I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!
Thank you for the opportunity to review this book. I am sorry I did not get to read it before the archive date.
This book is awesome! Indie author Shari Arnold totally understands Kates. The title really says pretty much all you need to know about Kates in general and this book in particular–Triumphant.
Fair warning, this is technically a YA book, but I don’t think young adults are the only readers who will enjoy it. This book is tightly written to maximize suspense and tension, it sizzles and pops in the right places. This thirty-something (and her sixty-something mother) thoroughly enjoyed the paranormal quirkiness, the all too real teenage angst, the searing chemistry of new love, and the intrigue of Kate Triumph’s existence. As I get older, I also find myself more and more interested in my own parents as people–who they were before they brought me into the world and became parents–and Shari Arnold writes Kate’s parents as people here who are interesting characters in their own right. In this first in what I hope to be a multibook series, I find myself invested in these characters, wanting to know what motivates each and what the murky future has in store.
This is one of those rare finds that I would actually read again. Especially in preparation for installment two—please Shari!
