Always love reading Lynn Painter, her books are comfort reads. The characters are so intricately developed.

so unfortunately this one did nothing for me 😭

i am still fairly new to lynn painter books but have binge read multiple of them throughout one sitting, loving them so much i stayed up till 4 am to do so lol however this was not at all like the others ive previously read. it fell super flat for me and i couldnt get invested in either character. to be quite frank, i was bored.

i think that this one will be great for quite a lot of people, but unfortunately not for me!!

I am obsessed with all Lynn Painter books and this one was just as great as the others. I love a good fake dating trope and you can’t go wrong with this one!

This is a delightful laugh out-loud fast paced romance. Maid for Each Other is a quick read, but the pacing doesn't feel rushed. I love the premise that Abi is trying to juggle life, and for a moment staying overnight in the condo she's cleaning seems to fit the bill. It gave her a place to stay, while her place is being fumigated. Unfortunately, it ends up being more than she had planned.

Dexter does not know what hit him once he meets Abi - who just happens to have the same name he gave his fake girl friend. What starts out as a way to keep the investors and his family happy, feels more right than anything he has felt before.

The chemistry and banter was fantastic, and as always Lynn balances a bit of steam with being respectful and keeping the focus on the dialog and conversations.

Overall, 3.5 stars. It was a cute and easy read with characters that are likeable and funny. Abi and Dex could not be more different, but were forced together by Dex's lies into a weekend of fake dating. The idea of the book is not new, but I enjoyed Lynn's version of the story. Abi was a super easy character to relate to and like, she's charming, hardworking, independent, and witty. Dex turned out to be a pretty decent guy under all of his professional bravado. I enjoyed seeing Abi and Dex breaking down walls and getting to know each other. My favorite part of the book was the 5K and the reveal about Dex and Roman.

Desperate times call for desperate measures and when an infestation claims the apartment of graduate student Abi, it seems harmless enough to crash at the vacant apartment she cleans. But of course it backfires - but sometimes the best things come when you are down on your luck. She needed a temporary place to stay, and his professional relationships seem to gain a lot more traction with a girlfriend on his arm…it’s a convenient arrangement for Abi and Declan. I cannot even imagine being in their predicament but that’s what makes this book so fun! Lynn Painter delivers another heartwarming rom com that dazzles and delights.

Maid in Manhattan meets Pretty Woman, but with better chemistry! I quickly fell in love with these characters and was rooting for them immediately. Just the right amount of sizzle too! Easy to read, easy to love. If you love Lynn Painter, you'll love this one!

Giving this book 5 stars because it was EXACTLY what I needed after finishing a thick fantasy book that felt like my brain was being twisted and worked the entire 600+ pages. This book hit the ground running right away which I surprisingly loved the fast pace of it. I think the chemistry was so palpable between the two characters and OF COURSE (it’s Lynn Painter), the banter was AMAZING. I am also recovering from a concussion so this was a great light read for me that was just VIBES all around. If you’re looking for a quick funny and feel good read, this is for you!! Also…GOD WHEN IS IT MY TURN TO FALL IN LOVE WITH A RICH GUY WHO IS SWEET AND WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM FLYING ME OUT TO TRIPS AND BUYING ME NICE THINGS?!?

Maid for Each Other is a fast paced, fake dating, romance novel about a house maid and the home’s owner. This book has so many tropes wrapped into one, delicious, book. In all honesty, Maid for Each Other will most likely end up being one of my top books of the year because it's just that good. The chemistry between Abi and Declan was phenomenal, and I’m crossing my fingers that this ends up being a series. There is a bit of spice, but it’s all closed door. The only turnoff that I can think of would be the rich man, poor woman situation, but it didn’t really bother me in this book, and I also knew what I was getting into from the description. Plus, who can resist a man who's go-to karaoke artist is Taylor Swift?

If you are looking for a quick fun read filled with the spectacular banter Lynn Painter is known for - look no further than Maid for Each Other.

