Talk about grabbing the reader's attention... The prologue was definitely an attention grabber, and the rest of the book didn't disappoint!
Two little girls go missing from their homes on the same day, around the same time, from the same neighborhood. Both girls have the same nanny; Julie.
The story is told from several different points of view:
Carrie, Emma's mom.
Alison, Nealie's mom.
Julie, the nanny of both missing girls.
Kate, a police officer assigned to both cases.
Oh, the tangled webs we weave! It seems as though all of the characters are intertwined, each of them with their own secrets to keep.
Reading this book made me lose a lot of sleep... it was soooo good that I just couldn't put it down. Homerun!
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion/review.
Before I get into anything else, I want to thank @netgalley and @authoremilyshiner for the opportunity to read this wonderfully written book before its official release.
I've been a part of NetGalley for a while, but this year, I'm going to try my hardest to consistently read more and share them with you.
The Nanny Share just dives right into the story, where we meet a shared nanny, two sets of parents, and two missing little girls.
It takes many twists and turns and goes in multiple directions that I definitely didn't expect!
I don't want to give too much away, so you're definitely going to have to check out this five star book when it releases on February 21, 2025!
I loved it and wonderful job, Ms. Shiner!!

Prepare to not want to put this one down.
The nanny share by Emily Sheiner begins with a jaw dropping prologe that left me wanting to continue on reading. Heading into the first chapter we are immediately hit with a missing child with a worried mother and a hesitant father who doesn’t want to involve the police. Another chapter in and we discovered that another family has lost their little girl on the same night, this family also having some dirty laundry that they also don’t want to be aired but aren’t as hesitant to call the police. Both families were connected for a while but, a recent mysterious falling out has me turning more pages to determine what happened.
We are then introduced to Julie who nanny’s for both of the families and her and her boyfriend seem to have a dirty little secret of their own.
Shiner tells the story through 4 points of view but every so often we are met with a mysterious POV , urging me to read on to try and figure out who it is.
I thrive on a good introduction when reading psychological thrillers and I am wanting to be pulled into the book within the first couple pages and Shiner did not disappoint. Fans of psychological thrillers will enjoy the nanny share because it keeps them guessing and just when you think you’ve figured it out Shiner places another clue and shocking revelation that has your wheels turning yet again and you then realize that you can no longer trust any of the characters.
Read the nanny share if you love a good page turner that keeps you guessing with multiple plot twists keeping you on the edge of your seat.
Julie is a nany to 2 families who are close friends, or was????? When both Nealie and Emma go missing its a race against time to find them. They live in a gated community and should have nothing to fear of being safe How has this happened? Is it an inside job? Not all is as it seems!! Both families havnt spoken for months, only they know why.. Are the girls found safe? What caused the rift in the once close families?

Oh my goodness this book gave me chills by the time I finished reading the end of the prologue.
I can say that hasn't happened to me for a long while.
This book is written beautifully and it's paced just right.
Story line is gripping and thrilling.
Every single character made me suspicious of them apart from maybe two.
When my baby woke up for a night feed i was so excited to read more and stayed up way longer than i had to.
Very well done Emily and congratulations on an amazing book.
I am up for EVERY book Shiner writes. Her books always tug at my emotions and involve action and drama, which go hand-in-hand.
This one involves the disappearance of two little four-year-old girls. They live on the same block in an exclusive neighborhood, where neighbors trust each other enough to not lock their doors. This changes in an instant. The mothers are best friends, but as the story unfolds their families are torn apart. Whom can they trust.? What is the motive? Is the Nanny involved? Secrets are about to come out in WAVES!!!
Get ready for one action packed novel with so many twists. I usually see one, but this one had me stumped. Way to go Emily!
An exciting twisty read which had me engrossed in the storyline from the beginning until the end. Good characters who are unbelievable and can't be trusted.

Aloha!! I loved this book!! Could not get enough of the twist! I was all over the place with who did what!!! Emily Shiner has done it once again!!
Wow what a crazy story that kept me guessing right until the last chapter. Seems like just about everyone is lying and two adorable little girls are missing. Just when you think you know what is going on another twist is there to confuse you.
I love being a nanny. But now, the two little girls I nanny for are missing. Soon the police will be at my door and I can’t let that happen again. I’ll tell them I’m innocent, but will anyone believe me?! Good book! Wow this book had so many wild twists I wasn’t sure who was who at times! It also had great suspense, intriguing, murder, mystery, juicy family secrets, and a shocking who done it! The story was very interesting! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
I’m going to start by saying I find it very hard to believe that the cop would be allowed in this case when she slept with one of the “possible kidnappers.”
That being said, I think this is my favorite book by Emily so far. Two neighborhood kids go missing. So many secrets between these two families, as well as the nanny and her boyfriend. def some dirt bags in this book and so many twisted connections. It did get a little ridiculous at the end though
This was a quick read for me time wise but I felt like this book was far too long for what actually happened in the book . The book was twisted but by the end the twists became annoying . I don’t usually gravitate towards this Author and this book reminded me why .
I’ve just had the privilege of reading Emily Shiners latest novel. The Nanny Share.
Emily has done it again. This is a roller coaster of a ride. 2 girls missing in a gated community.
Secrets and guilty consciences galore
This book kept me gripped from the first page to the explosive ending.
Emily Shiner’s The Nanny Share is a gripping, fast-paced thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from the very first page. Shiner masterfully crafts a story full of twists, secrets, and suspense, beginning with every parent’s worst nightmare: waking up to find a child missing.
The tension deepens as another family in the same gated community experiences an identical tragedy on the same night. Two missing children. Two devastated families. One once-close friendship fractured by a mysterious falling out.
The story unfolds through shifting narrators, with each chapter offering a new perspective. While this adds depth and intrigue, it can be challenging at first to keep track of who is who. However, once I got acclimated to the cast of characters, it became much easier to follow—and the shifting perspectives added layers of complexity to the mystery.
Shiner weaves an intricate web of suspicion and intrigue as the layers of each character’s secrets unravel. The gated community, meant to be a haven of safety and privilege, transforms into a claustrophobic maze of suspicion, lies, and hidden motives.
Fans of psychological thrillers will relish the way The Nanny Share keeps them guessing. With expertly placed clues and shocking revelations, Shiner ensures that no one—not even the reader—can be entirely sure who to trust.
For those who enjoy stories that explore the complexities of human relationships under pressure and the dark secrets people hide behind closed doors, this book is an absolute must-read. The Nanny Share proves that even the most idyllic communities can harbor the most chilling of mysteries.
