Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The original series is what pushed me into reading this genre again so I was excited when she announced she would go back into this world. I feel like we really learned more about the world in this duology more than the first and I really enjoyed going into more depth. The only thing that I didn't like is that I feel like this duology made me not like the original characters as much and maybe that's because we had rose tinted glasses on in the first but I went from liking those characters to not so much. I do think this book does do a good job of wrapping everything up though and it was nice to see some mental health rep in this series instead of the main character going through something traumatic and then just never speaking of it again. I'd probably rate a 3.5 out of 5!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
Every so often, you read a book that touches your soul in a way you didn’t even know you needed. When I read Beneath These Cursed Stars, that book did that for me. Then, as I read Between These Broken Hearts it brought that feeling full circle. This book was a perfect completion to the journey these characters were on for so long.
The story picks up eight months after Beneath These Cursed Stars ends and takes you on an exciting and often times chaotic adventure for both Jasalyn and Felicity. It’s a journey for both characters to discover who they are beneath all their insecurities and fears, and there is such growth shown on both their parts. Throughout the book you’re able to feel the connections between the characters and how they find strength not only in the ones they love but in themselves as well. It’s a story of healing from horrible traumas and of finding hope again.
I absolutely loved this book. I loved that Lexi Ryan was able to capture the essence of anxiety and depression in these characters. I loved how she was able to show that even though it’s not easy, there’s light to be found in the darkness. As someone who has struggled with anxiety and depression, I connected with these characters so much.

Thank you to Netgalley and HarperCollins for providing me with a digital arc of this book!
Between These Broken Hearts is book 4 in the These Hollow Vows series and book 2 in the spin-off series following Jazalyn, Abriella's sister. Without spoiling too much, this book picks up months after the events of the previous book, Beneath These Cursed Stars, and both Jaz and Felicity have gone missing. With only 11 days left to live, Jaz must reconcile with her dwindling trust in her friends and the burden she feels towards her family. Felicity must deal with the fact that the fae male she loves fell in love with her in a different body and that now he hates her. She must also kill her father knowing that it could lead to her brother's death.
This book was expertly done and a true work of art. I am so excited I got to read it early because I have been pining after the two main relationships. Lexi Ryan had a huge task ahead of her with tying up loose ends and providing an emotional weight that was respectful of people with mental health issues. She did all of that and more. Somehow she made me care about Abriella in the first two books and then even more about her sister in the next two. Jaz's storyline is one of the most intriguing stories I have ever heard. She goes from a bright, bubbly, and hopeful little girl to a shell of herself after being imprisoned and tortured by Mordeus. She wants nothing more than to die until she meets Kendrick and his friends and realizes that what she wants is to live and fight for the love she has and feels in her life. Her story was one of the most faithful and astonishing depictions of mental illness that I have ever seen. It makes me emotional thinking about it because I feel so deeply for Jaz and everything she had to endure. The ending... I was so proud of Jaz for everything she accomplished!
My only note is that I would have liked to see more fo Finn in this book and the previous one, but that is a minor complaint. This book is hands down one of the best I have read this year. I will not stop until I have convinced everyone to read this series. 6/5 stars, but that's not possible so 5/5 stars.

I loved the These Hollow Vows duology. Like 5 stars. Rant about it 24/7. LOVED.
I enjoyed the first book in this series, but I didn't love it as much. I was really excited to see that book two was up for reading!
I don't know what is wrong with me! But I can't get into this one 😳 I'm convinced it is me. It is not the book!
But until I'm about to sit down and actually read it, I don't feel like I deserve to have this arc. I'm terribly sorry this reading slump is for real. So I'll leave my review by saying how much I liked the other 3 books. And trust me!!! You want to read this YA series
I'm rating it 4 stars because Inknow it will not dissappear me and I can't wait to share a better review.

**3.5 STARS**
Content Warning: violence, death
This is the conclusion to the These Hollow Vows series and I think it was a good conclusion which tied up lots of loose ends.
Jas is running out of time and they are all racing against time to try and figure out how to save her. She goes through so much in this book and she even tries her best to defeat the enemies alone but it’s obvious she can’t do that. I love her blooming relationship with Kendrick. They have both been tested and I was rooting for their love.
As for Felicity, she has a role in this prophecy about her being the one to kill her evil father – but the consequence is losing her brother Kendrick so she has some tough decisions to make. As for her romance with Misha, I was also rooting for them! I did want Felicity to stop discounting herself, because it’s a big issue between her and Misha. But I love both romance storylines going on. I am also glad Felicity gets to finally hear her real brother out, Konner.
Final Thoughts:
I thought this was a solid conclusion to this series! The loose ends are tied up, some of them with a sad ending, but there is so much love and hope as well. The trauma and growth Jas went through is amazing and Felicity’s growth and strength was admirable too. I enjoyed both girls’ stories and romances. If you loved the previous books in the series, I’m sure you will enjoy this one.

This is the kind of romantasy that I enjoy. There is pinning and teasing, but nothing over the top spicy. (like behind closed doors). I enjoyed this and can't wait to see what else Lexi Ryan comes up with - either in this world or something else!

