This was such a fun and horny FF romance! Mechanic & audiobook narrator, small town vibes, big family that cares, instant chemistry between the leads.

The narration was great, the chemistry worked so well, vibes were vibing! Enjoyable listen :)

Thank you to NetGalley for the ALC of this book!

I was first drawn in by this cover. It's GORGEOUS. And I really enjoyed reading about Vini in the first book.

This one is well written and sweet and sapphic and lovely and I enjoyed the story!

It did fall a little flat for me in that most of the emotional depth comes towards the end. There are a lot of spicy scenes in this book that could have given way for a deeper connection and vulnerability between the characters that I felt like was missing.

This was a cute and quick read with a 3rd arc breakup that did not make me want to fight anyone. I liked that Jessica is of mixed race but it doesn't become a "thing" of the story. Her and Vini are able to just be people.

It took a while for me to really feel the spark between Jessica and Vini. I was happy that they were pretty communicative about themselves except for when it started to feel too real. Seeing everyone knew about them (sans Ava) but them was hilarious. Her blowup was annoying but I'm glad she came around quickly enough that it wasn't a large part of the story.

The ending was cute. Shoutout to Jessica's parents for slapping her awake and for the reuniting in the same way they met each other. This would make a cute movie!

Solid 3.5.

This book was so FUN! I really enjoyed the dynamics between the two MCs. The banter and bickering was just too perfect. Plus a female mechanic is ALWAYS a great idea.

Really fun book. Definitely going to look for more work from Karmen Lee!

This was unfortunately not for me. I would recommend this to someone looking for a lighthearted and cozy small town romance with a good amount of spice. But for me it was a little *too* cozy. I tend to like romances that are lighthearted and goofy, but do have an emotional core.

The narrator did a good job creating different voices for all of the characters and matched the tone of the book.

I am absolutely adoring everything Karmen Lee puts out.

A few things I loved…
- the length & pacing
- sapphic mechanic? Sign me up & pop my tires I am SAT.
- small town cozy romance
- THE CHEMISTRY!!!!!

I enjoyed the character development, especially with the over protective older siblings having to realize the younger one is an adult too!!!

I really enjoyed The Relationship Mechanic! This is a very spicy sapphic romance that starts when Jessica's rental car breaks down on her way to visit a small town and the lady mechanic who helps her out is very, very good looking!

I thought this story was smart, fun, and immensely relatable. And I was particularly impressed by how well written the romance was! I can't wait to recommend this to friends and followers.

The daughter of an actress heading to a small town to escape a recent scandal and a cute mechanic hit it off and have a fling in this fun, spicy romance. Jessica has sworn off flings for the duration of her stay in Peach Blossom, Georgia. But she throws out that plan pretty much instantaneously after meeting the town's cute mechanic when her rental car breaks down. Vinnie's instant attraction to Jessica makes falling in bed with her easy, but when she starts to feel more the easy fun they've been having becomes a lot more complicated. Jessica still isn't sure what to do with the feelings she has for Vinnie. With an end date fast approaching on her time in Peach Blossom, will they be able to figure out what they want--and what they're willing to sacrifice--for the chance at something more?

Sweet, spicy, and sapphic--just the way I like it!

Delightful small town sapphic romance that is equally sexy and cozy! The Relationship Mechanic follows Vinny, the owner of an auto repair shop, falling for a woman who is only in town for a few weeks and never settles anywhere. Jessica is hiding from the fallout of being caught with two of her actress mom's co-stars, staying with a friend for a few weeks.

The chemistry between the two is instant. What's between them is only supposed to a short term, no-strings-attached fling, but hearts get more involved than anyone planned on. I really enjoyed this, and I also like how it addresses over-protective older siblings needing to realize the younger ones are adults who can make their own choices. I didn't love the audio narrator though, especially for how spicy this book gets. She sounded very matter of fact, like reading off a list of things happening instead of evoking the feelings of the characters if that makes sense. Otherwise though, the actual story was good. I received an audio review copy via NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

I wasn't aware that this was a book 2 when I signed up for it but it worked well as a standalone.

