This book is the story of Mr Squirrel, who panics when a wheel of cheese lands in his tree. Mistaking it for the Moon, he panics and thinks that he'll be accused of stealing the Moon and so begin his efforts to return it back to where it came from.
This was a sweet, charming book for young children who will enjoy Mr Squirrel's efforts to put things right, despite the animals around him not helping the situation. Meschenmoser manages to add lots of funny, charming details to his illustrations which I think readers will enjoy spotting.
Great illustrations make this a fun book for children. 4 stars.

This was a cute book, nothing extra, but cute. I think I liked the newer one that recently came out a bit better.

Delightful bedtime story for young children. The squirrel is a unique choice of animal for this book. Given the inquisitive and rambunctious nature of squirrels make it a wonderful choice for the book. One can almost visualize the furry tail and anxious energy while attempting to return the moon to its rightful place.