First I want to thank NetGalley and HarperCollins for approving this arc! I jumped and screamed!!
This book was on my priority list for this year’s releases and I was not disappointed from Lexi Ryan she delivered👏🏼 I would suggest refreshing yourself with Beneath these Cursed Stars, there is a lot of info dumping yet answers all of our questions that we’ve been yearning for! The magic elements, the friendships, the hardships, the history, the character growth is a true recipe to a good novel. The duology tied in together so so perfectly.
This author knows how to write her fantasy books naturally and I will mention that in her author note, my heart ached for her and her family. So happy to say she has so much support in her life and to continue her writing💚
If you are looking for spice, reminder that Jasalyn is soon to be 18 and i think Felicity already is? There is some tension and teasing that leads to the spice! I wouldn’t say its closed door but just enough to get your thoughts going 😉

Eight months have passed since Jas left Kendrick and his friends behind, their memories erased by the magical ring she cannot remove. Eight months since Felicity was stolen from Misha’s dungeon, gone without a trace. In the wake of their disappearances, the Court of the Moon and Kendrick’s rebellion team up to not only find the girls, but to also find a way to save Jas and their entire realm from Mordeus before time runs out.
This second book in the Beneath These Cursed Stars duology was so fun, I finished it in only two days. I loved Jas’s overall evolution of self and self-acceptance, how she conquered her fears and harnessed them for the betterment of all those she loves. The final few chapters specifically were really wonderful in their description of overcoming hopelessness and pain, especially as it is relatable to the not so magical experience of depression. Again, I was mostly drawn to the scenes between Felicity and Misha but I was also quite intrigued by what we discovered about Felicity’s past and family.
There were times when the repeated self-doubt and miscommunication from both our FMCs was redundant, but it was easy enough to overlook. However!! The major discovery at the end of the novel which ends up being the solution to everything was so glaringly obvious that I swore it had been discussed multiple times throughout the novel? Although, I would probably need to go back and see which characters had which pieces of information because it could be that it was apparent to me because I have access to everything going on—but the revelation was evident very early on in this novel, if not the previous.
All that being said, nothing could stop me from devouring this book in two sittings and enjoying every moment of it. I found this duology to be a wonderful addition to this world Lexi Ryan has created and hope to maybe revisit it again in the future (maybe once Lark is older? Plz?).
I would like to thank NetGalley, HarperCollin’s Children’s Books, and Storytide for the ARC of this book to read and review.

3.5⭐
Okaaay. Finally, I got to read this. It's not as good as the third book hence the less half star. It was fine I guess. I don't know how they didn't know how to free Jasalyn earlier it's pretty obvious

Got approved for the eARC; thanks for Netgalley & HarperCollins Children's Books, But found out it's 4th in the series soooo to the third book we go 🏃🏻♀️

4.5 ⭐️
I am so appreciative for an ARC of this book- What a perfect ending to this duology. As someone who struggles with depression and anxiety experiencing Jas' journey was truly heart wrenching. It was so well paced and the characters arcs really developed beautifully. I loved this duology I think more than the original.
The time jump in the beginning got me a bit but I felt Ryan did a great job making you feel like you experienced all 8 months of angst. Just a heads up- there was a fair amount of light spice- more than I was anticipating in a YA book.

We are finishing up Jasalyn and Felicity’s story in this final book. Book three, Beneath These Cursed Stars, really leaves us on a cliffhanger. I really did enjoy both of these individual journeys for these main characters, and I understand why they needed to be interconnected, but it just felt like a lot. The plot with the ring, the forgetting once they saw someone in the ring, the constant feeling like they needed to do things alone all started to fell very repetitive. There were so many moving parts and it was overwhelming. I would have rather this had been a trilogy and combined book three and four and just condensed them both.
Again, I loved Kendrick and Jasalyn's chemistry as well as Misha and Felicity, the ladder being my favorite. It was a little too complicated for me and I found myself just being ready for the story to end.
Books one and two of this series will forever be one of my favorite duologues and I can’t wait to reread them one day! I highly recommend re-reading before diving into books three and four!
I will be waiting to give a review on Goodreads when more people have reviewed so that my 3 does not bring it down!

I've loved watching this series develop over the years! This duology has expanded on the world in characters in such a satisfying way. I don't normally love when sequels or sequel series follow other characters, but Ryan does such a good job of making the transition feel natural and believable. There are so many stories to tell in this world, and I could eat all of them up!

First off, thank you NetGalley and Harper Collins for the ARC of Between These Broken Hearts. I really enjoyed reading Beneath These Cursed Stars and this book was no exception. I loved the themes of fear, bravery, and healing within this duology. I think there are a lot of fantasy novels that glaze over the emotional impact of the trauma that characters within these stories face, so it was refreshing to see Jas’ character arc. One thing that knocked this book down a star for me was the relationships. I love a good slow burn and I feel like the relationships progressed really quickly and the problems that came between the two couples at the end of book one (iykyk) were resolved too quickly. With that said, the pacing within this book was good. I was never bored and the plot was always interesting. I highly recommend this book if you are a fan of These Hollow Vows, because it was great to be back in this world again and see familiar faces.

