A fun smutty romance to keep you warm. Reverse boss/employee romance. This is a fun, quick read for romance lovers.

Are you ready to spice up your Spring? Dreaming of a the warm weather, with lazy days by the pool, a cocktail and book in your hands? Then What Happens in Paradise is the perfect book to add to your Spring reading list!!

Love Alchemist, Jasmine, loves her job match-making couples. Her own love life? Well that's a different thing, she prefers to be single and let's not talk about her attraction to chef, Alejandro. However, when the two of them are forced together on a work trip to Jamaica it looks like they will both get a chance to get to know each other a lot better!!! Can they put their pasts behind them and find a way to a happy ending together?

It's winter here, and I needed a book to get me in the mood for the warmer weather... and oh boy does What Happens in Paradise deliver!!! Jasmine and Alejandro absolutely sizzle off the page with their physical connection!!! As they work together, to set up the new Love Hotel in Jamaica, it is easy to see their connection runs deep. Reading their story had me smiling and curling my toes at all the right moments, unable to put the romance down even for a second.

If you enjoy interesting characters, thrown together in forced proximity on a sizzling beautiful locale, then What Happens in Paradise is just right for you. Love the idea of the Love Hotel, then you've got to read book 1, The One That Got Away. You can read these as a stand-alone, but trust me you need to read Stella and Max's story too!!!

Loved getting Jasmine's story after falling in love with Stella and Max in the first book. Jasmine and Alejandro have quite the chemistry and I knew it was only a matter of time before they connected (fully). What a fun/steamy romance book! Love the Love Hotel!

I struggled with this book unfortunately. I thought the storyline and characters were likable, and really liked the ‘love hotel’ concept. However I wasn’t a huge fan of the boss - employee dynamic and I didn’t like how Alejandro’s chapters were written in quite a different style which made the book feel like it didn’t flow as well as it could have.

This was hot and spicy and oh so entertaining!

Pick this one up when you need to feel the spice. While spicy, it had a great storyline.

What happens when you are extremely attracted to your younger co-worker, there is a no fraternization policy at your resort, and you are forced to spend to week with him in paradise spending time doing couple excursions? Jasmine is freaking out about how she is going to spend time with Alejandro and not fall for him.

This was a great read. If you want a good reverse age gap that makes sense but is funny and has a forbidden element, grab this book. Jasmine and Alejandro have so much chemistry but between Jasmine trying to follow the rules of the job and Alejandro not being sure of her feelings they have a lot of false starts. What’s great about this book is that when they finally give in to their attraction it’s steamy and sweet. They realize pretty quick that what they have is truly special. Alejandro is open about his feelings and that in turn makes Jasmine feel better about herself in the wake of an ugly past relationship/divorce. I loved so much about this story including the ending which was nearly perfect for the story. Great read.

I adored this one!! After meeting Jasmine in book one where she helped Stella and Max reconnect, I was super excited to get my hands on an ARC to read Jasmine’s story.

Jasmine is such a beautiful character, I love that she is such a strong, independent woman. Alejandro is also such a loveable character and that is something I really embrace when reading Olivia’s stories.

When Jasmine and Alejandro are asked to travel to Jamaica to support the opening of a brand new Love Hotel, both of them are nervous at having to spend so much time with one another seeing as they are attracted to each other.

I loved the buildable romance in this, the experiences they had honestly made me feel like I was right there with them! The build up to the spice was everything and I love the way Olivia writes romance!

I felt the sparks fly through my kindle!

I cannot wait for book 3 to read Sammie’s story!

I was absolutely thrilled to get this arc! Olivia Spring delivers such addicting and deliciously spicy rom coms. I loved escaping to the tropical paradise of Jamaica and getting to know Jasmine and Alejandro. They try to maintain a professional working relationship even though the attraction is so strong between them. I loved all the tension and interactions as they keep finding themselves in romantic environments due to their job assignments. I couldn’t get enough of these two and things get so spicy! So many fun tropes packed into one book! You’ll be swooning just like I was!

Thank you so much Olivia Spring, NetGalley, and Boldwood Books for the arc!