Abi is forced out of her apartment and so she spends the night in one of her clients homes (she is a part time house cleaner while trying to get herself through her masters program). She has never met the owner, so when she walks out of the bedroom in the morning and right into the owner’s parents she is mistaken for his “girlfriend” Abby.

What follows is Declan finding Abi and propositioning her to be his fake girlfriend. All so he can get his family and boss off his back.

Maid For Each Other has some great tropes:
Fake Dating, Strangers to Lovers, Grumpy x Sunshine and Forced Proximity

The story seemed a bit rushed in places, and probably could have been flushed out a little more. Though I really appreciated Abi’s character and brilliance - she was fast on her feet and quite smart!

The chemistry was definitely there and as always, I appreciated the Epilogue at the end to tie the story up. I’ll be looking forward to Lynn’s next novel!

This was a cute read and the perfect length as it is less than 300 pages. I liked that it got straight to the point and that it was a faster-paced read. The fmc works for a cleaning company and cleans the mmc house. She crashes into his home for a couple of days because she isn't able to go to her house and after the mmc finds out they agree to a fake date for a couple of functions. I loved them getting to know each other and her realizing he's not a rich annoying jerk. Even with the few steamy scenes, there was a lot of chemistry and tension between them. Abi finds herself in a jam when she's forced to move out of her apartment due to an infestation. She has nowhere to go and not enough money for a hotel, so she rashly decides to stay at one of the apartments she cleans because she knows the owner is away on business. Abi plans on crashing for the night and figuring the rest out later, but when she wakes up she's met with the owner's parents who think she's his mysterious new girlfriend.

Declan is too busy trying to work his way up the corporate ladder to date, but that doesn't stop him from conjuring up a fake relationship to appease those around him. So he's shocked when his parents tell him they've met his girlfriend, but Declan thinks he can use this to his advantage. He and Abi strike a deal: he'll let her stay at his place and provide her with some much-needed extra cash if she pretends to be the loving girlfriend he's told so many about. The pair couldn't be more different, so there's no reason to worry about real feelings getting in the mix, right?

Oh, Lynn Painter, you never steer me wrong. I can always count on her books to be a silly, swoony good time and this was no exception. It gave off Pretty Woman vibes just without the hooker part. Abi was charming and effervescent, while Declan was more commanding and had that stereotypical rich boy swagger. They were so different, but they complemented one another so well. One thing I love about Painter's writing is the banter, which was bantering here. It was so fun watching them push each other's buttons. I only had a few tiny gripes with it. I would've liked to have seen the plot spread out over a longer period so it didn't feel as insta-lovey. The other could be a me thing, but I wish Declan's parents got an explanation as to their little ruse because all I kept thinking about was whether or not Abi had to keep pretending to be this other person. Other than that, I flew through this and can't wait to pick up whatever Painter comes out with next.

Lynn Painter's "Maid for Each Other" is a delightful and laugh-out-loud romantic comedy. It's a fun twist on the "fake dating" trope, with a maid service owner and a grumpy client finding their fake relationship turning into something very real. Painter's writing is witty and the chemistry between the leads is undeniable. It's a lighthearted and charming read, perfect for anyone looking for a feel-good rom-com.

I adore Lynn Painter! This story reminded me of Maid in Manhattan meet Pretty Woman (minus the prostitution) with it’s own Lynn Painter twist.

Abi Mariano is following her dream of being a creative writer professor and working two jobs to make ends meet.

Declan is trying to get promoted within his financial investment firm and hitting road blocks as a single man in his 30s.

A random meet up between Abi (who was cleaning and squatting in Declan’s apartment) and Declan’s parents who assume she’s his girlfriend, leads to a plan of getting him promoted and paying off Abi’s student loans.

The character growth and conflicts in this book are what make it shine. I could see some of the conflicts on the horizon as I read, but there were some unpredictable twists. Declan is the ultimate cinnamon role once he gives into Abi’s demands, and Abi is a headstrong woman bent on making her dreams come true.

If this was a movie, I’d definitely watch it, and I don’t watch many movies.

Abi and Declan are such sweetheart. But, is it wrong that I’m crushing on Roman instead?

