The Nanny Share by Emily Shiner is one of those psychological thrillers that hooks you right from the start and doesn’t let go. The premise of a nanny whose two little charges suddenly go missing is both chilling and gripping, and the twists keep coming at you in all the right ways.

What I loved most about this book was the tension that builds up slowly but steadily. The protagonist, a nanny who adores the two little girls she cares for, is thrown into a nightmare when they vanish without a trace. The stakes couldn’t be higher because she’s the one with access to both homes—and of course, the police are going to suspect her first. But what I really enjoyed was how we get glimpses into her thoughts and secrets. She’s a character who keeps you on edge, and I couldn’t stop trying to figure out what she’s hiding. Her desperation to keep her past a secret adds so many layers to the story.

The families in the exclusive Blackwood neighborhood are intriguing as well. Each of the families has their own cracks, and as the story unfolds, you start to question who is truly in danger. Is it the nanny, the families, or the little girls themselves? There are so many twists and red herrings that I found myself constantly second-guessing who was behind the disappearance.

If you love fast-paced thrillers with plenty of twists, The Nanny Share is a must-read. The characters are flawed, the secrets are deep, and the ending will leave you breathless.

I get so happy when Emily Shiner has a new book coming out! Two four year old go missing from a gated community. Their nanny of both is hoping the cops don’t suspect her. She has secrets she doesn’t want out. The parents of both girls also have lots of secrets.
I was drawn in from page one and was in suspense the whole time! I definitely was not even close to figuring out the twists!!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this.

I was lucky to get the opportunity to be an arc reader for The Nanny Share.

When two four year-old girls from a well off, gated community go missing on the same night and investigation begins. Who could have taken them? The families of both girls are full of secrets and lies and don’t make the task of finding the girdles easy in the police. The only connection between the girls is that the share the same nanny. Or is it??

The last third of the story was full of twists that I was not quite expecting. My only negative points would be that the characters are not very likable. I didn’t find myself cheering on for any of them. I also would’ve enjoyed it if the twist started a bit sooner. Throughout the whole story, you know that everybody has secrets they are holding onto and once all the twists start getting revealed it. It’s an exciting ride.

I give this story ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️. It was a fast read that didn’t lose my interest. I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a new domestic thriller. Look for this book, expected release date is Feb 20.

Thank you Emily Shriner and Bookouture for allowing me to be an ARC reader and share my review with other book lovers!

This is the story of a day in the exclusive gated community of Blackwood and the secrets those that live behind the gates hold.
In the morning, Carrie and her husband Daniel awaken to find their 4 year old daughter Emma missing from her bedroom. Then Alison and her husband Ryan find that their daughter Nealie is gone as well. The girls are best friends but haven’t been able to spend much time together as of late because of a falling out between the parents. Both parents call their nanny, Julie, whom they started sharing back when they were still friendly, to come and help find the girls.
Once the investigation begins the action starts to really pick up. The story is told from alternating POVs and there’s even one POV without a name to add to the element of surprise. Who would take the girls and why? What are the parents hiding and what caused the rift between them and does it have anything to do with their disappearance?
You’ll get all the answers and a bunch of twists to keep you guessing-there are some predictable but several that are not.
It’s a great popcorn thriller that I was able to read in one sitting. This was my first by this author but it won’t be my last.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for my eArc in exchange for my review.

A fast paced psychological thriller.
Two young girls are missing, what links the two girls?
They share the same nanny, Julie, they also live in the same gated housing development and the two sets of parents until very recently have been good friends, but there has been a mysterious fall out
The story is told from different points of view and each chapter ends on a clever cliffhanger which urges the reader to keep reading.
Every single person is harbouring secrets, everyone tells lies, a game of cat and mouse., There are multiple plot twists which include blackmail, embezzlement, suspense, suspicion and obsession, this pacy thriller will definitely keep you guessing and what will happen when the truth is revealed?
Many thanks to Net Galley and Bookouture for an ARC of this book in exchange for a review.

The flow of this book was a little off for me, a few of the chapters could have been rolled into one like all the interviews. I also did struggle with all the different POV’s

Saying that I did really enjoy the book, I didn’t expect any of the twists that this book took. It was a good read

I love Emily Shiner books. This one was really good, maybe a tad long, but a good plot and very fast paced. I loved all the twists and turns and the always present shock that occurs. Thank you for the opportunity to read this arc.

Wow! This one had so many twists and turns, I loved it! I didn't love all of the evil people involved, but they definitely made for a great book. I thought I had some things figured out at one point, but then in came another twist. I really enjoyed the multiple POVs throughout the story, it really put me inside each character's head. The book takes place all on one day, so the timestamps for each chapter were great to keep that perspective. The ending was crazy and definitely kept me furiously flipping pages! Another winner from Emily Shiner!! Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the advance copy!

Two little girls go missing and everyone has a secret. The plot was good but at times the conversations were a little repetitive.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC

I loved it!

It was fast-paced, twisty, and very hard to put down.
I enjoyed the multiple POVs and found that I loved each character's perspective. None of the characters were likable and they all had secrets but that added to the story. At first, I found myself getting annoyed at the hinting of such big secrets over and over again but once they started coming to light things took off quickly. Overall, the book was as twisty as it promised it would be and the morally grey characters made it tough to figure out which way the story would end which is the reason why I would recommend this book to whoever will listen, with glowing reviews!

The Nanny Share by Emily Shiner is a fast-paced, gripping psychological thriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. The story follows a nanny who, after caring for two little girls, finds herself in a nightmarish situation when the children go missing. Living in the exclusive Blackwood neighborhood, the nanny knows more than she lets on—she’s aware of the unraveling marriages, hidden secrets, and the tension building between the two families. But when the girls are snatched from their beds, suspicion quickly falls on her.

The narrative is compelling as the protagonist struggles to maintain her innocence while hiding darker secrets of her own. The unraveling mystery keeps you guessing, with layers of intrigue surrounding the broken families and the nanny's past. As the police close in, the pressure mounts, and the question becomes: Who can we trust?

Shiner skillfully weaves tension, suspense, and unreliable narration, making the reader question every character’s motives. The story also explores themes of desperation, obsession, and how far someone will go to protect themselves, all set against a backdrop of wealth, secrets, and a neighborhood that hides more than it seems.

With twists and turns at every corner, The Nanny Share is a psychological thriller that will have you second-guessing everyone involved. Perfect for fans of dark domestic thrillers, this book is both chilling and thought-provoking, leaving you questioning who the real victim is in a web of lies and manipulation.

I really enjoyed this book. It takes place mostly over the course of a day and I found that to be quite interesting. Two little girls go missing from a wealthy community where things like this do not happen. It's a well protected area. The girls have quite a bit in common, including a nanny.
This book is absolutely filled with one secret after another as the police try to figure out where the girls are and what's going on. A thing or two is very obvious in the book but most of the time when you think you know what is going on. you don't!
There really isn't much at all I didn't like about the book. Some people make the silliest choices but then again, under the circumstances, who wouldn't?
Great writing and a fun medium to fast paced story.

I enjoyed this fresh take on a story about a nanny taking care of kids. I did not expect the twists and turns, it felt like I was watching another episode of Desperate Housewives, in the way the neighborhood comes together, as do their secrets and lies.

Is anyone telling the truth?

In this twisty thriller, Emily exposes the deep secrets of everyone in an upper class neighborhood when two girls go missing. What is the link between the girls? Who had motive to take them?

The answer? Everyone. And it’s not just the parents and family who have secrets... it goes far beyond that. You won’t figure out who did it until the very end!