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Jasmine, who is an Hotel guest relations manager, and is also called a Love Alchemist, loves her job at the exclusive Spanish Love Hotel.

But at the hotel, staff are forbidden to form romantic relationships. Jasmine has to not act on her attraction that she feels whenever she’s around sous-chef, Alejandro. Especially when she knows he feels the same too. But she doesn’t want to throw away everything she’s worked for.

She is then asked to travel to Jamaica for two and establish a new branch of the hotel, and Alejandro is to accompany her.

So, with distance from her workplace, will Jasmine keep her feelings in control and resist temptation? Or will they both give in and act on their feelings and risk everything?

I highly recommend this book.

Having read many of Olivia's books before and having read book 1 in this series (The One That Got Away) I was really excited to read this one.

I was happy to see Jasmine who we met in book 1 get her HEA. I like the idea of a location set book. But unfortunately I struggled to really love this one. I found the spicy scenes cringy rather than sexy and the FMC's obsession with their age gap was a bit annoying.

I would highly recommend Olivia's work, but this book unfortunately would not be up the top of the list ☹️☹️☹️

Easy read, but definitely adult, romance story. You are left in no doubt by the opening chapter that if you want to work in this love match hotel company then fraternisation between employees is banned. But I don’t think the two employees that Jasmine, manager and love match guru, comes across in the laundry would survive in any employment regardless. This I thought was a little more than needed to get the point across. However, the story becomes a little more believable. Jasmine is forced to spend two weeks in paradise with Alejandro, the master chef. A trip to help the company expand into Jamaica is likely to be very problematic because there’s attraction between them. Is Jasmine going to be hypocritical and go with her feelings over company policy? Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.

I loved this age-gap romance! The story is told from the alternating perspectives of Alejandro and Jasmine, both employees at a hotel chain that specializes in creating romantic experiences for its guests. Jasmine, in guest relations, coordinates romantic excursions, ensuring guests have the best experience, while Alejandro is a chef in the hotel's restaurant. Alejandro is kind, ambitious, and has a sexy accent. Jasmine, who hasn't dated since her divorce, finds everything she wants in a man in the handsome Alejandro.

However, there's a twist—Jasmine is Alejandro's boss, and office romances are strictly forbidden. Jasmine tries to resist the fiery passion she feels for Alejandro, but his charm and sincerity make it impossible. Despite his desire to give her everything she's ever wanted, Jasmine is afraid they'll lose everything they've worked for in their careers.

Jasmine and Alejandro's romance is both sensual and sweet. Jasmine, initially reluctant to let love in, is shown by Alejandro that he's looking for more than just a quick fling.

I absolutely loved that the main characters are people of colour, which added a rich layer of authenticity and depth to the story. Alejandro was born in Spain, and Jasmine's family is from Jamaica, bringing unique cultural backgrounds that enhanced the narrative. The settings in Spain and Jamaica added to the romantic allure, making the story even more captivating. I love Caribbean culture, and the references to Jamaican food, dance, and music were really interesting. I plan to check out the songs mentioned in the book. These elements brought the story to life and made it a truly engaging read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the chance to read this novel before its release. Definitely check this one out! It’s spicy and sweet all in one.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an arc of this book!

The second book, What Happens in Paradise, from Olivia Spring’s Love Hotel series, follows Jasmine, a hotel guest manager known as the “Love Alchemist” for her matchmaking skills. However, workplace romances are strictly forbidden. Despite this, she finds herself drawn to Alejandro, a charming sous-chef, forcing her to choose between her job and her feelings.

This was such a sweet and romantic read! I love a good age gap, and the forbidden workplace romance made it even more exciting—I was hooked from the start!

The short chapters kept the pacing fast and engaging. I liked that both characters were healing from past relationships, which shaped their dynamic and what they sought in each other. While the dialogue was a bit on the nose and everything—especially the flirting—was very spelled out, it didn’t take away too much from my enjoyment.

Out 14th February 🩷

Hotel guest relations manager Jasmine, also known as a Love Alchemist, adores her job at the exclusive Spanish Love Hotel. She prides herself on helping guests meet their perfect match. But matchmaking is absolutely forbidden between staff. And so Jasmine must resist the attraction she feels every time she’s around delectable sous-chef, Alejandro. The problem is, she knows the feeling is mutual. But she cannot jeopardise her job or break the rules.

