The Wells Ranch series has been really fun to discover and I was super excited to get a copy of Change of Hart after waiting what seemed like forever! Bailey stays true to her writing style and the aesthetic of the Wells Canyon world in the third installment of this series.
I liked the tropes (second chance, childhood sweethearts) and the setup for Denver and Blair and the dual timeline was done well. I like that Bailey consistently tackles tougher topics, giving her books a bit more depth than the average cowboy romance.
I felt like the story was not as fully developed as it could have been, specifically in the present timeline and how quickly Denver and Blair fell back into a relationship without sorting through any of their past. I would have liked to see a little more rebuilding of their relationship.
Overall, though, this was enjoyable and feels like a good fit with the rest of the series. I really like the world Bailey has created in Wells Ranch and will be eager to read more.

Change of Hart by Bailey Hannah
Blair and Denver were high school sweethearts and haven’t seen each other since their breakup almost 14 years ago. When her mother is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s, Blair moves back to Wells Canyon to help care for her. Denver wants a second chance for their relationship and sets out to capture Blair's heart again, but she's reluctant to trust him. Seems he has quite the playboy reputation, now.
This second chance, cowboy romance is the third book in the Wells Ranch series. There are two timelines, past and present, both told from Blair and Denver’s first person points of view. Hannah does a great job keeping us wondering what caused the breakup years ago, until truth is finally revealed.
I loved that Blair is tall, just under six feet. This is refreshing given how many petite female main characters there are in romance novels. As always, Hannah does a great job describing the sights and sounds and smells of Wells Canyon, making the small town setting come alive for me.
I didn’t want to like Denver, but he’s darned irresistible trying to win Blair back.
Highly recommended for those who like cowboy or small town romance.

This was so good. Bailey Hannah’s writing style really makes you feel like you’re sitting there with the characters and truly part of the book. I went through every emotion while reading Change of Hart and will be loudly recommending it to everyone I know.

Oh. My. Goodness.
I knew going into this that Denver was gonna be everything, but I wasn’t expecting to be swept off my feet by Blair 😍🥵
I love that her character is very relatable. Her struggles with anxiety & trust, while wanting to be everything for everyone else. I appreciate that she knew her worth (past & present) & still always managed to make the decisions best for her even when things were hard. But Denver’s unapologetic character growth had me swooning 🫠
But the MOUTHS in this book 👀 I am obsessed with dirty talking cowboys but Blair put them to shame 😏
I love a down bad obsessed cowboy & as usual Bailey delivered 😍

I loved this!
Denver and Blair’s story is such a journey. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll think you’re finally done crying and you’ll be crying again but I love every minute of it.
Denver and Blair are high school sweethearts who separated 14 years but now Blair is back in town as the new nurse practitioner. The story is told in dual timelines which I felt only elevated the story, you get to see them fall in love as kids and heal and love each other again as adults and it’s just everything.
I can’t recommend this enough. You should definitely read it!
Thank you Random House Publishing Group for this ARC!

Did this book WRECK my emotions? Yes but I knew as soon as it was dual timeline and prepared my tissues. Me and my emotional support kindle welcomed the tears with open arms 🤣
This is one of my favorite small town cowboy romance series. These characters feel so real, Bailey has a way with writing their experiences & so much emotional depth that you can’t help but attach yourself to these characters and love them! & don’t get me started on the found family, it is done so well!!
I’ve loved Denny’s care free personality since the beginning and I never expected for his back story to really grasp at me the way it did. The moment Blair was back in the picture he threw that playboy act out the window and only had eyes for her! He was such a sweetheart and so flirtatious with her, how was Blair not supposed to crack in his presence!
& my girl Blair, wow I resonated so much with her and her feelings during certain circumstances. She was a tough shell to crack and none other than Denny would have been able to tear down those walls. Their connection, chemistry & backstory was so easy to read & love! Rooting for both of them every step of the way!
I love this world & characters even more now! The way Bailey writes about love & their real life experiences is something so special and I’m so thankful to have stumbled upon her books last year !

Absolutely loved it! I'm a sucker for second chance romance and I ate this book up! Just when I think the series cannot get any better it. Denver was so cute and sweet with Blair. I cannot wait for the next one in the series!

