Currently struggling with this.
I’m sort of enjoying the story, however the continuity is flawed. Does Leo have green eyes or Hazel eyes as it continually changes and so far I’m only halfway though.
I’ll come back and edit this review once I’m done but I wish this had been ironed out before publication
I managed to reach the end of this, and while the storyline is good, it was extremely distracting the amount of times Leo’s eyes were mentioned and the fact they were Hazel one minute, Green the next 🙄
Fliss and her husband Ben have been trying for a 2nd child for a while now and with each negative pregnancy test Fiss becomes more and more concerned something is wrong. While Ben is more laid back with a it’ll happen when it happens approach.
As Fliss struggles she reaches out to a support group on the internet and through that becomes aware of a tv company looking to film families as they navigate secondary infertility. Ben is reluctant to take part, but Fliss sends an email enquiring anyway. Very quickly she is contacted by the company and baboozled by Carrie the producer to take part, despite Ben's reluctance. Shortly afterwards Carrie is injured in an accident and one of her team Leo, takes over.
Fliss and Leo, quickly become friends and Fliss is very attracted to him. (Hence the fascination with his eyes)
We follow Fliss as she begins her journey into finding answers and hopefully a 2nd pregnancy. However things don’t always go to plan.

This book was bitter sweet it was heart-warming and beautiful but also hurts as I'm dealing with a similar topic right now and I'm so glad our mc got her healing journey

The description of this audiobook is well done in itself, whereby it tells you just enough without giving away a lot of the storyline.
Fliss is on a journey to have a second child in addition to her daughter Holly, she and her husband Ben were trying to conceive without much success. Initially this was put down to the family dynamics and the fact Ben worked away so much so being together when Fliss was ovulating was taking a toll, they did however try to find a way to make this work.
Along this process Fliss had applied to a tv show regarding their current situation to gain support of professionals and document their journey although Ben didn't wish to be part of this Fliss still believed they could attain support from the experience and maybe he would change his mind if she was successful. This is where we meet other characters, such as online friends in forums, some who become long-standing close friends. All these people are going through difficult situations of conception, including IVF treatment, etc, and also the tv series crew...
This journey takes Fliss in a different direction from where she expected by the end of the book there have been a few little plot twists however what I will share is it all flowed really well with lots of love, hope, amazing friendships, family dynamics, of course times of difficulty and sadness but most of all much happiness for many characters. It is truly a heartfelt story.
The narration was well done, and I have to say Natalie Pela has such a soothing voice that just was perfect for this audiobook. All characters came to life and were easily distinguished between who's who throughout.
With thanks to Netgalley & Bolinda Audio for the opportunity to listen to this ARC in return for an open, honest review. Best wishes for publication in February 🙏🏼❤️🎧