A sapphic romance with women of color. A situationship at its finest. Steamy scenes, playful banter, and a cozy little town. I do wish we had gotten to know the characters more, they seemed a little one dimensional but overall I really enjoyed.

I received an audio copy of this book. The characters were easily distinguishable and the narrator was easy to listen to at an increased speed.

I unfortunately listened to 15% of this and just can't get into it. I was really excited for this too. I’m not sure if its the narrator or the writing, it just isn't a good fit for me.

This book moves super fast (which I get it's less than 300 pages), so I'm not sure if I blinked and missed some of the set-up or it just wasn't there. Jessica was really an enigma of a character and I felt like all through the story more little pieces of lore and information of her got dropped, but I felt like something was missing when they all came together.

I get that they are an opposites attract & small town girl x city girl but I felt like how secretive and almost forbidden them hooking up was treated didn't really make sense to me. But boy was I PISSED off with Ava's reaction when she discovers about the two of them. Major ick.

I just felt like something was missing with this for me, but I think if you are looking for a quick and fun read you'd enjoy this book. Thank you Harlequin Audio for an ALC of The Relationship Mechanic.

Jessica’s rental car break down right outside of a small town. Vini being the nearest mechanic, gets the call to come save her. They’re attracted to each other, they flirt a little and quickly they start a casual relationship. Then they struggle with the casualness of their relationship. Jessica is supposed to leave soon but catching feelings might keep her in the small town.

The cover is absolutely stunning. The main reason why I picked this up. A sapphic romance? A sapphic romance where one of the main characters is a mechanic? Yes, please!!

For me, this started off really strong for me. I was invested in their relationship, rooting for them. But the situationship of it all and the way the avoided the topic, got old QUICK. and the third act breakup had me mentally clocked out. The spice was really good. And they shared so many cute moments, like loved them meeting each other’s families. Or Vini teaching Jessica about cars. Definitely interested in reading about the other characters, follow up books.

I listened to the audio book version of this and really enjoyed the narration. I felt like the narrator did a great job. The two characters were very distinguishable. Was able to listen to it at my normal 2X - 2.5x speed just fine.

I received a copy from Net Galley. Thank you!

I wanted to love The Relationship Mechanic more than I did. Don't get me wrong, I did not hate it. I love a cozy small town romance and it's great seeing a sapphic love story with diverse leads. Vini is charming as a female Black mechanic (Love a woman in a male dominated field) and Jessica brings an interesting angle as a Korean-Black voice actress hiding out from scandal in Peach Blossom, Georgia.
The bones are good, I just kept waiting for more meat on them. The characters felt thin and surface to me, and while their chemistry works, we skip over a lot relationship and character development in favor of steamy scenes (of which there are many, if that's your thing). I found myself skimming looking for more story.
Lee's writing flows well. It's a quick, easy read with pretty low angst. No content warnings really come to mind, which can be refreshing. I just wanted more happening beyond the romance itself. I can read erotica for a sex scene in almost every chapter.

3.5 stars from me. It's fine! If you're in the mood for a light, steamy romance with a charming small-town vibe, go for it.

I was just approved for this but purchased it on release date and listen to it. I really enjoyed the audiobook narrator. I was not that big of a fan of the book but the audiobook really was able to push me through. The narrators voice was very clear and light which I loved. I was also able to feel the characters emotions more than just from the page.

4.5⭐️

I was so excited to get this new release in the mail because it combines three of my favorite things: small town, sizzling spice, and a sweet sapphic romance! I had the best time with these characters and loved watching the friendship, chemistry, and romance between Vini and Jessica unfold. I also really loved the moments between Vini and her siblings - I couldn’t help but laugh because their verbal jests sparring were SO relatable - and how protective and supportive they were of each other.

The audiobook narration was stellar and was full of emotion, humor, hope, and sizzling steam!

This was pretty mid in my opinion.

It’s basically just the MCs hooking up in secret and with no strings attached the whole time which in theory is fine. However, I never felt a connection or real chemistry between them and I thought it was annoying that the major obstacle in their way was what the older sister would think. She needed to mind her own business.

The narrator for this did a good job though!
