I could not get into this one. I couldn’t connect with the characters and the writing style made the plot feel weird and awkward to me so I unfortunately just did not enjoy this and don’t think it was for me. To insta live but also didn’t feel a connection at the same time.

OMG This!!!! How stinking cute was this story!!!! The entire concept was lovely and while I am generally not a fan on instalove, this just made it so much better. I also loved the pairing of famous x normal (super cute pairing btw) and the fact that she has no clue who he is just makes the romance more authentic for them to like each other without pretense. I wish I could read this for the first time again cause I loved it so much.

Cute, cozy read! But very fast love. The storyline and the characters could have had more time to develop. I enjoyed the book - the miscommunication trope is just not my first pick so I could be biased.

This uses the historical romance element that I was hoping for and enjoyed from this type of book, I thought the use of the tornado warning worked in the storyline. The characters were everything that I was looking for and enjoyed getting into this world and characters. June Kaye has a strong writing style and was invested in what was happening in this book.

I was hoping I'd like this book. I wasn't expecting it to be an insta-love romance. The characters were revealing way too much about themselves within minutes of meeting. They also were very immature.

Aiden is an actor and Nora is just a regular person. By happenstance, Aiden literally falls outside his old friend's house where Nora just so happens to live and makes a rare first impression. Nora being kind helps him out of the storm and into her home, first checking with her landlord (Aiden's friend) that he is not a bad person. Fast forward to the fact that they are stuck indoors for a storm and tornado warning and decide to do a 37 questions to fall in love quiz. During the storm they ask and answer questions and realize they do in fact like either. However, when Nora states she hates fame, Aiden holds back and doesn't tell her is is famous. Does this end the budding romance?

This story was cute but slightly just hard to really believe that after a few hours they are in love. I find the idea of the book cute but instalove can be a little hard to believe in certain circumstances. I did think it was a sweet romance with no real spice and would recommend to someone who doesn't like the spice and likes that instant connection.

Thanks to NetGalley, June Kaye, and 8th Note Press for allowing me to review this ARC!

Thank you so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc of this one in exchange for an honest review!

Unfortunately, this book was not for me. I did not feel the connection between the two people and the romance just wasn’t working for me.

I hope others love this one.

Rom-Coms are my favourite and this book effortlessly blends the humour , romance and emotional depth. Nora who is trying to juggle herself with a corporate job & Aiden who is a celebrity and is trying to keep a low profile meets, it is an interesting thing to see. When Nora behave normally with Aiden, he is relieved and thus this uncomfortable arrangement turns into a genuine connection. The chemistry between the protagonists is irresistible and the author does a great job in unfolding it!
The vulnerability, humour and romance is balanced in a good way which made me feel too much at the same time. If you love to read about the witty character driven stories, this it it! A perfect example of good things happening at the unexpected time.

Although I did not finish this book, I felt like I should still express my opinions on it up to the part where I stopped and give it a rating anyway. This was the first book I've read by this author, and although the writing was great, the book itself felt very flat for me. I hate to leave negative reviews because someone else may love this book, but for me, the banter and characters were a miss. I ended up stopping reading due to the lack of connection between the characters.

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to receive an ARC!

"37 Questions" by June Kaye is the kind of romance that sweeps you up with its irresistible blend of wit, vulnerability, and genuine connection. I found myself immediately invested in Nora, a relatable protagonist juggling a demanding corporate job and the messy aftermath of a regrettable hookup, just as a tornado warning throws her into unexpected company. Enter Aiden, a charming British actor desperate for anonymity, and what starts as a practical arrangement to ride out the storm soon transforms into an evening of deep, meaningful conversation.

Their chemistry is palpable as they work through a magazine’s set of intimate questions, and I was captivated by how naturally their banter gave way to honest self-reflection and emotional openness.

What I loved most about 37 Questions is how the story balances lighthearted humour with real emotional stakes. The premise—a night spent answering questions designed to make strangers fall in love—could have felt contrived, but June Kaye’s writing makes it feel authentic and fresh. Watching Nora and Aiden peel back their layers, confronting fears and sharing dreams, was both entertaining and touching.

