I’m giving this one 2.5 ⭐️. I may have misunderstood, but I thought this book was going to be more spirit lead on how to find your purpose and transform through it, but it’s more about putting systems in place to transform your life. The author seems pretty easy going based on the audio version, but the systems he has in place are just too structured, overwhelming, and strict for a normal person. The book was stressing me out, and I’m a person who is extremely organized, keeps a lot of checklists, and has multiple calendars.

He begins the book by taking about his priorities:

Priority #1 Start by determining your foundational priority - God.

Priority #2 - Family. This chapter was un-relatable for me, and I couldn’t get past the fact that the author calls his kids E1-4. It’s odd. I felt like they were objects. He should have used their names or pseudonyms.

Priority #3 Productivity. This was a good chapter with some ideas I liked.

Priority #4 Rest and enjoyment

Key Takeaways:
- “Watch your words. What do you believe about yourself? Do your words reflect those thoughts? Do your words drive you to the right kind of action?”
- Believe that impossible things are possible.
- Your life will only change if you act, and even doing something small, even if you stumble, will still get you further than you are now.
- Create good habits
- Think of others ahead of yourself

I think this book could have been great, but it needed a different approach. It wasn’t a complete bust for me though because there were a few things in it that I’m going to try to apply.

I wanted to love this book. I like reading Christian Living books and am always looking for inspiration and guidance. Unfortunately, I did not find either in this book. Perhaps it is because my life is very different from the author’s. He didn’t seem to really have too many struggles at any point in his life whereas my life has had some struggles. Most of what the book suggests seems to work more for those already living a life free from struggle. Everything seemed to work too perfectly for real life.

I was also not a fan on how he referred to his children. I understand wanting to keep some things such as children’s names private, but use a pseudonym or something rather than numbering the kids.

I am sure the author is successful and doing well, if you are in the same boat and in the business world, this book may work for you. It was not what I was looking for.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a free reviewer copy on the audiobook. Receiving this book did not impact my review at all.
