Single dad x nanny romance trope. Logan is a single dad and a famous hockey player who finds a nanny for his daughter in Maci, who is a writer struggling with writer's block. Maci takes the job hoping to find some inspiration and running from her past. She finds inspiration for her book in what develops in her real life between her and Logan. I loved the characters in this book! It was great getting to know Logan, his daughter Amelia, Maci and the important people in their lives. There were some really funny scenes that made me laugh out loud. Logan was fun, charismatic, and just want a girl wants in the bedroom. There were some cheesy parts to their romance, but overall, I really enjoyed this book. The narrators Chloe Ryan and Walker Williams did a great job bringing these characters to life.
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to netgalley and dreamscape media for the ALC!!!
This was my first Hannah Gray book, and I'm not too sure what I expected, but it was NOT Logan's filthy mouth 🫣
I thoroughly enjoyed the found family aspect, and how easily Maci fit into the family, however I didn't fully understand why they fell in love lol - felt a little bit forced, and there was no real build-up. I also have to admit, I was a little confused by the twist. The mother ran a red light and crashed into Maci's father, yet Maci feels guilty??? Ummm... anyways, Amelia was so cute, however, as the daughter of a childminder, no 3-year-old talks like that 😅 (more of a tiny adult).
Overall, I enjoyed the book for the most part, and the narrators did a great job with their characters and would totally listen to more of their work 🙃

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC of this audiobook for my honest review
I really enjoyed this romance, it had alot of tension and just a really enjoyable storyline. I especially enjoyed that she was an author writing about what was happening cause it felt like that was what I was listening to. The aftermath of what she writes so it was like breaking the fourth wall for books … hahahaha. It was great, amazing characters and I think a lot of thought was put into this romance. Loved it.

Oh i loveddd this book! Logan has such a filthy mouth and I am hereee for it. Single dad / nanny trope will always be my favorite! I'll eat it up everytime and i love when the FMC is an author and he gives her inspiration for the books. The tension was sooo good i was eating it up. The narrators did such a good job! They were new to me narrators and i now i need to listen to other books with them

to be completely honest with you, this story did not hook me whatsoever. maybe i'm just an impatient reader, but if a book isn't picking up within the first 4 chapters, i'm gone. i gave up relatively quickly. it didn't feel original or fresh.

I was really drawn into Logan and Maci’s story. It was very enjoyable. I loved the single dad/nanny, grumpy/sunshine tropes. These two are fire together. Amy is adorable and the bonds she shares with Maci is beautiful. I cannot wait to dive into the rest of the series.

This was an amazing book! I loved their story! I highly recommend you pick this up. The narrators did an amazing job. This was my first book by Hannah gray and it definitely won’t be my last.

single dad and nanny will forever be one of my favorite tropes and this one was done so well! this man was perfection, no complaints what so ever. Logan is the most amazing man, he is such a loving father and would do anything for both of his girls. Once i started the audio for this one i was HOOKED and couldn't stop. Maci was exactly what these two needed and I just loved these three as a family, I cannot wait for more of this series!

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an audio ARC of this book.
This is a book that I had high hopes for, but there were too many things that had me rolling my eyes or that gave me the ick. Cheesy characters and bad dialogue.
We have the typical nanny/single dad trope. Awkward hero who says icky things. For example:
“Night night, don’t let the horny bug bite.” after the heroine saw him in the shower jerking off.
The relationship between the two developed quite quickly. The kid is annoying, not the most annoying I’ve read in romance but not great. The dialogue for this was bad.
“You swore this many times” when holding up fingers. She knows how to identify curse words, and can count to two, but doesn’t know the word for it? Ew.
The plot twist was also disappointing. The heroine’s dad died in a car accident, that also happened to kill the hero’s wife/Amelia’s mom. So when the heroine finds out, she thinks that if they find out they’ll hate her. Though it actually turns out that the mom was drunk but also pregnant? The third act break up (which has them in the hospital though I don’t remember why), the nurse blows the heroine’s cover that she knew the family from before, so she runs away.
The narrators did a good job for what they had to work with.

All the emotions and steam with the first standalone in Hannah Gray's newest hockey series. I loved the characters in this one, the premise that gets them to start their physical relationship, while also watching them become a family.
The steam was absolutely steaming in this one. Plus, it had an angsty storyline with a plot revelation that had my jaw on the floor. So excited for the next audio, as the narrators for this one were great!

This has to be the first time I've audibly said, 'Stop talking!' when listening to an audiobook.
Take one single father who needs a new nanny for his three-year-old daughter and one romance author with writer's block, then throw them together to look after the child. Follow this up with the suggestion that he would be perfect to help her 'physically' with her latest book and cue the eye roll for the inevitable conclusion.
The destination was always known- frankly, it's why the journey was embarked upon in the first place- but it turns out that the vehicle was questionable, the terrain was frequently rough, and while the scenery was periodically charming, the ride was, ultimately, less than enjoyable.
There is much to be said for the overarching narrative: it's decently well-constructed, pulling a few plot threads together, adding in the odd curveball and, generally, having a light-hearted time throughout. However, this story is let down by its writing style. Too often the characters over-explain what they are doing or why they are doing it, making every action feel laborious to the reader.
Certain elements needed to be better woven into the plot, such as the emphasis on Maci's controlling nature (nigh on never demonstrated) or the sentimental importance of her father's watch (an abandoned detail). As such, there is little character growth experienced and the developing relationship simply feels like it's going through the motions. Also, Logan needs to stop giving a speech of platitudes at every available juncture.
This is a well-voiced and -produced audiobook, with clear, expressive dialogue, with both narrators offering a range of distinct vocal tones.

