Alexa, play "In a World Gone Wrong" by Zach Top. ❤️‍🩹

Who in their right mind doesn't love a good second-chance romance? It's my favorite of the Wells Ranch series by far.

Childhood best friends to lovers.. Lovers to, well, NOTHING. 😭 This was a tear jerker in the best way possible. Getting to experience Denver and Blair fall in love as teenagers. Then to experience the hurt of a first heartbreak in what felt like real time. Bailey's writing was potent and truly moving. I found myself crying, chest literally aching. The next thing you know, I'm laughing at the easy banter. The plot deals with heavy topics such as Alzhimers and cancer. I think the author cared about these characters deeply, and it shows. ❤️
On a final, much spicier note, Blair calls Denny a "good boy" and makes him whimper. I loved that immensely. It was hot. 🥵

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

if I could give this 10 stars, I would 😮‍💨

I have been kicking and screaming since I got this ARC because I just cannot believe I finally got to read about Denver and Blair. This is the third book in the Wells Ranch series and focuses on Denver and Blair who were high school sweethearts. We get to read about the start of their relationship to the downfall that breaks them. I loved their little game of 5 seconds of honesty. I bawled like a baby so many time and felt so many heart wrenching emotions while reading.

Blair is strong and resilient. She grew so much throughout the book and taking care of everyone but herself, she is selfless. Learning about her and what she went through and how she is healing was so eye opening and also had me crying. She deserves so much in life. She knew the choices she made broke herself and her relationship but was never willing to lose herself to her choices.

Denver is so pure and sweet and kind. He is so in love with Blair and wasn't afraid to show her just how much she meant to him. He went through so much trauma and overcame so much. He is so thoughtful and was so quick to take care of Blair when she needed it when they were reunited. He made mistakes and owned up to them. He was ready to prove to her that he was all in and not a chance was he going to let her go.

If you love a second chance cowboy romance - this is the book for you. You will cry and giggle and smile. 🩵

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing group for this early copy of Change of Hart by Hannah Wells. This is the third book I have read in the Wells Ranch Series.

I found Blair to be very relatable. She is fiercely protective of those she loves, determined to meet her goals but honest with her anxiety and fears.

I’m typically not a huge fan of second chance romances (why did he wait 14 years to fight for her!?) but Denny Wells does big romantic gestures very well. He continues to show up for her again and again when she finally comes back to town.

I liked how the book handled the rawness of grief and the realness of Alzheimer’s disease. Blair’s relationship with Lucy was one of my favorite parts of this novel. Even though I disagreed with Blair’s decision to end her teenage pregnancy, I could feel the complexity of her choice.

I love revisiting old characters in interconnected standalones and this book had plenty of Austin and Chase from Alive and Wells and Seeing Red.

Change of Hart is a great second chance romance full of realistic mental health situations and growth of the main characters. I would definitely recommend.

4.5 stars, rounded up! This was such a good cowboy, second chance romance!! Denver is so down bad throughout the entire story and I LOVE. I love when second chances books are dual timeline. Getting to see how their relationship began to where Blair and Denver are present day added so much to their story and the emotions between them.
Blair and Denny were inseparable when they were younger but after an event that rips them apart, they basically never see each other for over 10 years. When Blair comes back to their hometown to help care for her sick mother, sparks fly again!

I loved the first book in this series and for some reason I thought I had read and loved the second book as well but seems I didn't read it yet. That being said, this was a lovely, sweet, heartfelt novel and I absolutely adored Denny. This was a bit of an emotional read but I am a sucker for a well done second chance romance and this one delivers. The steamy scenes in this were divine and I couldn't get enough. I just loved these two together.

I cannot wait to go back and read the second book in this series and future books from this author.

Blair and Denver’s story was an emotional ride. I really enjoyed seeing the story through both timelines of them as kids and adults. It leaves room to understand all their motivations and feelings from every angle. The quintessential small town cowboy romance, wrapped up with all different kinds of grief and life experiences

Bailey does it again! I never imagined Denny Wells would be so tender, but he certainly is, and I love it. The way Bailey writes such diverse cowboys is so fun. Austin, Red, and Denny are nothing alike except in how they love their partners so fiercely.
Thank you to Dell for the ARC and Bailey for writing some of my favorite cowboy romances.
At the start of this book, all you know is that Denny and Blair were once childhood friends and had a romantic relationship in high school. (I love a good friends-to-lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers story!) You get peeks of their current relationship in the first two books, but you don’t know much.
Blair has returned home to their small town to help take care of her mother, who has been recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Instead, she ends up taking care of everyone in her life. How Bailey had Denny helping her pick up the pieces she was burdened with is what romance is about. It’s him seeing her when no one else does.
There was that fantastic push and pull in the beginning that I love so much, and their journey back to each other felt so natural. LOVE!
I loved the tall girl rep! Blair is just under 6 feet, but that doesn’t stop Denny from throwing her around the bedroom. Haha.
The one-liners that infused how much she means to him hit so hard.
Another great cowboy romance from Bailey Hannah!

Emotional, raw, tough to stomach but worth it. Hands down one of the best books I’ve ever read. You are pulled in from page 1 and the whole book is a rollercoaster of emotions! Bailey has outdone herself here and it truly shows!!

4.5 stars. There hasn't been a book in the Wells Ranch series that hasn't blown me away, but for some reason this one hit hard. As someone with a loved one who suffered with Alzheimer's disease, this was equal parts brutal, and also healing. As someone going to school to be an NP, this also warmed my soul. There was so much I connected to in this, and all of the praises to Bailey for making it so easy to connect with. I absolutely loved Denver and Blair.

Thank you so much to Dell and NetGalley for this ARC!