Because all her hard work is about to be recognized when she’s asked to set up the new branch of the hotel in Jamaica. With an ocean between her and temptation, Jasmine is ecstatic. This is just the distance she needs to keep her feelings under control. But there is one kink in her plan… Alejandro has been asked to join her. For two whole weeks!

Under the sultry Jamaican sun, keeping it strictly professional becomes impossible when romance is literally all around them! So they agree a (secret) holiday fling may help satisfy their desires and then they can move on. After all, what happens in paradise stays in paradise… right?

Really enjoyed this book wow

Spring does a fantastic job jumping between point of views of the two main characters. From the jaw dropping opening of the novel I could not put this book down. I really enjoyed the flow of the novel. It was a fun and quick read. I did not know that there was a first book but you bet I am going to read that in the near future. Not reading the first novel did not prohibit me from enjoying this novel to the fullest extent.

Reverse age gap with the "only one bed" trope? Count me in! This book was a true Jamaican delight. I couldn't get enough of the mouthwatering food and drinks that had me craving more, and the vivid descriptions of the Jamaican beaches and weather made me feel like I was right there. Jasmine and Alejandro were both strong, compelling characters, and I found myself really rooting for them. And a special shoutout to Bob – he was such a fun and memorable character that added a lot of charm to the story.

This is book 2 in "The Love Hotel" series. The main characters are recurring characters from the first book, however this book can be read as a standalone.
Such a fun and spicy romance!
The story set in Spain and Jamaica, that gives immediate paradise vibes. Alejandro and Jasmine had such great chemistry, the language barrier and the fact that their love was forbidden due to their working situation made it an amazing romance story. I like that the chapters are short, it made it a light, quick and fun read. Another plus for me was the double POV, loved reading from both perspectives,

This book was a super cute age-gap romance (owym)!
I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Jasmine and Alejandro made their work trip worth the travel, baby, and their obvious chemistry added interest and spice to the story! The fact that the story takes place in Jamaica and Spain was a nice change; the attention to the details in describing the landscape in each location was spot on. I loved the irony of their situation, the area in which they are employed, and what they were to accomplish during their work hours, for them to then be punished for subcombing to the business model. This gave me side eye the entire book, I am so glad the Olivia addressed this in the book. The hotel they work for has a strict policy that Jasmine is trying to stand by, but Alejandro does not care. Their story is very complex; they both are attempting to recover from recent heartbreak, and they have people who are depending on them, rooting for them. They both have goals of professional advancement however, if they can't keep their cool, they could lose it all.

This was a super fun read.

Thank you, Netgalley, Boldwood Books, and Olivia Spring, for the ARC of What Happens in Paradise.

This is a heartwarming holiday romance set in the Love Hotel series. Jasmine, a gifted matchmaker and hotel guest manager, struggles with her attraction to sous-chef Alejandro, as workplace relationships are strictly forbidden. To avoid temptation, she accepts a role opening a new hotel branch in Jamaica, only to find Alejandro will be joining her for two weeks. Amid the tropical paradise, their secret romance unfolds, blending passion, self-discovery, and festive charm. Olivia Spring’s engaging storytelling, vivid descriptions, and emotional depth make this a delightful read for contemporary romance fans.

The FMC in this book was a little too hung up on the age gap between her and the MMC, so that drove me a little nuts. She was so stuck on the age gap, yet somehow, she felt less mature than the younger love interest. 🙃 But once I got past that, I really enjoyed the forbidden romance and forced proximity!

Their boss kept throwing Jasmine and Alejandro into ridiculously romantic situations and then had the audacity to be shocked when feelings developed. Like… what exactly were you expecting at a love hotel?! 😂

This is the second book in a series, but you can totally read it as a standalone (I did!). I had so much fun with it that I’m definitely going back to check out book one! I will also probably reread this book over the summer because it will be a perfect summer beach read!

If you’re into these tropes, you’ll probably love this one:
📖 Forced Proximity
🛏️ One Bed
❤️‍🔥 Forbidden Love
🔄 Reverse Age Gap
