This book was such a deep and emotional book. The friendship in this book was very touching and I grow to love the main characters so much!

This book surprised me in the best way possible. I went into it expecting it be a light and easy read, but it was that and so much more.

The book touches on deep themes such as mental health, illness and the complexity of friendship and family. The main characters Laine and Sutton had such a beautiful bond that truly did best friends to lovers justice. I loved the fake dating aspect as the banter was so fun to read!

I'm so excited to read more of Florence Fields works, and this book is one I'll be thinking about for a while.

An opposites attract, fake dating romance, the story of Laine and Sutton. They meeting in New York and he is her reluctant tutor, but as they spend more time together they are best friends. Fake dating to attend his brothers wedding, what will happen next? I liked how it was told from both points of view, and look forward to the next book in this series.

I’m not usually a fan of fade to black romances and it’s my own fault that I did not see that stated in the description. Therefore, I will not be reviewing this book on Goodreads to ensure the author isn’t unfairly given a negative review when it was due to my own fault.

I thought it was interesting how this book kind of had the vibes of starting at the end. Like they get the degree, they get the dream jobs and then it starts to explore their relationship.
I love a friends to lovers romance. It dealt with the topic of grief really well and I love this couple together.

This book was SPECIAL! I reread book one to prep for this one (I wanted to see where the characters were introduced, which was in the epilogue of book 1 fyi 😆). I loved everything about it, from how confident and indecisive Laine is to how much Sutton just wanted to be around her 🫶

I love their friendship it was so natural and then them both falling for one another but not wanting to say anything which then turned into them fake dating for his brothers wedding.

When they finally admit that they want to be together, another bomb is dropped that shatters Sutton so he does his best to push Laine away. This part was so intense I may have cried a smidge but don’t worry we get our HEA and it was perfect!

This is a closed door romance, with two perfect for each other characters! I love how #florencefields brought these two characters to life! Once I started it I couldn’t put it down, so be ready to binge this adorable, cute, and swoony love story!

Florence Fields delivers a deeply moving romance that beautifully explores grief, healing, and the power of second chances. Laine and Sutton’s journey completely stole my heart—Sutton’s struggles with anxiety and depression felt so raw and real, and Laine’s unwavering support as his anchor was simply breathtaking. Their connection felt so genuine, and the slow-burn romance had me hooked from page one.

The fake dating trope brought such a fun, lighthearted contrast to the emotional depth of the story. What truly made this book special were the vulnerable, deeply emotional moments between Laine and Sutton as they faced their struggles head-on and chose love, again and again.

My only wish? A little more time with them at the end! The transition from the final chapter to the epilogue felt a bit quick—I would have loved just a bit more depth as their story wrapped up. I wish the book was longer!

I was captured by this book within the first 10 pages. It was definitely due to Laine being a character that you just automatically want to be friends with. As I continued reading I felt like I really resonated with Laine feeling like she was never enough but I also related to Sutton and his strive to be the best he can be. It was so fun getting to experience the character development of each of them as they learn to love themselves and each other. This is a must read if you like any of these tropes:

- cowboy/small town
- friends to loves
- fake dating
- city girl/country boy
- happily ever after

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for providing this ARC.
I truly enjoyed this book.
If you are searching for a romance with tropes like friends-to-lovers, fake dating, small town, cowboys, mending broken family relationship, you could give it a try.

Laine and Sutton were such wonderful people. Best friends or lovers, it was precious how they cared for each other. It was sad how their family made them question themselves, thinking they were never good enough. Laine’s case was more simple though. Her parents might put some pressure on her out of worries for her unstable future because of her colorful personality, but they were always by her side. However, I couldn’t understand how Sutton’s father and brother could treat him that way. Sutton did come back when Duke passed away. It was his father who didn’t welcome him home. I can understand he might say that out of grief and anger. But no, during 6 years, he did not approach his son any time. And Wells, he was such a dick. He hurt his brother by sleeping with his girlfriend, but I didn’t see any part that he seemed sorry by that. He talked about his love for Cassidy after the cheating like it was a genuine love story. And Cassidy, oh gosh I hated her. She was so selfish and dishonest but acted like a gracious and kindhearted girl.
I found that the ending was a bit rushed though. Cassidy was truly a bitch at the beginning and later she became all sweet and generous. The change was so sudden that it felt confusing. I also didn’t find that Sutton received enough apology from Hank and Wells.
Last but not least, I love Frankie.

Untruly With You is the second book in the Wonderings series but can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

Right from the very start, Sutton and Laine's characters absolutely drew me in--- they were both such wonderful characters that I couldn't help but enjoy and had an effortless chemistry that had me rooting for them. Don't let the cover fool you into thinking this is just a lighthearted romance though... while there were certainly many moments that kept me smiling throughout, it was also a very emotional read and took on some harder topics like grief, anxiety, depression and complicated family dynamics. There was definitely more depth to the story than I would have expected based on the cover and blurb... but in the absolute best way possible. I thought there was such a great balance between those more lighthearted and swoon-worthy moments to those more emotional and tender ones, working together to create a beautiful romance I couldn't help but enjoy.

Untruly With You is a closed-door romance. It does have some innuendo and minor language throughout.

**ARC received via Netgalley for consideration. All opinions are my own.

Wow! Where do I even begin? This book is so wonderful. I think it is a great addition to the Wonderings series. I think Florence Fields will be an author to watch.
This story follows Lanie, a soon-to-be graduate from NYU, and Sutton, the TA for her Shakespeare class. I loved this premise of the story. The settings are New York City and a ranch in a small town of Montana. Could there be more perfect locations? Lanie offers to be Sutton's "fake" date to his brother's wedding on the ranch.
I absolutely loved Sutton from his first introduction. He is one of those subtly sweet characters who stick with you. Lanie took some getting used to, but eventually, she grew on me, too. Did I mention this book is dual POV? I want to thank Fields for giving us insight into both of the characters. It helped flesh out the story. I also liked how Fields takes a rom-com and adds a layer of heart and depth to some of the tougher subjects in the book. It goes deeper than a surface-level fluffy romance.
Tropes I loved:
-student & TA
-fake dating
-cowboy hats (if you know you know)
-slow burn
Content: kisses, fade-to-black

This was truly sweet and funny! I'd give it a solid 4.75 stars ⭐.

I absolutely adored Untruly with you. I didn't expect to love it as much as I did. We got straight to the point as soon as the book started, which I really appreciated!

I loved the characters. Laine was such an adorable and lively character. I really enjoyed how her struggle with indecision and her inability to commit to choices was handled. Sutton was endearing, even though I got incredibly frustrated with him at one point in the book (you'll know what I'm talking about if you've read it!). I thought the way his grief, anxiety, and depression were handled was excellent.

The romance was beautiful. Laine and Sutton constantly supported each other without hesitation. They were truly in love, encouraging each other every step of the way. Neither of them ever made the other feel like a burden.

I really enjoyed Frankie and Magnolia; they were hilarious and endearing. The development in the brothers' relationship was heartwarming, although I would have loved to see them communicate more.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a beautiful closed-door romance, a tight-knit family, and a well-written story!

🫑Just kissing
Innuendo and mild language

Wow, wow, wow, this was so much more emotional and angsty than I was expecting. I was screaming at these 2 in places 🤭 (in the best way)

Laine and Sutton are both dealing with obstacles in their lives, keeping them from being together.
Sutton is dealing with anxiety and depression from grief. I loved the way Laine helped him through a panic attack, and I enjoyed the way they balanced each other out.
Watching each of them work through the problems and find their way back to each other when they could have walked away was refreshing.