Between These Broken Hearts
By Lexi Ryan
Between These Broken Hearts is the final book in the These Hollow Vows Series. This epic finale is fast paced and filled with gripping action. Between These Broken Hearts picks up eight months later. Jas wakes up in a cottage to find out she has been asleep for months and she is just eleven days from her 18th birthday. The Enchanting Lady’s ring is still stuck on her finger. Jas must find a way to take off the ring and find the Sword of Fire to kill Mordeus. Meanwhile Felicity is being kept in a dream filled sleep, lost to Misha and Hale. Misha, Hale, and Brie are working together to find both Jas and Felicity before Mordeus comes back from the dead. Hale must take down Erith, and the 7, to bring Elora back to what it once was.
Between These Broken Hearts kept me on the edge of my seat the whole read. We traveled through many realms and Elora. We met fire breathing creatures and more goblins. We watched hearts mend and break. The conclusion to These Hollow Vows Series felt so complete and I am sad I won’t get to go back to this world anymore. Of course I will always reread this series. Lexi Ryan is a fantastic Author and I cannot wait to read whatever she comes out with next!
I rate Between These Broken Hearts 4.5 /5 Stars. I would love to see a Misha Bonus Chapter *wink wink* I love Misha and Felicity. Between These Broken Hearts is New Adult, with dark themes (such as torture, death, and suicidal thoughts)
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read Between These Broken Hearts.

Between These Broken Hearts is the stunning ending to Ryan's latest young adult fantasy series. The story follows Felicity and Jasalyn as they prepare for the fight of their lives again two enemies: Mordeus and Erith. All lives and realms are at risk until the second Princess Jasalyn turns 18; will they be able to make it right in time?
I have some strong words for Lexi Ryan; mainly: WHYYYY. I fell in love with these characters in her These Hollow Vows duology, and I was so excited when this series was announced. Between These Broken Hearts was the exact conclusion I was hoping for. I appreciate how Ryan was able to put all of her characters, specifically Jasalyn and Felicity, through all of these obstacles and showing them persevere no matter what. She showed us that strength is more than just physical; that sometimes the toughest on the outside are have intense internal battles that are even more difficult to move past. The mental health piece of this story was done with care.
The only thing that I struggled with while reading was the timeline in the first half of the book. I did get a bit confused about when we were in the time before Jasalyn turned 18 until the meet up at the castle. Overall, I truly enjoyed BTBH, and eagerly await Ryan's next work!

I am thankful to the publisher, the author and netgalley for gifting me this book in exchange for an honest review. I really loved the first installment to the series, I gave it five stars and it was one of the best Romantasy I read in 2024. Between these Broken Hearts starts right after the events of the first novel. I believe this is a great ending to the series.
There is much action, character growth and epic scenes. I did not love this as much as the first one, however. I found the conversations between Misha and Felicia repetitive. I quickly grew tired of Felicia’s victim complex, her neediness, her constant need of reassurance. Other than that, it is an immaculate book with a satisfactory ending. I will recommend this duology!

So I love this series. I’ve been in love with Misha since. These Hollow Vows so ok thrilled to see him get his love interest. Jas finally becomes at least tolerable in this book her and hale are a bit dramatic and boring but they do accomplish their goals together. The ending was a little anticlimactic but it made it was fine. Felicity is definitely my favorite and she carries the book she has reason to be worrried about her and misha and everything that’s happening, I glad we got to see more of her back ground and the other side of things. It was super fun to see things doing on in Elora and with the other ruling Seven I loved Konnor and sol they were fun additions. And it was fun seeing things from both sides, again the fight was bit anticlimactic but overall it’s a fun fae story that makes me wish we saw more of Abri and Finn. I may have to go back and reread These hollow vows

I love this duology!
This book.is packed with adventure, love, and heartbreak.
I especially love that we learn more about the story of Misha and Felicity.
Definitely recommend reading the other book first, not really a standalone.
Lexi Ryan is a fabulous writer.
Perfect for lovers of fantasy romance, book banter, and world building.

This book is everything I hoped for and more—a perfect conclusion to a series that’s been impossible to put down. The stakes are insanely high from the start, with Jasalyn racing against time to break her deadly bargain. Her journey is intense and emotional, but what stood out most was her bond with Kendrick. Their relationship felt so real, especially in those quiet, vulnerable moments. Chef’s kiss.
Felicity’s storyline hit me hard. Her disappearance and the weight of the prophecy surrounding her family made her chapters feel so raw and emotional. And then there’s Misha—his dynamic with Felicity is just everything. The tension, the vulnerability, the moments they let their walls down—it all felt so powerful and bittersweet.
The world-building continues to amaze. From the shadow court’s haunting beauty to the chilling depths of Mordeus’s domain, every scene is vivid and immersive. And that ending? Absolutely unforgettable. The final showdown had me on the edge of my seat, and the resolution tied everything together in a way that left me both satisfied and a little heartbroken (in the best way).

literally her books only continue to get better. i would def say i enjoyed this duology better than the first one, as their all interconnected. with these characters in particular, the stakes feel higher and i’m impressed by her worldbuilding because we continue to bear able to explore it!!
