I enjoyed this book but didn’t love the narration. I think I would have enjoyed this book more without audio. It was fun read that was definitely different than other demon books. Ash’s character did seem a little bland and I wish this was in 1st person POV to get more depth from him. I would be interested in the next book of this series though!

My Funny Demon Valentine follows Evangeline Gregory, a musician in Montreal, as she has a chance encounter with a handsome man, Asmodeus, who just happens to be a demon trying to escape Hell. Eva immediately falls for Ash and the chaos that ensues for both of them is world-changing for each of them. You can expect themes like insta-love and demons pretending (and failing) to be human while they adjust to the modern world.
This book unfortunately just did not work for me - I struggled with how the characters all spoke with each other and felt it was repetitive and skewed teenager-y. When Ash talks with Eva while he's still pretending to be human, he’s bad at lying about where he’s from and all of the aspects of himself that are demon-related. There is a lot of telling without showing in the book, and some of the exposition was fun - like having Eva's parents talk to each other about demons - it just felt like a lot of the book could have been tightened up to have the events unfold in a way that brought the reader along for the ride better. I did listen to this as an audiobook and the reading felt rather flat as well.
Thank you very much to NetGalley and to Recorded Books for the advanced copy.

4.8⭐️ for the narration.
5⭐️ for the story.
🖤 Story review: I absolutely freaking loved this!! It was so much more than I thought it be. This was a complete impulse mood read pick that I discovered on NetGalley. It was cozy, easy to get into, hilarious, heartwarming, engaging the entire time. Never once did I lose interest. It had everything I wanted. I giggled, blushed, cried, was full of rage, was on the edge of my seat and when a book makes me feel so much like that, that’s how i know it’s gonna be a 5 star. The characters are my babies and I will protect them with my life. Yes, including the jacked, tatted from head to toe and pierced up demon brother😂. I love the complexities of all of them, how they’ve grown and how I’m sure they will continue to grow in future books. 🫶🏼 Truly the best time. I can’t wait for the next one!
🖤 Narration Review: Now, I’m usually not a big fan of single person narration in romance, but Kirsten Leigh did a bloody good job. She gave each character their own distinct different voice, matching each of them well. Yet very naturally and subtly flowed between them. The tone and emotion and pacing of her voice always matched the story. There was not an ick be found. Not even during the absolutely delicious spicy scenes. Some audiobooks you can fill a disconnect when the narrator doesn’t match the story, but this was not the case. The only problem I had was at the very start when I was a bit confused because it starts out with a scene of our 4 demon brothers and wasn’t keeping track of who was who but that’s not really a critique of the narration or the story, that’s more just a normal thing to happen since the story had only just started😆. For the most part, I had no problems with it.👏🏼
Thank you so much to @NetGalley and @recordedbooks for this audiobook arc in exchange for an honest review 😊

Cute story with some good characters and a good story. Some funny moments and some action made this a quick read I enjoyed Eva and Ash and their connection through music. The plot was pretty solid but there were just s few hiccups that made it less enjoyable. Without giving anything away I was confused by Eva’s mom and her actions throughout the book. I really liked her character but I was left scratching my head. The story seemed a little clunky at times and lacked flow. Overall a decent read—not great but not terrible either.
Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the humor between the demon brothers. Asmodeus aka Ash and his brothers have escaped Hell and trying to enjoy their freedom before the Hunter comes after them. Ash was cursed thousands of years ago to be seen as nothing, but when he went to a bar and heard Evangeline playing music, he felt seen. Evangeline was drawn to Ash from the very first night. Their chemistry is on fire, but something is still not right. Evangeline could have sworn she saw Ash with wings and horns.
I enjoyed Ash and Evangeline's connection and seeing how they discovered more of each other. Evangeline is quickly thrown into the world of Ash and his 3 demon brothers, leading to even more twists and turns in the book. I couldn't put the book down and I am excited to read the next book in the series.
Thank you RBmedia for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This book was so silly and I ate it up. I didn't know much going in. Just that the name was silly and the cover was pretty. It's what every reader thinks they would be like if they were in Eva's position. It was just silly enough to keep me engaged and the smut scenes were pretty good as well. I will say for the audio book you have to pay attention a little more. Kirsten Leigh is great but she doesn't change her voice much and there are times in the chapters we switch perspectives. It can get a little confusing for a minute but normally I could figure out who's head we were in within a minute or two. Also I love her mom. I would hate it if Jackie was my mother but I loved it for her! Overall this was a silly, fun, quick read!