While the romance unfolds quickly, the dual perspectives let me experience both characters’ vulnerabilities, making their connection feel earned. This book is a charming, feel-good read that left me smiling and reflecting on the power of honest conversation.

If you’re a fan of character-driven romances with heart and humour, 37 Questions is not to be missed.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Oh. My. God. I loved this book SO MUCH. The premise on this is absolutely brilliant. I loved Nora and Aiden and the answer to a what if that I know many of us have pondered. June Kay's writing is lovely and I can't wait to see what they write next!

I enjoyed this book from the first page. It was cozy and fun and delightful!

I really enjoyed the beginning of the book but as the questions kept going. I started to lose interest. I felt like what was happening was beyond believable. There was a little better storyline towards the end but then I was removed again after Nora made the comment about Aiden probably making up the loss of a child. No redemption there for me.

"Fate works in mysterious ways."

Having read the article "36 Questions that lead to love" by the New York Times and seeing it being played out in Jubilee Media videos, I was curious to see the authors' take on it.

I enjoyed this book for most of it. We unraveled a layer of the main characters, Nora and Aiden, with every question. I liked the chemistry and banter between them, which made the answers to the questions more interesting. But at times, the inner monologue got a bit draggy, eventually making me put the book down for a bit.

Each protagonist's back story was well written and was neatly intertwined with their answers. Ngl, I did find Nora to be a complainer, making me dislike her at times. The book could've been shorter as I felt the ending was prolonged for no reason - sure, it was a very filmy ending, but it stretched too far.

For it being a debut novel, I liked the book's premise and the characters! Let's see what the authors have in store for us 🤗

Side Note: Having played these questions myself (SPOILER ALERT⚠️: didn't fall in love 🤣), I feel that the potential to fall in love is only possible if the other person is open and vulnerable. Otherwise, it's not gonna work out.

Thank you, NetGalley, for an advance copy of the book!

Due to the surface-level (and often stereotypical) characterisations of its two leads, this romance novel unfortunately failed to get me invested. Specifically, Aiden's 'Britishness' felt forced and inauthentic. The story's simple plot hinged on the couple’s interactions, but I wasn’t excited by their dialogue and their connection felt too fabricated.

Would I recommend?... Sadly, I'd have to say no.

An all-around solid and cute read! The flirting between the characters was both steamy and adorable. I couldn’t help but picture Ben Barnes as Aiden the whole time. While I felt the story dragged a bit after the tornado lockdown, and I’m never a fan of drama stemming from lack of communication (especially with Nora’s over-the-top reaction to finding out Aiden was famous), overall it was an enjoyable book. I’m really glad I had the chance to read it through NetGalley!

I struggled with this novel; I wasn’t able to pick up the chemistry between the two. There was a lot of writing spelling out that they were interested in each other, but I fell short of understanding their connection without sufficient subtext. I was only able to make it 20% of the way through.

This was such a sweet book, I loved the growing relationship between them and trying to predict how the secrets they were keeping from each other would pan out. Very satisfying ending!

This was my first book from the author and I liked it a lot! This was such a heartfelt rom-com that I just fell in love with! I usually don't enjoy celebrity-esque books, Aiden and Nora were just to die for and I loved the Notting Hill with a touch of tornado vibes.

37 Questions is a warm, character-driven romance that unfolds almost entirely over the course of a single stormy evening. June Kaye’s debut novel offers a cozy and thoughtful exploration of vulnerability, connection, and the unexpected paths to intimacy. Set in Nashville during a looming tornado, the story follows Nora, a grounded and slightly cynical woman who ends up sheltering with a charming but mysterious British stranger named Aiden. Unbeknownst to her, Aiden is actually a famous actor trying to escape the constant spotlight. To pass the time, they decide to work through a magazine’s version of the “36 Questions to Fall in Love.”
The use of the "36 questions" as a narrative device is clever and creates a naturally intimate progression between the characters. Alternating between Nora’s and Aiden’s perspectives allows readers to connect with both characters on a deeper level. The story gracefully touches on themes like grief, fame, self-worth, and second chances without ever feeling too heavy. The confined, stormy backdrop adds tension and atmosphere, making the emotional stakes feel even more immediate.
The middle of the book is strong, but the third act conflict may feel a bit rushed or slightly predictable to some readers.
