I was excited to read "The Mary Pages" because I have always been fascinated with Mary, and was not raised in the Catholic Tradition. My conservative Christian home mentioned Mary only at Christmas, and then still, only as an obedient mother. Sally Read shares her own path to Mary through personal anecdotes and others who influenced her journey. The included pictures and bits of poetry and text added to the narrative and helped bring the story to life. Recommended for anyone interested in memoir, catholicism, Mary, or spiritual journeys. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

The Mary Pages is a cerebral and abstract account of one woman’s experience with Mary. Nevertheless, it is a story of a lost lamb coming home to the Son and how Mary met her on that journey. Sally shares her experiences in a real and raw manner, inviting the reader to experience her highs and lows with her. It is an insightful autobiography of how she was drawn to Mary and her journey of embracing her Catholic faith. While I may not have connected with Sally in the telling, I can always appreciate someone’s story.