my funny demon valentine by @aurora.ascher.author
This one has been on my radar and when I got the audio approval via @netgalley I knew it was time! This was was such a cute and fun time lol. Even though there were demons and hall and fallen angels, it was funny and cute! Ash and his band of demon brothers have escaped hell … and walk into a jazz bar lol it’s like the perfect set up for a good joke 🤣 everything changes when a musician, Evangeline, sees him and really SEES him. There’s steamy pianos and family secrets and hilarious demons, who I honestly can’t wait to see where their stories take them loool. It was such a great time and I think sets up the series so well!

*** 3.5 stars ***
I’ll be honest I just struggled to get over the whole hair down to his bum with and it just gave me a constant state of ick … and then the his brothers are details at some points and I just cringed so hard. They clearly aren’t my type and any book that has a man with long hair especially past their chin is a big no go for me and I just simply can’t get over it I’m sorry.
I ended up actually really liking all the brothers at the end and loved that she had these four demon protectors who are like little teenagers and just enjoying the simple things in the world. I also liked Eva and Ash were also very cute together and I liked how they fit together so well I thought that was lovely.
I liked the plot of this and it’s typically not something I’d usually pick up to read or have much interest in but I did like the whole demon, angel, magic aspect to it and it was nice to try something different
The twist was also good, I did sort of guess the direction it was going but I thought it was really enjoyable.

Cute and witty. I loved the banter and all of the demon boys. I cannot wait to read the next. This had been in my TBR for so long and I'm very happy I got to listen to the audiobook. The narrator was fantastic and did not overdo it when lowering her voice for the male characters. Lovely job.

ARC Review:
Can I just start by saying how amazing and perfect the banter between the MCs in the book is? This book has the perfect amount of spice mixed with comedy. This was a fun read and a very easy read.
Thank you to Aurora Ascher, NetGalley & the Kensington Books team for allowing me the opportunity to review this book and be a part of the ARC team.
ALC Review:
This book was AMAZING. The narrator did such an amazing job with each voice and gave each of them such a unique voice,
Thank you to Kensington, Aurora, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review MDFV's audiobook!

Things aren’t always as they seem and people aren’t also who they say they are. Sometimes the mystery is yourself, that’s the case for the FMC Eva in My Funny Demon Valentine. Eva’s life is thrown for spin when she meets the MMC Ash, who is shocked to find he is actually seen by Eva. As a demon on the run from hell with his brothers Ash is use to blending in due to a curse. That is until he meets Eva.
Cute book with some steam. Defiantly recommend. The narrator of the audio book does a fantastic job.
I bought the physical book. Thank you to NetGalley and the author for granting me the opportunity to listen to the audio book.

This was such a fun & action-packed demon romance! (A sentence I never thought I’d say) Ashmodeous and Evangeline, Ash & Eva for short, were so hot and heavy while also sweet and endearing. As believed she was a simple human then she me t Ash and she had the “sight” allowing her to see him after nearly 3000 years being cursed. Then the story surrounding her Father and his origin was mind-blowing.. poor Jacqui but I don’t want to give too much away. I enjoyed the overall demonology aspect surrounding Ash, Bel, Meph, Raum and Mist. My favorite part was the way she wrote about music being tied to the soul and how it’s love that inevitably rules everything was absolutely beautiful. I look forward to the rest of the series and can’t wait for Mist’s story next! 💘 (ARC review thank you again for this opportunity.)

