This book was an easy read that made me want to be at the beach in summertime. The main character Blythe has he hands full with five kids and two men who want her in their lives. The book moved at a good pace and ended sweetly. Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy for my honest review.

Blythe and her family of four children are on Nantucket for the summer. Each of her children have distinct personalities, so it’s easy to remember who’s who. She has been divorced for a few years and is re-awakening and ready to consider the possibility of love in her life again. And the book takes off from there. I enjoyed this latest from Nancy Thayer, one of the queens of the beach read genre. The main plot line as well as each subplot kept me interested, and I finished this book in less than 24 hours. I will say the plot didn’t go where I expected, and I like that. I particularly enjoyed the character of Celeste; we should all be lucky enough to have a Celeste in our lives! The story is believable and moved at a good pace. I definitely recommend this book because I could relate to more than one character and for the other reasons previously noted. An easy, enjoyable read — the only thing better would have been to actually be on the beach while I was reading it!

First love or true love, Blythe must decide what she wants in life. A few years after her divorce, she has decided it is time to find someone else to love. Follow Blythe in making decisions for her family, her ex-husband and her ex-mother in law.
I felt completely transported to Nantucket as Blythe decides what is best for her. A sweet read, a beach read, a need to feel something kind of book. Nancy Thayer does it again.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. So glad that I didn't wait to read this.

I received a free copy of, Summer Light on Nantucket, by Nancy Thayer, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Blythe is recently divorced living in Boston with her four children, and working as a teacher. Summers are spent in Nantucket. This book had a lot going on, love teenage drama, summer, health issues, etc. This was a very good read.

Nancy Thayer delivers yet another delightful novel that transports readers to the idyllic shores of Nantucket, capturing the essence of summer with vivid detail. Three years after her divorce, Blythe arrives on Nantucket with her four children, ready to embrace the possibilities of the season. Unexpectedly, she crosses paths with her high school sweetheart, who hopes to rekindle their romance, while also catching the eye of a charming summer visitor introduced by a close friend. As if that weren’t enough, her mother-in-law’s hospitalization brings her ex-husband back into the picture, creating a whirlwind of emotions and challenges. While the story leans toward predictability, its heartfelt moments and cozy narrative make it a quintessential feel-good read—perfect for a summer escape.
Thank you to Random House Publishing Group - Ballentine and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Thank you Net Galley for this copy of Summer Light on Nantucket by Nancy Thayer. Divorced Blythe and her four children are headed to Nantucket for the summer. Between her oldest teenager's angst over her boyfriend, and the usual childhood ups and downs of her other three children, Blythe's summer has thrown in some other complications as well. Her first love shows up, but she finds she is also attracted to someone else. She spends the rest of her summer debating with some decisions she needs to make about the direction she wants out of life.
This is a typical beach read, meaning a very predictable and repetitive plot with likable enough characters.

A charming novel about Blythe, a divorced mother of 4, who spends a summer in Nantucket reshaping her life. I always love Thayer’s novels and this was no exception. The main character is in her 40’s and she has a warm relationship with her still vibrant, beautiful former mother-in-law who is in her 70’s, a demographic I appreciated!
Blythe is confronted by her first great love, Aaden, who is on Nantucket as well as a new romance with a widower. These men have brought romance back into her life, and presented her with a giant decision. Her children have the normal teen and pre-teen issues, which are dealt with by Blythe and her mother wisdom.
I loved the characters and the kindness and warmth that were exhibited in all the relationships. I enjoyed this novel and recommend it as a great beach read.
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this novel.

I always enjoy Nancy Thayer's books, and this one was no exception. Divorced mom of four, Blythe, goes to Nantucket to her family home to spend the summer. Her children are old and keep themselves busy with many activities. Meanwhile, she runs into her high school boyfriend Aaden and meets a new man, Nick. Does she even have time for romance as a busy mom? And if so, who should she pick? Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I have always loved books by author Nancy Thayer. This one was forced, and I honestly do not know what the book was about. Extremely boring.

another wonderful book in true Nancy Thayer style. Summer on Nantucket, with descriptions that make you feel like you are there, and characters who you want to be friends with.

Nancy Thayer novels always pull me in with her well developed characters and the storylines. I can almost guess the outcomes but I have a wonderful time getting there! Thanks for the chance to enjoy a summer romance in the thick of winter!

This book publishes in April and will be a great beach read for the warmer months. Blythe Benedict is a divorcee and mother to 4 growing children. She juggles work, teenagers, and family drama, but loves their summer on Nantucket in her family home. The summer fun and busy time jumps off of the pages and provides a nice getaway.

Great summer read perfect description of summer is like on Nantucket, great descriptive writing of the way life is on the island.

I have not yet actually stepped foot on Nantucket but each time I open a Nancy Thayer book -I'm there. Her descriptions of the ocean air, the smell of the flowers and trying to keep the floors sand free transport me there.
Summer Light on Nantucket is a perfect beach read telling the story of Blythe Benedict spending the summer at the home her grandparents left to her. It's the story of her children, her long lost love, her ex love and finding love again.
I really enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it.
My thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to early read Summer Light On Nantucket. Five stars from me

Enjoyed this book. Will be the perfect summer beach read. Would like a sequel to follow these characters as they grow and develop

Another beautiful book written by the talented Nancy Thayer. I enjoyed this one! Thank you for the opportunity to read it.

One of the best things about Nancy Thayer's writing is that you can expect a really good "summer read". Summer Light on Nantucket is just that. Blythe takes her family over to the island for their annual summer to stay in the home she inherited from her grandmother. Lazy summer days, children (teens) allowed to do whatever they want all day long, while Blythe goes about her day. Her high school sweetheart has appeared, as well as a new infatuation. Add in the witch of an ex-sister-in-law, a doting ex-mother-in-law, her ex & his new girlfriend, and you have all the characters. A quick read. Thanks to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group & Ms Thayer for the ARC in exchange for an honest review

Another fantastic summer novel that ties together the past and the present in a way that only Nancy Thayer can. A must read for fans and a great first book for new readers.

Nancy Thayer is the queen of Nantucket beach reads! My favorite aspect of her books is all the details she includes to make you feel like you’re right there and eating what they’re eating. This book was an easy read just like all her other books! My only complaint, was that the main character told the background of her ex-husband, kids & Nantucket house over and over to the point of it being redundant. Other than that, I loved it!

I look forward each year to the author’s newest novel – and always finish the book with a satisfied feeling of once, again, visiting beautiful Nantucket with friends. This year is no exception.
Three years post an amicable divorce, Blythe Benedict arrives on the island with her four children aged 11-17 years old. She loves spending summers here in the historic home inherited from her grandmother. Besides caring for her children, who are mostly independent, Blythe is facing a decision about her future. Should she turn her part-time career as a substitute middle school teacher into a full-time occupation? What Blythe did not expect was to reconnect with her first love from high school and an equally attractive widower visiting her best friend. Now she must decide if she can juggle family, work, and a romantic relationship.
This is a quick, entertaining read with likeable characters (with one exception) and some mild drama to add interest and depth…a classic beach read for an enjoyable escape.
My thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the privilege of reviewing this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
