As a veteran with PTSD, Sam West is happy being a cop in a small town. When he sees Maisa “May” Bradley speeding by he knows he has to pull her over. Since they had a one night stand, May has managed to avoid Sam whenever she comes into town to visit her grandfather. Sam is determined to get May to stop, talk with him and give him a chance. May has family issues, her grandfather is former Russian mob who testified against them and is now hiding out. May is so very tempted by Sam but history taught her that love always leaves and to trust no one. But Sam and May are forced together when her grandfather’s past comes to town. Now ruthless men are roaming the streets and the town must band together to survive. And May has to trust Sam as she’s never trusted anyone before.
I’ve read many of Elizabeth Hoyt’s historical romances so I was intrigued when I saw that she had written Once and Always, a contemporary romance. I knew I had to give it a try and I wasn’t disappointed. I adored both Sam and May, cheering for them when they pulled something over on the bad guys while anxiously waiting for them to find their way to each other. You can’t go wrong with this!
