Let me just tell you this one pulls at the heart strings! I cried several times. The things these two have gone through, and how I felt the emotion so deeply!

Denver and Blair were childhood best friends turns high school sweethearts turned heartbreaking ex’s. Blair returns home to take care of her mom, and it is inevitable she runs in to Denver. They haven’t spoken in years and both still raw from that last encounter. One thing Denver know is that he will not let Blair get away this time.

Denver is persistent in the most lovable way. All he wants to do is take care of his best girl Blair. He is devoted and he just puts a big smile on my face. Blair is strong and has a hard time accepting help. She is witty and caring. I loved seeing her learn to trust again and let those walls down.

This series has me hooked!!

WOW wow wow. This is Bailey’s best work yet! Denny & Blair’s story had everything and I mean EVERYTHING I could want out of a contemporary. I absolutely loved the dual timeline, the placement of the flashbacks were so well placed throughout the story. Denny?? DENVER WELLS?? THE MAN THAT YOU ARE!!!! I loved that this story was two people who were young and both made mistakes, I love the healing journey they BOTH went on, I love the no 3rd act break up, and I was absolutely emotionally obliterated by this story. My fav Wells Ranch couple hands down. 😭😭

Denver Wells took this series to a whole new level for me. He is top ten book boyfriend material. This man is down bad and he will do anything to right the wrongs of his past and win his high school sweetheart back. This man literally crawls to her. 😍
This book is dual timeline and so you get to follow young love, loss, heartbreak, and current day trust, honesty, and forever love.
Bailey Hannah did a great job touching on some sensitive topics and handled them with the utmost care.
Be sure to check out Alive and Wells and Seeing Red in this series as well as they are both top reads.

In conclusion, I gave this book 5 stars because with a blend of emotional intensity, sizzling chemistry, and small-town charm, Change of Hart is more than just a second-chance romance—it’s a poignant exploration of love, loss, and the strength it takes to trust again. Bailey Hannah masterfully crafts a story that tugs at the heartstrings, delivering moments of deep emotional resonance alongside the undeniable spark between Blair and Denny. The tension between them is palpable—rooted in years of unresolved feelings, heartbreak, and the weight of choices they made as teenagers. Their journey back to each other is not just about rekindling passion but about finding the courage to heal old wounds and embrace the possibility of a future together.

I absolutely devoured this. I truly loved both characters. This story was really relatable while also being a fairytale coded second change romance.

Blair, the eldest daughter who carries everyone else’s burdens on her shoulders. She moves back home to help care for her mother after being away for 14 years. The ugly thing about small towns is you can’t hide from your childhood love.

Denver, the baby brother and playboy of Wells Ranch… Until the love of his life throws him off a horse (literally). He’s willing to do whatever it takes to gain back her trust and get her back.

With the dual timeline - we deal with quite a bit of grief and around 80% it was difficult for me to wrap my head around the decision that was made. Though I understand and support it, it was abrupt. It wasn’t handled in the best way (in my opinion) BUT I have to remember they were 18 at this time. That’s the only reason this isn’t a 5 star for me.

Despite my own personal feelings about it, I’m happy with the overall ending.

This series is one of my favorite and I love the found family. Whose story will be next? 🤔

WOW. Just--WOW. Reluctant lovers? Second chance romance, I was a sucker for this book no questions asked. I read this book knowing full well that Bailey was going to blow it out of the park and let me tell you, SHE DID. I am so in love with Blair and Denver, this book was heartbreaking and beautiful in the same moment. I loved it literally so much.

Blair Hart is returning to a place she has went out of her way to avoid for years, and if it wasn't for her mother falling ill she probably wouldn't be setting foot in Wells Canyon at all. It's a place that holds a lot of old hurts and bad memories for her, memories she has spent half her life trying to forget. But when family calls you do whatever it takes...

Change of Hart is an emotional second chance romance that is destined to have you swept up in it's words and feeling all the feels by the first chapter! The pages of this one introduce us to former couple Denver and Blair and it doesn't take long to see why they belong together. They have immediate and all feeling chemistry, but they also have a lot of baggage to sort through and that's where things hit a snag. Forgiveness comes hard for these two and they fight what is happening between them... but eventually they learn that the heart always gets what it wants. It's persistent like that!

This book was my introduction to this author and it had me wondering why I hadn't heard of her before, I am happy to see that there are other books in this series, I cannot wait to read them too! Her well penned words entertained, touched my heart, and left me aching for more when the last page found me... and in my book it doesn't get better than that! Highly recommend this one, it's a can't miss western romance that comes with a cowboy destined to still your heart!

Second Chance Love, Small Hometown, Western Contemporary Romance with spice!