I think this one is my new favorite in the Wells Ranch series. Denver LOVES Blair with his whole heart and it was so sweet to watch them grow from childhood friends to grown adults 💙 This book had me giggling, laughing out loud and SOBBING at times. I’d give it 6 stars if I could!

I love me a good cowboy romance, especially one that is also a family series! This book checked all the boxes, spicy and sweet, second changes, found family, dual POV, and flashbacks. I hope we get more in this series! I feel like we need Jackson and Kate's story!

Tropes:
❤️🔥 High School Sweethearts
❤️🔥 Barrel Racer x Saddlebrone
❤️🔥 Dual Timeline
❤️🔥 Second Chance
❤️🔥 Ice Cream
❤️🔥 Reformed Playboy
What does she put into these books because I am addicted.
I have loved every book more and more. Now Denny's Story took the cake errrr ice cream?
I really loved the way she wrote this book. See where Denny and Bliar started to present day was really nice. I loved getting flash backs by age and seeing how their relationship progressed.
Seeing both perspectives on the same timeline was amazing, you also got to see how both were feeling within the same moments.
This story had so many parts where I was crying it was heart breaking to see the hurt everyone went through there was so much raw emotion.
I also really liked the fact that any s3x moments when they were minors was fade to black, anything spicy (and it gets so spicy) was once they were adults.
The mouth on both Denny and Blair made me wonder if I wanted Denny, Blair, or to be the 3rd.

Waiting for "Change of Hart" to be released was a longggg wait, but it was so worth it!! Denver Wells, aka Denny, did not take 1st place in the Men of Wells Ranch (Red still holds that title) but man, oh man was he worth waiting for!! He waited for Blair for soooo long to come back home, and when she did? That was it for him. The story lines surrounding Blairs mom were a little hard to read, because the memory loss hit home for me, but the author did an incredible job portraying it.

I loved the first two books in this series and this one was no exception. I was immediately sucked in and couldn’t put it down.
Denver and Blair were both such interesting and lovable characters, with great chemistry together. Their dialogue was funny and entertaining, and I loved reading the dual point of views to see how much they both pined for each other for literally more than a decade.
Denver was so sweet to Blair and top notch book boyfriend material. His character was written so well that you just can’t help but fall in love.
As the masochist I am, the heart wrenching things both of them endured in their life just added so much to the story and their feelings, trials and tribulations in life really made them feel real. This was another one of those “hurts so good” scenarios that just hits you in the feels, and I LOVE IT.
I so appreciated the mental health reps and normalization of it in the book, and the lack of a third act breakup.
All in all, 10/10 highly recommend this steamy, have you begging for more, cowboy romance!

I just finished and I’m trying so hard not to cry at work. I loved Denver and Blair’s story so much. Second chance is always emotional and this one was no different. I loved the dual timeline because you got to see how their relationship started and bloomed and then the issue that caused them to blow up.
The moment Denver saw Blair after 14 years and fell of his bronc, he knew he wasn’t letting her go again. He went full send on winning his girl back and getting her to trust him again. NO way was Denver loosing Blair a second time. The boy loves hard and would truly do anything for her.
This book was perfect. Blair and Denny were perfect. Their story was emotional, broke your heart a little but at the end it mended back together stronger than before.
I don’t know how to truly express my thoughts on this book but I’ll say it again - I loved it so much

Between scenes with Lucy Wells and the flashbacks, I teared up several times while reading this book.
There is just something about the one that got away, the what might have been, and the pain of the lost time together that gets me every time. I absolutely love a second chance romance. It's one trope that can always make me emotional. Blair and Denver's story was no different, yet in the details it was. The way Bailey Hannah conveyed the intense true love these two had for each other even at such a young age was perfection. I loved the flashbacks where she somehow managed to write from the perspective of a teenager with accuracy while also emoting the intensity of Blair and Denver's very adult feelings for each other.
Blair might have been one of my favorite FMC's I have read in a long time. She is dealing with so much, and is so real with it. And Denver, Ahh! Until this point, I had never found one I liked wholly but Denver is the perfect cinnamon roll, doing what he can to make up for the past. At no point in reading this book did I feel like either of these characters and their emotions were unrealistic. I was totally immersed in this book because their story felt so REAL and RAW to me.
The spice was spicing with these two. Loved how Blair could let Denver take control but could also let her "good boy" know what she liked.
Other things I loved: main characters in their 30's, dual POV, interconnection with other books in the Wells Ranch series
Thank you Netgalley for this advanced copy!