I loved Alive and Wells, so I was so pumped for this one. Blair and Denver were childhood sweethearts. They’re were each other’s first everything. They were there for each other, especially when Denver’s mom became sick.

It’s been 14 years since they broke up but now she’s back in her home town. Denver sees her and wants to win her back. Blair is helping take care of her mother and has a lot on her plate as a nurse practitioner. She doesn’t have time for another broken heart.

The story is told through past and present timelines. I really loved learning about the couple from the past and now the adult pair. Denver and Blair both had a hand in their demise. Now, Blair can’t trust Denver’s playboy ways.

They can’t deny they still love each other!

I loved Denver and how determined he was to help Blair. He wanted to prove he could be there for her. When I found out what happened when they broke up, I was mad at both of them. In the end I was a bit more mad at Denver lol. I’m so glad these two found each other again, picked up where they left off, and had their HEA 🩵

ARC review!

I was so excited to get an ARC of this book! I’ve loved every other book in this series, but this one may be my favorite!

This book is about Blair and Denver. They’ve known each other since they were teens, and loved each other practically since the beginning.

I love that we got to read about Blair and Denver in the past and then present to see how their relationship progressed. We get to read about their ups and the downfall that halted their relationship for years.

We also get to see the struggles they are both going through throughout this book. Blair moved back home to help take care of her mom who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and we see how that affects her. Denver dealt with grief of his own when his mother passed away. With both of these hard times, they were there for each other.

The love these two had for each other was everything! They both never got over each other, even after so much time apart. I loved the happy ending they got!

Thank you so much Bailey Hannah and Netgalley for this ARC!

Lord, thank you for Denver Wells, amen 🙌🏻

“4,982 nights. That’s how many nights I’ve spent missing her.”

This book was a masterpiece in second chance love. To follow the dual timeline and watch their love begin as teenagers and to watch it fall apart just to see them come back together as adults was healing and the redemption of their past was beautifully done 🥹

It’s hard to carry the hurt of young love and still place that blame on the adult they become - and the way Bailey writes it takes you along for the ride. Watching Denver stop everything and only have eyes for Blair once she was back was everything. I mean literally EVERYTHING. . . there was never anyone else and he proved it over and over again. It was in the way he watched her, in the moments he showed up for her, in her most vulnerable moments where he didn’t judge her. The absolute beauty of a man that just continues to show up for the woman he loves; and how as an adult he understands where he fucked up the first time. But don’t we all at 18 🤷🏼‍♀️

I love how complicated Blair’s life had become and how she tried so hard to move on knowing that all she wanted was Denny and Wells Ranch; that it’s the place where her soul was the most at peace. Watching a strong, smart, independent woman be honest with herself about what she wants was phenomenal. Where we look at the thing we worked hard for and thought we wanted aren’t actually what makes us happy. And we’ve all been in a place where we question if our heart and our head are on the same page and how frustrating it can be when they aren’t.

Bailey continues to make Wells Canyon one of my favorite places to visit and Blair and Denver made my trip so worth it 🤍

Again Bailey Hannah fucking SLAPS the shit out of me with a man I would move to Canada for… Just when you think she can’t top Aus, then Red, now Denny I mean come on!

The things I loved: the dual timeline and dual POV, getting to learn more about the Wells boys’ mom and how amazing she was, seeing Kate arrive in their lives, and getting to see all the ladies together! I loved Blair and Cassidy’s friendship!

The things that KILLED ME: Denny crawling 🥵, the way he refused to give up on his love for her, and how loud his love was once he had her back!! I know what it’s like to not want to ask for help, and Blair’s growth to let him back in was *everything*!!!

I CANNT STOP LOVING THESE MEN
WHAT DOES CANADA HAVE IN THE WATER?!

Being back in my fav place with my fav couple 🥰

I literally couldn't imagine this story being any better than it was. Bailey completely outdid herself with Blair and Denny. This book was the most amazing childhood friends to lovers, second chance romance I ever could have asked for. I've been in love with Denny since he first showed up in Austin's book and I was SO excited when NetGalley sent me the approval for this ARC. I wish I could give them an infinite amount of stars.

They fell in love so young and were ready to face the world together. But when one decision pushes them apart, Blair avoids Denny any time she comes back to town. And Denny never truly moves on, and turns to being a player instead. But when Blair moves back home, Denver falls off his horse (in typical Denny fashion) and he's willing to do anything to get her to stay this time. He isn't willing to let her get away.

These two are the definition of perfect for each other. The love they feel for each other is undeniable. I couldn't put the book down, but I wasn't ready for it to end. I could read about their entire lives together and be perfectly content. The dual timeline both broke me, and made me swoon.

I swear this is the best in the series and I know it'll only get better from here.

tropes:
- childhood friends
- cowboy
- dual timeline
- forced proximity
- friends to lovers
- reformed playboy
- secret tattoo
- second chance

Change of Hart is Bailey Hannah’s best book yet. I’m not usually a huge enjoyer of second chance romances, but I thought this one was executed just as well as one might be. The flashbacks detailing Blair and Denver’s relationship were so sweet, and when they culminate in their original romance’s ending I didn’t overly blame one character for it or find one of their actions unforgivable. You could understand both sides and empathize.

Denver in the present timeline is such a good male lead. He decides pretty much as soon as he sees Blair again that he’s going to go for his second chance and he treats her so well. There wasn’t a moment where I was irritated with his behavior. His love for Blair was so evident and I was rooting for him the whole way through. My small nitpick is that his family kind of treated him like he was an untrustworthy screwup and Blair was also untrusting of him to a degree for a while in a way that I don’t think he earned, even by the end of the flashbacks. That wasn’t a huge detractor for me at all though.

Bailey Hannah really managed to make me believe these two characters were meant to be in this book and it was just a very romantic read. I’ll definitely be tuned in for whatever comes next from her!