I really enjoyed this book! It was an engaging read from start to finish, and I found it incredibly accessible. The writing was easy to follow, and I appreciated how the story kept me hooked without feeling overwhelming. Overall, it was a great experience, and I definitely recommend it!

This book had me feeling ALL THE FEELS.

Oh my my my, Logan Sterns... you are one filthy-mouth hockey player daddy! Maci and Logan were SO cute - these two were spicyyy but also so sweet with Logan's 3 yr old daughter, Amelia! Throw in a big ol' pup and these made the sweetest little family! Not only did I enjoy the love story aspect, but holy gods, Hannah throwing in THAT TWIST... I nearly lost it. Maci has been through so much and my heart was just breaking for her. I feeling ALL OF THE FEELS. Thankfully the * conflict * was resolved quickly, as I was about to go kick Logan's ass myself ha

After reading many positive reviews from some of my Booksta friends, I was excited to read Tell Me Lies. Hockey romance, single dad/nanny, adorable 3-year-old… sign me up! Unfortunately, this book just didn’t work for me for an abundance of reasons.
First, there was no tension or build-up to the connection between Logan & Maci. Logan seemed to have a sexual comment for everything. His innuendos were immature, unsexy, and very unprofessional. If I was Maci, I would have been running for the door. Even once these characters got together, I found myself fast-forwarding through the sexy scenes as the dirty talk was cringey and unbearable to listen to.
The twist could be seen coming a mile away, but it didn’t ruin the storyline for me like some reviewers had mentioned. I didn’t really understand Maci’s guilt, but trauma manifests in different ways for everyone.
The narrators of this book really embraced their characters and kept me engaged throughout. Although, I didn’t particularly care for their voices while reading Amelia’s lines I understand it can be hard to embody a child’s voice and make it sound realistic.
Hannah Gray is a new-to-me author and one I was excited to try. I’m not sure I’ll read any more of her books after this. This just wasn’t the right writing style for me, but if you love hockey romances with lots of steam, dirty talk and insta-love, this could be the book for you.
2.5⭐️ rounded up.
Thank you to NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to this ALC. All opinions expressed are my own.

3.5 stars. A single dad who's an NHL star and a romance writer turned live in nanny with a twist that even I saw coming. I liked the side characters but I found Logan to be just a bit too cringe for my liking.

Absolutely fantastic! A five star listen with the perfect narration. The story had great pacing and kept me engaged and wanting more. I loved the choice of the narrators and can’t imagine anyone else for these characters. I need more from Hannah right away. This got me out of a major book slump.

3.25⭐, 3🌶️
So this book had its pro's and cons. I liked the start with the nanny x single dad arrangement and Logan WANTING to give his author nanny inspiration.
However, while I enjoyed some of this book, what I wasn't a fan of was all the lack of communication/ assumptions, and unnecessary drama for the second half of the book. The twist of the connection between Maci and Logan/ Amelia was a good twist, but all the communication issues afterword's were just eye rolling and ...tired and felt like a...lazy plot choice. Maci's choices to shut down over and over again....GIRL get into some therapy PLEASE.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC of this book in exchange for my honest and unpaid opinion.

Loved it from start to finish the audio was perfection I already loved this story and the audiobook took it further and made me fall in love again with the story and the characters.

4.5 stars! I loved this story! I couldn’t tell from the audio if the male narrators accent was genuine or if he was purposefully trying to sound like Elvis Presley talking. Either way it didn’t really deter me but it was distracting wondering. I did figure the twist out early on but it didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the story!

EXCUSEEEE ME???? Who gave Logan Sterns permission to be THE book boyfriend like that??
Maci McKenzie is a romance author that has lost her muse. She has lost her inspiration so she takes a job as the newest nanny for the hottest single dad in the NHL, Logan Sterns. She’s only supposed to be his daughter, Amelia’s, nanny for six weeks until he finds a replacement but her inspiration starts coming back to her in more ways than one….
“You gonna go inside and write?” “Maybe,” I say slowly, narrowing my eyes in question. “Why?” “You’re going to use a certain shower scene, aren’t you?” He nods his head proudly. “I gave you some solid material last night. You’re welcome, by the way.”
HEHE gah the tension, the backstories, the relationship Maci & Amelia have is just perfect, and THE SPICE?!? Absolutely unwell. I also loved how the story she was writing in the book was the actual book. A fun take on the story for sure.
PSA: Don’t read this in public you will be blushing and giggling like a fool