3.5 rounded up this was a fun paranormal romcom. The main characters were funny and so cute. I enjoyed it, but it felt a little clunky to me. The audio has some big pauses between breaks and chapters, and I found the third person and frequent POV change within the chapters a little jarring, a few times I had to go back and relisten to the transition again. I really enjoyed the world building and magic though. It was predictable but in a good way. The ending felt a little abrupt without full resolution. I will definitely be reading the next in the series to give it another go.
Thank you very much for this ALC opportunity, I enjoyed my listen.

This wasn't my favorite book I have read! But it was cited a demon who wants to play jazz!! Fantastic! The characters had good chemistry and their spicy scenes were entertaining!

This book reminds me of Zodiac Academy in the sense that - the writing is cheesy and not great, but the story is entertaining enough to keep you going. I can see this being you either absolutely love it, or loathe it. I thought it was fun, but not fun enough that I want to continue the series.

Delightfully steamy romcom featuring a prince of hell. This story had a lot of fun biblical and historical demonology built in which I really enjoyed. The narration of this was fantastic and helped immerse me in the story. The story itself was fun but still had heart. I'm very excited to continue the series to learn about the love lives of the other 3 demon brothers.

Listen, I knew I was in for a ride when I got my hands on an ARC of My Funny Demon Valentine, and oh boy, did this book deliver! Buckle up, romance lovers, because this one is cheesy, chaotic, and completely charming—in the best way possible.
This fiery first installment in the Hell Bent series introduces us to Ash—Prince of Hell, jazz aficionado, and cursed to a life so dull he’s basically a walking glitch in the matrix. No taste, no smell, no color—just pure, unfiltered boredom. That is until he meets Eva, a sizzling jazz musician with enough soul and spirit to cut through his curse like a hot knife through butter. Their connection? Instant. Their chemistry? Scorching. Their ability to enjoy a peaceful date? Nonexistent, thanks to the relentless chaos chasing them down at every turn.
And let’s talk about the real MVPs here—Eva’s mother and Ash’s brothers. If this book were a jazz band, they’d be the ones stealing every solo. Their banter? Immaculate. Their antics? Downright hysterical. They alone are reason enough to keep reading the series (and trust me, I will be).
Now, is this book a little over-the-top? Absolutely. Does it embrace the cheesy, heart-eyes, high-stakes romance vibe? With zero shame. If snappy, quirky dialogue isn’t your thing, you might find yourself rolling your eyes—but if you’re here for fun, passion, and some devilishly good times, My Funny Demon Valentine is ready to sweep you off your feet.
Final verdict? A deliciously dramatic, laugh-out-loud demon romance that may have you craving more. Hell has never been so much fun. 🔥😈🎷

This was a fun little read. The audio was done quite well and I really enjoyed the narrators voices. I love anything demon and throw in a romance, it’s sure to be a winner. The banter between the two MCs (Ash and Eva) was great and I feel like there was real character growth towards the end of the book.
I’m excited to read more from Ascher as I’m sure anything else she writes, I will now read!

No way a masterpiece in its genre. But my Gods is it not so much fun. This book knows what it is and it does it in the silliest way. I had a wonderful time. It's spicy because duh of course the Lust Demon romance is going to be. It's humor wasn't always for me but it definitely hit on some moments. Cute love story overall.
Oddly enough, I was super invested in the parents love story more at the end. This is a series so crossing my fingers on a prequel/sequel <3
Narration was okay but I did desperately have to speed it up.

Thank you @NetGalley and @RBmedia for the ARC. What a great start to a new series about angels and demons. Can demons find love on Earth? Oh Yes!! Four demons escape Hell to disappear into the crowded Earth with humans. Ash, or Asmodeus, and his four brothers plan to have fun lay low on Earth before the enforcers come to drag them back to Hell. Eva sees the man of her dreams in a bar and their connection is hot. Unfortunately Ash can not tell her who he really is and put Eva in danger. When MIst finds them all hell breaks loose and Eva realizes her life will never be the same.
