Unilateral by Chris Katsaropolous
2014
I received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a review.
This is a story about war n the Middle East from the perspective of two young adults.
Amel is a Palestinian university student who dreams about finding a life outside her small Gaza apartment where she lives with her parents and brother, Bashaar. Meanwhile, Ra'anan is a young Israeli soldier who dreams of using his skills as a fighter pilot to work as a commercial pilot.
I wanted to enjoy this story more but there seemed to be more story than substance. I found the characters had potential for depth if the story been longer. The ending seemed to come abruptly.
