First off a big thanks to the publisher as well as to the author and NetGalley for letting me continue with other all time favorite series of mine. As to why it's a favorite series is because of the characters themselves and how the author always comes up with twists and turns that come out of no where .And how you get lost in the story it's no matter what . Plus though out the book you have no idea who the bad guy is , and the interacions between the main character's and the new ones had me turn to figure out who I would love to see our beloved Katie with. But over all no matter who she ends up I'm still looking forward to the next book.

I was lucky to read an ARC of this book which is the latest in a series I have really enjoyed.
What I like most about this series is the role of K9 Cisco. Adds an interesting layer to a detective series, seeing the role of the search dogs. There were a few red herrings in this book, which kept the surprises coming. Fast paced and flowing plot, and we saw more of Katie's mental state which is understandable if you have read the other books, but it does work well as a standalone book too. It's good to see the relationships she has built developing further, with not too much emphasis on her personal life. I'd like to see more of the Fire Investigator in future books too.
There were some brutal killings in this one, teenage girls going missing and arson among the main themes.
I found the ending slightly disappointing, as we had been lead in so many different directions, so it felt a bit low key.

When speaking at a law enforcement conference, Katie is confronted by a woman who pleads to her... Find My Daughter. After the woman is escorted out, and Katie heads to the parking garage, Katie comes across the woman again - only this time she's been attacked. And her final words are again... Find My Daughter. Katie and her partner, Gav, (one of the all-time best supporting characters) are drawn to the missing person's case - even though it's not technically a cold case. They start searching for the missing girl, and in their investigation, discover that her best friend, Jasmine, as also gone missing. When the first girl is found murdered, it opens the case wide open and creates a multi-jurisdictional team, including Evan, Katie's friend from the military. Ms. Chase places so many twists and turns in this book - it is an absolutely fantastic read! I can't wait to see where she takes Katie next. With two teenage girls missing, Katie and McGaven are on the case. Then the on of the girls mothers is murdered and the girl found dead shortly after. With a killer who seems to change repeatedly and clues that make no sense, can they find the killer.

Wow wow wow. This was so good. It was exciting, fast paced, and impossible to put down. There were no hints to the killers true identity until right at the end. I found myself doubting some of the good men in Katie’s life. I enjoyed detective Daniel’s return and I’m rooting for a new romance! The partnership between the two main character is amazing. They are written so well and you can see how they care deeply about one another. My only gripe was that Cisco didn’t feature as frequently, but I was pleased to see feature heavily at the end. I just love that dog and the thought of him being in danger was scary.

Cannot wait to read the next one!

This book has a lot of drama. It has two brilliant detectives who make a good team and with red herrings, suspense and a few shocks this book is well worth a days reading.

I loved the way this story unfolded. I was hooked, I was shook and by the end I was gasping OMG..

Five star thriller.

A woman approaches Katie and begs her to find her daughter who has gone missing.
Not long after, Katie finds the woman badly injured, and the woman says to find the Million Dollar Man.

Bodies are piling up, and Katie and her team are no closer to identifying the brutal killer.

I enjoyed this thriller, Katie is one of my favourite detectives.

The book is a little drawn out, and clues are found, but none are quite enough to identify the killer, never mind find him. He is elusive and a master of disguise.
But thanks to dogged detective work, and Katie's instincts, the maniac is hunted down.

This series can be compared to a jewelry box filled, up till now, with 13 precious gem stones!

The stories are filled with suspense and vicious killers on the one hand, but on the other hand a good series needs good characters as well. And who does not love the dynamic duo Katie and Gav? 

Having a good partner is very important for two detectives, but they would be nowhere without the rest of the team and police officers behind them to do research, forensics, door to doors, etc. If they all work together like a well oiled machine, a baddie does not stand any chance at all.

What this series makes this series even more appealing to me is the fact Katie has a dog, who was trained with her in the military and who helps her anywhere he can. I love for him to play an important part in the books, but I also always hopes he stays safe. I could not stand it for him to get hurt or even worse...

So yes, Katie and Gav face a very intelligent killer, but he should know he could never escape them. 

I am looking forward to the next book, because of the way this one ended. 5 stars of course. Who would have doubted this? :)

Wow! What a burst of excitement! This is the type of thriller I so enjoy! Multiple possibilities of subjects, a group of law enforcement officers chasing down the killer, and most of all….Katie Scott at the head of the investigation! Loved the pace and hunt!

Moments later, questions still buzzing through her mind, Katie finds the woman dead in the carpark, blood pooling around her, and just enough life left to utter the words: find my daughter! Great read!!! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one! It had great suspense, murder, mystery, kidnapping, intriguing, serial killers, a great who done it and a few crazy twists! This talented author has written a page turner. Secrets and red herrings…realistic characters kept the story moving quickly. I like this series. Katie is an intriguing protagonist. Her co-workers and friends rally around her. She is a dedicated person. Thanks Netgalley.
