It's so hard to rate this book; Goodreads doesn't allow increments between stars. I had to give two, but it's more than two, but definitely not a full three stars, for me personally. Kids will like this book and would rate it higher.
I would recommend this book to young readers: it's perfect for 2nd through 4th graders and even 1st and 5th graders may enjoy it. I just wouldn't recommend it as a children's book that adults (outside the education world) would enjoy.
The premise of a schoolyard being filled with so much snow that multiple forts can be built is fascinating to me. Living in Texas, we will get snow, but not that much and certainly not that much to stick around for a week or more.
It's nice to see students face a problem and seek to tackle it. There is no easy solution and the students must persevere multiple times. This is an excellent book to illustrate executive functioning skills.
I received an eARC from the publisher via Netgalley. This is my honest review.
This was a very cute book that is super inspiring for young minds. It teaches them with a little passion and some resilience, they can do anything. I enjoyed this and definitely would suggest my students read this. The additional aspects of bullies, copycats, and stress are perfect teaching tools for kids.
