More adventures across the globe from the fed cop and the con man. Kate and Nick chase the baddies and try not to have a relationship. From palaces to hell holes, they chase the criminals and work cons of their own. My thanks to the authors and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book.
There is a reason why books like this become best sellers: they suspend thinking, they give the illusion of peeking through the keyhole of the rich and famous and discovering that they don't change their underwear (a metaphor for saying that the money has been made badly), in short, they go down like a glass of fresh lemonade in summer. "The Job" is a leading exponent of the category, with characters so over-the-top as to be hardly believable (although I do think it is possible that in the US there are fathers who present their teenage daughters with grenades and grandfathers who teach their grandchildren still in primary schools to kill with their bare hands) and it did its job very well by passing me by at the dawn of a sleepless night.
I somehow missed that this was the third book in a series. While the premise sounds interesting, I am not interested in reading the first two books before diving into this one, so I will be passing on it. Giving it 4 stars though because I have enjoyed what I've read by these authors in the past.
This was a good story. If you like Stephanie Plum, you should enjoy the banter between Fox and Hare, too. Not quite as humorous, but still a very intriguing read.
Fox and Ohare fans will enjoy this book. If you've got something that brings in readers don't mess with it and a book about and FBI agent and a con man have it. Its not necessary to have read the previous books in the series to enjoy this one.
Nick and Kate are reunited again in this next installment in the Fox and O'Hare series. As much as I loved Stephanie Plum I must admit this Evanovich series is one I am enjoying more! It just appears to have more action and adventure to it!
My review is posted for a client - I am a ghostwriter. I enjoy Janet Evanovich's work, so I was happy to receive this assignment. My review is covered by a nondisclosure agreement, so I cannot provide a link. My review is quite positive!
This one was a little too out there for me. A little too far out of reality for me to really enjoy it. It was a quicker read, that's for sure. I am not sure how this series will continue, if that's the plan. The books are feeling a bit redundant.
Light fun story. two main characters are well into their roles by this book - but I really liked Jake - the dad. He is funny and it is good that Kate can always count on him.
I like the traveling and learning a little bit about some of the other places they go.
I would like to thank Net Galley and Random House for the opportunity to read another fabulous Janet Evanovich novel, The Job.
I have never been disappointed with Janet Evanovich’s stories before and she did not fail to entertain me again. Her quirky and unique characters, along with the humorous writing, keep me in stitches as we work to solve the mystery. She does a fantastic job as bringing them to life through her words.
Kate believes Nick when he says he didn’t do it. I love them and, even though he is a fantastic specimen with a good boy/bad boy thing going on, she doesn’t jump right into bed with him. I like that there is no instalove, though sometimes I wonder how she resists. lol
Nick is hotter than a stolen Ferrari and just as fast, sleek and dangerous.
I love the lively banter and Janet Evanovich can pull it off extremely well. Her writing style makes the story flow smoothly and the reading easy. I eat up her books like the M&Ms I love so much.
I love the scene where Willie is driving a 797 F heavy equipment dump truck. Totally cracked me up. I couldn’t help but laugh as the words developed into a film unrolling in my mind.
The Job is a fabulous suspense/thriller adventure and I want more of Kate and Nick.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of The Job by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg.
When your work day is complete, the last thing you expect is to receive a phone call to let you know someone close to you has stolen a painting from a museum. For Kate – the reality that Nick might steal a painting from a museum is absurd. After all…Nick isn’t the kind of person that would commit a crime. Or is he?
Trying to get to the bottom of things, Kate decides that Nick has clearly been framed. An investigation to clear Nick’s name is underway and the layers that are uncovered are deeper than one could imagine. An elaborate scheme will uncover a connection to a drug lord, a person from Nick’s past, and favor that has yet to be repaid. With Kate and Nick on the trail, the scheming knows no bounds! Let’s hope that the real culprit doesn’t win this elaborate game of cat and mouse.
Where do I begin? This has been one of the hardest Janet Evanovich books to read. The unique qualities that should have been present in The Job never made their way to the top. As with the other books in the Fox and O’Hare series, The Job gives you the details of the crime without a lot of mystery or engaging qualities. The location always changes, but the plot twists are so similar it gives you the ‘been there done that’ vibe.
As a fan of Janet Evanovich’s for some time, I just feel this series lacks the ability to adapt and give readers something to look forward to in regards to upcoming rendezvous or mysteries. There is just no comparison between Kate and Nick and the characters in the Stephanie Plum series. With less grit and more fluff, this series is quickly losing its appeal to me as an avid fan of the author.
I picked this up and put it down a few times before I was able to read the whole thing this time.
The premise is entertaining and the characters are fairly likable but I found that I often felt that things had fallen a little flat. I know it probably sounds weird since problem after problem came up but it was like everything was solved too easily or too quickly?
There is a lot of amusing dialogue and there are quite a few funny moments too. I think Kate and Nick are great opposites attract characters though I don't really feel invested in their romance or really care whether or not they get together.
I will say that I think this belongs on screen. TV would probably be the best bet since there is a ton of stuff going on in the book alone and there are quite a few books in the series.
The best way I can describe this series is "White Collar" mixed with "Castle" in book form.
Thanks to Netgalley for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is such a fun series. Great main characters, interesting plots, lots of action and humor, globe-trotting, and a collection of fun supporting characters. And some sweet sexual tension. The Job is no exception - it has all of the above. This time, Nick & Kate move from Nashville to Lisbon to Istanbul to London in pursuit of their bad guys. There are plot points that require a bit of suspension of disbelief, but that's what makes these books so much fun. They're perfect for when I'm looking for a light, entertaining read, and I've enjoyed each one.

This is my favorite Janet Evanovich series. The story line is very White Collar with a touch of romance. Kate and Nick are one of my favorite couples and I can't wait for the next installment.
Note: I finally see some growth to this series.
I love all the capers and antics that Fox and O'Hare find themselves in.
The cast and characters in this book are clearly growing on me and I think this series has a lot of potential to be like the Stephanie Plum series where we get caught up in the silliness of what is going on, but this book is more capers and crusades vs. arrests and antics.
4 stars
I have not read the other books in the series and I didn't like this one. I found the characters to be very shallow and vapid and I really did not like them at all. I quit at about 33%. I will not post a negative review online.
I AM SO EMBARRASSED ... JUST NOW FINDING THIS ONE ON MY KINDLE/AMAZON. WAS NEVER READ SO NO REVIEW COMING AT THIS LATE DATE. MY SINCERE APOLOGIES.
Another fun caper with Nicholas Fox and Kate O'Hare! I love these two together, and this was a romp that entertained as much as the first two!
sorry did not read - realized that it was a series and I hadn't read the previous books.
FBI agent Kate O'Hare is wrapping up a case when she gets a call that con man Nicolas Fox has walked into a museum and stolen a painting. Nick though is not that careless and Kate believes he is innocent, well of this theft. Jet setting all over the world, Kate and Nick work to figure is out to frame Nick as well as a few other misadventures along the way.
I have not read the first two books but definitely going back to see where it all began. Witty, charismatic, and full of fun, The Job was an unexpected treat. I liked the chemistry between Kate and Nick, I think in some ways he expects her to fall into his arms but she has no plans to go there, no matter how attracted she is. Great read.