4.5★
Blair Hart!! I love her sm. She was so strong and admirable. Honestly, what she went through, I don’t know if I would have had the same attitude as her but either way, I loved Denver. I loved how the second he saw her again, he was all in.
I really enjoyed the dual time line in this. As the #1 fan of the second chance trope, I don’t always find dual time lines necessary, but in Blair and Denver’s story, I did.
I’m not going to give away the why they didn’t work the first time. But all of the ways they worked the second time had me so giddy. I loved the chemistry between these two. It never left after so much time and I admired that. Blair and Denver were truly meant to be and they’re without a doubt my favorite in the series by far, I love them so much!
Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group for the ARC.

Big thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for a free copy of Change of Hart in exchange for an honest review.
Alexa, play "In a World Gone Wrong" by Zach Top. ❤️🩹
Who in their right mind doesn't love a good second-chance romance? It's my favorite of the Wells Ranch series by far.
Childhood best friends to lovers.. Lovers to, well, NOTHING. 😭 This was a tear jerker in the best way possible. Getting to experience Denver and Blair fall in love as teenagers. Then to experience the hurt of a first heartbreak in what felt like real time. Bailey's writing was potent and truly moving. I found myself crying, chest literally aching. The next thing you know, I'm laughing at the easy banter. The plot deals with heavy topics such as Alzhimers and cancer. I think the author cared about these characters deeply, and it shows. ❤️
On a final, much spicier note, Blair calls Denny a "good boy" and makes him whimper. I loved that immensely. It was hot. 🥵

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
if I could give this 10 stars, I would 😮💨
I have been kicking and screaming since I got this ARC because I just cannot believe I finally got to read about Denver and Blair. This is the third book in the Wells Ranch series and focuses on Denver and Blair who were high school sweethearts. We get to read about the start of their relationship to the downfall that breaks them. I loved their little game of 5 seconds of honesty. I bawled like a baby so many time and felt so many heart wrenching emotions while reading.
Blair is strong and resilient. She grew so much throughout the book and taking care of everyone but herself, she is selfless. Learning about her and what she went through and how she is healing was so eye opening and also had me crying. She deserves so much in life. She knew the choices she made broke herself and her relationship but was never willing to lose herself to her choices.
Denver is so pure and sweet and kind. He is so in love with Blair and wasn't afraid to show her just how much she meant to him. He went through so much trauma and overcame so much. He is so thoughtful and was so quick to take care of Blair when she needed it when they were reunited. He made mistakes and owned up to them. He was ready to prove to her that he was all in and not a chance was he going to let her go.
If you love a second chance cowboy romance - this is the book for you. You will cry and giggle and smile. 🩵

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing group for this early copy of Change of Hart by Hannah Wells. This is the third book I have read in the Wells Ranch Series.
I found Blair to be very relatable. She is fiercely protective of those she loves, determined to meet her goals but honest with her anxiety and fears.
I’m typically not a huge fan of second chance romances (why did he wait 14 years to fight for her!?) but Denny Wells does big romantic gestures very well. He continues to show up for her again and again when she finally comes back to town.
I liked how the book handled the rawness of grief and the realness of Alzheimer’s disease. Blair’s relationship with Lucy was one of my favorite parts of this novel. Even though I disagreed with Blair’s decision to end her teenage pregnancy, I could feel the complexity of her choice.
I love revisiting old characters in interconnected standalones and this book had plenty of Austin and Chase from Alive and Wells and Seeing Red.
Change of Hart is a great second chance romance full of realistic mental health situations and growth of the main characters. I would definitely recommend.

Thank you for the arc!!!
I literally could not put this down. Such a good second chance ! Especially loved the glimpse from their teenage years.
This book put me through all the feels.

4.5 stars, rounded up! This was such a good cowboy, second chance romance!! Denver is so down bad throughout the entire story and I LOVE. I love when second chances books are dual timeline. Getting to see how their relationship began to where Blair and Denver are present day added so much to their story and the emotions between them.
Blair and Denny were inseparable when they were younger but after an event that rips them apart, they basically never see each other for over 10 years. When Blair comes back to their hometown to help care for her sick mother, sparks fly again!