I loved this story, Blair and Denver stole my heart from the very beginning. Their relationship withstood the hands of time and heartbreak. Healing from grief and pain, it was beautiful to see how the story developed and the characters evolved.

Blair coming back home to help with her mother, who has Alzheimer’s. Having to face her past and the boy who stole her heart and crushed it at the tender age of 18.

Denver, instead of dealing with the past, he drank and slept his way through it. No one realizing the pain he felt from losing Blair so shortly after his own loss.

These two had to face the past while learning who they were now, after 14 years. I highly recommend this book and series.

This book was so perfect to me I loved every single second of reading it and when I wasn’t reading it was the only thing on my mind. The second chance trope was written so perfectly it gave me such a perfect angsty feeling while also having so much fluff to make it all so much better! I loved the flashbacks to when they were younger and falling in love it was so cute and made the second chance that much sweeter. This did have me crying multiple times it was pulling on all my heart strings but I loved. Bailey Hannah you did it again definitely her best book so far i absolutely recommend!!!

A heartwarming second chance story for a childhood friends to lovers pair that will resonate with so many people

i may or may not have stayed up reading it all night because i just HAD to finish.

god, denny and blair ruined my lifeeeee (in the best way possible). there’s just something about reading high school sweethearts reconcile as adults especially when you can tell that they loved each other. and these two LOVED each other so much. it was never going to be anyone else for them, that much was obvious.

one of my favorite microtropes in second chance is when the one who left finally comes back and the other immediately breaks it off with the person they were seeing without a second thought and denny delivered while literally strapped to a gurney and riding in an ambulance. i just love them. the friendship they had before falling in love, the shared trauma, the way they leaned on one another and learned how to keep doing that in adulthood, the banter, rediscovering theirselves, the effort from denny to prove he wasn’t the same immature boy that contributed to their demise as kids, blair learning to take help when she needed it and let someone care for her like she cares for everyone else, it’s just so good. plus it made me cry several times and we all know i love a good emotional book.

my favorite of the series thus far which is saying something because we know how i feel about an accidental pregnancy trope and i loved red and cass’s book so much.

Denver is top notch! And I never related so much to a female character as I did with Blair! This has definitely been my favorite one of the Wells Ranchers Series! But then again I’ve loved them all!

I absolutely loved everything about this! The emotion, the angst, and the building of tension from a decade ago to now was simply perfect.
I’m such a sucker for second chance romance and this easily takes the cake. The pacing was perfect, and I loved being able to see what went wrong the first time and how Denver and Blair grew from it. I had all the emotions hitting throughout this read as well. And I loved getting to see more of the backstory of some of the other characters I already love in this series!

In a crowded genre, Bailey Hannah has created characters that feel real and that is the magic of this book. A dual POV featuring a rakish cowboy who has never gotten over his first love, and a nurse practitioner in her thirties balancing the pressures of caregiving for her parents, nephew, friend who has just given birth, and a difficult boss whilst navigating a return to her hometown. With heartache still raw fourteen years after their childhood romance, this story features realistic plot lines (check the trigger warnings) and a second chance romance that feels as fresh as it is realistic. Highly recommend picking this one up, will appeal to fans of Elsie Silver, Lyla Sage & Jessica Peterson.

I have been waiting for this book, and I can tell you, it definitely didn’t disappoint! Denver and Blair’s story was teased in the first two books in this interconnected standalone series, so I was so ready to see it.

This is one of the things I love about second chance romances, which is always the right person, wrong time view of it. These two fell in love when they were young, but they weren’t ready, and it is masterfully shown through dual pov flashback sequences. This structure really worked for me.

I also loved how the integrated mental and physical health and family struggles throughout the book, as it was a vehicle to help these two figure out where they wanted to go.

My favorite no-context quote from this book was “Live, Laugh, Lexapro”

I loved this story and can’t wait to see what comes next from Bailey Hannah!

I am so grateful to be able to receive an ARC copy of Change of Hart by Bailey Hannah. I was first introduced to her in the end of 2023 with her book Alive and Wells. I have been anticipating Denver’s story for some time now and I was not disappointed.

Denver and Blair were both so young when they fell in love and you could feel how pure it was. I felt like I was experiencing their first love with them. As their story progressed, Bailey Hannah was able to write in a way that allows the reader to feel like they are experiencing all the emotions Denver and Bailey with them.

Bailey Hannah did a great job describing Blair’s feelings about Denver’s past after she left. I felt the heartache and pain with her. When Denver’s world comes crashing down, I felt like I was with him in Blair’s dorm room. My heart was soaring when Denver and Blair rekindled their relationship.

I fell more in love with Bailey Hannah and I am so excited to read her books in the future.
