This is an intriguing book. I'm not even sure how to describe it, but it grabbed me from the beginning and kept me intrigued throughout. I love the concept and it made my mind consider things about my own life, the what if's.
Thank You for the opportunity to review this book. Sorry, I attempted to read this book. However, I couldn't get in to it. So, I was unable to finish reading and reviewing it.
Kate Waithman is a woman who works as a music therapist for children with behaviorial issues and problems at home. Her husband Patrick has died ten years ago, and now she has just engaged to her new husband whom she will marry soon. But then she starts to get very vivid dreams. Her dreams always start waking up beside Patrick, who doesn't understand what she is talking about when she tells him about his car accident. In her dreams they have a daughter Hannah, who has hearing issues and with her Kate suddenly can speak sign language, which she hasn't learned yet in the real world. What are the dreams, and in particular Patrick trying to tell her?
Back in the real world, she starts taking sign language classes where she gets to to know the teacher better as he takes her out to dinner frequently and looks straight through what she's been through. Because of this, she starts to get a purpose in her personal life again. She gets to help many children until one day she is on the brink of becoming a foster mother for a girl in need and she discovers the message of her dreams. And a secret that Patrick never told her..
I think I can already say that The Life Intended is on my top list of favorite books of 2015. I didn't expect this book to be so BRILLIANT! This book completely mesmerized me. The plot was downright brilliant and magical. I never have read so many AMAZING plot twists in a book, the end was just fabulous as it comes clear what the message of Kate's vivid dreams was. Kate is a very realistic character and is a great music therapist. Her new husband Dan though was a complete douche, he didn't really care that much about her personal goals. But luckily Kate meets new people and I loved her new bond with Andrew that grew out to more than just a friendship. I will keep this review a little short as spoilers truly will take the joy of reading it away, just let this book surprise you!!
Wow, what a book! This was my favorite book I read last month. The story was poignant and packed an emotional punch. I cried throughout reading because the way the story was written was incredibly beautiful and moving.
The main theme of this novel was about loss and love and learning to move forward from tragedy to live the life you were intended to life. Often times loss changes you and changes the path you choose to take in life. It’s important not to let loss and tragedy overcome you to the point where you stop living in the present. I can’t even begin to imagine the difficulty one goes through after losing the love of their life, but this novel gave me a glimpse into what that must be like.
One of the most important themes in the novel is the idea that no one is perfect and you can’t judge someone’s life based on what it looks like on the outside to the rest of the world. We’re all trying to do the best we can, and it’s important to do our best to be there for one another. It’s also incredibly important to be with someone who makes you feel worthy and who makes you feel like you can 100% be yourself with them.
This was by far one of the most intriguing, yet heart wrenching stories I’ve read in quite some time. It was extremely well-written and although the theme of loss was sad, it was thoroughly entertaining. I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that this book made me cry tears of joy towards the end while I was sitting in a cafe reading with my boyfriend. This story was heart-wrenching and yet at the same time strangely therapeutic. I would highly recommend this novel to all.
5/5 stars for an incredibly beautiful and heart wrenching story about loss and love and living the life you were intended to lead
