a few others who make this story so worthwhile reading. There are even some extra characters who just might get their own stories. The fifth book in the series which can easily be read as a stand alone.

Well written, full of drama, action, adventures, action, villains, society, love and intrigue. Gerald is a Lord, his father carries the title that one day he will inherit but as so many young men, he loves to take a challenge or bet. So he bets with his friends that anyone of them will have a chance with the Lady of the ball. Everything is going his way to winning until he is caught by his parents, his fiance and her parents. At the time he is sent away to get his life together and as his father said to grow up. After five years, Selina needs help, her father has passed and the new heir is abusive. She remembers that Gerald and his parents were friends to her father and hopes that they may help her. She feels that her cousin has poisoned her mother and she is told to run away for help. She is told that her mother has died so one night she takes her horse and rides for help. Thinking to go to London but the storm prevents her and she heads for Gerald's home. She finds help there yet is still in danger due to her cousin. Has lots of action and surprises to keep you turning the pages. Would strongly recommend to everyone.