Lynn Painter did it again. It’s cute and fluffy. Who knew a bouquet of epipens and inhaler could be romantic? The dialogue is fast-paced and rely on banter. Some chapters conveyed overlapping information, like the charity that Declan was hiding. In the last chapters, Lauren came in to tell Abi about Roman’s secret project but we already knew that from his pov chapter. It would create more suspense if that is the first time readers know about it too.

There were dome plot holes, like Nana knowing Abi that didn’t come in full play for anything necessary. Although I could never forget how Benny’s is good for wholesale supplements :)

I like Abi and Declan together, and they have and could teach each other about different perspective in life. However, on their own, they seem a little unlikable. Abi keeps iterating about how Dec is rich, take it for granted. Basically, a nepo baby. But, we don’t see from Dec’s chapter refuting it either. She believes it too much that it pushes the narrative to the reader that he is a one dimensional character. It would be more challenging, if she realizes that even if Dec is rich, he is more than his money, more than something he is born with. Yes, having money is a privilege. How you act and what you do with it is how you not let it define you.

Overall, you can’t go wrong with any Lynn Painter’s book. The main characters’ chemistry is always sizzling. But, a revise on some overlapped info would make the story cohesive.

This is the first Lynn Painter book that I have read and I immediately ran to my library to put the rest of her books on hold.

Cute, funny, with two wildly different characters finding the missing pieces of themselves in one another. It's a beautiful story with hilarious dialogue, Not super steamy (one or two kind of closed door scenes) so it reads a bit YA but that didn't bother me a bit. The characters were mature, the story fast paced, and it was simply fabulous. Five stars from this tough critic!

Lynn Painter has done it again. This actually might be one of my favorite books of hers to date! She nails the forced proximity/one bed trope every. time. and her ability to write lighthearted but gripping romances is unmatched!

This book follows Abi and Declan. Abi is your stereotypical frazzled, broke, whirlwind of a female main character and I loved her. She works two jobs to pay her way through grad school, one of which is cleaning the apartment of billionaire workaholic Declan. While he's out of town she stays at his apartment because her own is being fumigated, and her parents walk in on her. But - surprise! It turns out Declan has been lying to his family and colleagues about a fake girlfriend, so Abi assumes the role of his fake girlfriend for just one weekend... which quickly turns into longer.

I love love loved Abi and Declan's romance. Declan was broody but weirdly hilarious (in the beginning, he calls her honey a few times in the most condescending/mocking way and it was perfection). Declan was understandably very alarmed when he found out Abi had been living in his house, so I liked that their relationship started from a point of genuine distaste, and the fake girlfriend trope was done out of sheer and reluctant necessity. Declan is also so generous (perhaps unrealistically so...) but seriously, the things he does for her?? The diamond necklace?? Everyone deserves a Declan. I think any romance reader will adore this book as much as I did!

Maid for Each Other was fun. Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun! I loved it. Dexter and Abi meeting was both awkward and highly entertaining. Her pretending to be his already made-up fake girlfriend was a twist on the fake dating trope that I haven't read very often before and enjoyed. The best part, though, was Dexter and Abi falling in love. It was all so swoony! The way they got to know each other, the things they did to show their feelings, and all the rest of it was so sweet and fun. Dexter and Abi were absolutely adorable. I couldn't get enough of them and their romance. I didn't want this book to end. It was hilarious and heartwarming. Now I'm stuck waiting for Lynn Painter to grace us with her next romantic comedy because I know it will be just as amazing as Maid for Each Other. Her books always are.

Their fake dating dynamic is full of humorous moments, but it also gradually reveals a deeper, more heartfelt connection. The chemistry between them is electric, and it’s easy to see why these two opposites attract.

Lynn Painter’s writing is sharp, witty, and brimming with heart. She has a remarkable ability to blend humor with emotional depth, making Maid for Each Other the perfect rom-com to escape into. The banter between Abi and Declan is hilarious, but it’s the moments of vulnerability and genuine growth that make their relationship so endearing.
