This book follows Joy, a sports reporter for her local news agency, and Dalton, the goalie for the local junior league hockey team, who have a blush inducing moment that turns into an ongoing meeting to help with Dalton's pre-game superstitions. Will these two fall in love after their forced new friendship, or will it be too much to bear?

Honestly, this is such a cute book. I couldn't stop reading it once I started. The chemistry between Dalton and Joy is off the charts. I love their constant banter and ribbing. I love how they slowly fall into a genuine friendship with each other. Their all around relationship is built on a connection rather than an instant love type situation. In fact, they kind of hated each other at the beginning, which makes their story pay off more, in my opinion.

The plot was well paced with good high and low points. There is also a lot of character development that is so phenomenal to see.

I did think this was a standalone novel, but there is actually a book before this. It would have been good for some backstory on side characters, but overall, it isn't 100% necessary to read first. There are also some fun set ups for possible future books!

Since this was an audiobook, I would be remiss if I didn't talk about what a fantastic job the two narrators did in making these characters come to life. Teddy Hamilton and Carly Robins were amazing as Dalton and Joy. And when they did the banter together--swoon!

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes romance, especially sports romances.

Dalton and Joy were a ton of laughs. Joy is fort Knox when it comes to showing feelings. While Days was once a player, he's all in from pretty much the start. When he confronts Joy, that was by far, such a perfect monologue. He put it all there and was spot on. It was also eye opening for Joy! I loved them, I laughed a lot!

Another gem by Lauren Landish! This series is quickly becoming a favorite from this author.

I love the tight knit of this sibling group and even their parents gave me a good laugh as well. The twin sisters always have each other’s back.

I hope we see a story about Sheppard next. Can only guess who he will hook up with and what kind of craziness will follow.

In the meantime, enjoy this steamy romcom series- it’s awesome!

A witty temptation that breaks all the rules and ends up owning your heart. Dalton and Joy are a sassy satire wrapped within a pocketful of sunshine. Landish brings the heat to a humorous, heartbreaker.

The Pucking Proposal is a spicy, forbidden romance that had me hooked from the start. Joy, a sports reporter, accidentally walks in on Dalton, a goalie with superstition and a player rep. Their tension-filled pregame ritual turns into something much more as they secretly fall for each other. Dalton’s sweet side and Joy’s witty, feisty personality make for an addictive combination. The banter is on fire, and the emotional moments hit just right. Can’t wait for Shep’s story!
Let’s talk about the audiobook—because it is fantastic. Teddy Hamilton and Carly Robins? Total dream team. The chemistry between their voices was straight-up undeniable. The playful banter? Felt so natural, like I was eavesdropping on something real and spontaneous. It wasn’t forced at all, and the teasing had the perfect mix of fun and flirty. Seriously, I was laughing out loud at their back-and-forth.
Teddy Hamilton has been one of my fave narrators for a minute, and Carly Robins matched his energy perfectly. They brought Dalton and Joy’s dynamic to life in a way that had me smiling the whole time. I couldn’t stop listening. It was just so fun and left me with that warm, fuzzy feeling you get from a book you never want to end. Absolutely adored it!

Dalton and Joy are about to take you for a great ride! Joy is off limits since she is Dalton's best friend/team captain's little sister. Joy is a sports reporter who knows her way around hockey and the locker room. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Carley Robins, which I highly recommend. If you've read any of this author's books, then you know you'll get laughter, spice and a story you won't want to put down. This book had me staying up late to finish it! Don't hesitate to bump this one up on your TBR!

What a fast paced, spicy, forbidden love story with amazing banter, wit, and healing.

Dalton and Joy's relationship started on accident when she walks in on him in the locker room. I loved how their unique and tension filled ritual turned into so much more. Dalton has a player reputation and is told to stay away from the sisters of his best friend. Getting to know the real him he keeps hidden was my favorite! He shows Joy his amazing heart by being sweet, attentive, and supportive. Joy has been hurt badly in the past by an unfaithful athlete ex-boyfriend. She is so feisty and witty. Watching her open up to Dalton was beautiful.

I have to say, I love the wake up call Dalton gives Joy. Yes, it was painful, but it ended up helping Joy step back and truly love. Her grand gesture was so sweet! I am loving this series a lot. Can't wait for Shep!

I really enjoyed listening as well! The narrators did a fantastic job!

As much as Dalton enjoys playing goalie for the Maple Creek Moose, he still dreams of playing in the NHL. When Joy sees him in all his glory it leads to a game that allowed him to showcase his skills on the ice and now he believes that this is something that needs to be duplicated so that his play will continue.

Joy is a sports reporter who reports on the games. She has kept her distance from Dalton as not only is he her brother’s friend and teammate but due to her past she doesn’t want to repeat the mistake of getting involved with an athlete. The only problem is that the more time they spend together the more it is keeping her distance.

Great chemistry and humor that will have invested in Dalton and Joy as he is determined to break through Joy’s walls and show her that she can trust him with her heart. Carly Robins is a great choice for Joy as her brings out both her sassy personality and insecurities while Teddy Hamilton brings out both the charm and caring sides of Dalton.

What a fun book! The characters are fun, the banter is witty and the heat is steamy. The best part is the character growth, especially for the FMC. This book has it all!

I thoroughly enjoyed this audio! I was laughing in the first 30 seconds! I think the book was good by itself but Teddy & Carly nailed this audio. The narration was really good!

This was my first book of Lauren’s and I will definitely read more from her!

Okay so i am a sucker for hockey romances! But the banter and humor in this one with the semi forbidden aspect, I was drawn in and didn't come out till I finished this one. The narrators did this one perfectly and had me hooked. Definitely recommendation to all my Hockey Romance lovers like myself.

This book was a 5-star read/listen for me. First, the humor was great, the storyline was involved, and kept my attention throughout, the heat was off the charts so yes there was that but the biggest plus for me was watching both Joy and Dalton let their guards down and fall in like first then fall in love. They became friends and then let the love in. The routine of the game ritual was both funny and hot and seeing the other side of the famous Dalton Days and what he was really about just melted my heart.

Teddy Hamilton and Carly Robins narrated this book, and both were phenomenal. I enjoyed their voices and their delivery. It was a great audiobook and I highly recommend it.

Superstitious hockey player, Dalton convinces sports reporter Joy to help him with his pre-game rituals, entering a spicy, situationship that leads to more in this latest Maple Creek sports romance. It can definitely be read as a standalone and is sure to appeal to fans of authors like Meghan Quinn or Tessa Bailey. I laughed my butt off several times and really enjoyed it on audio narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Carly Robins. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

Joy Barlowe is a sports reporter for the local news station. While this area is male dominate Joy doesn't let anything get in her way. Joy has seen her fair share of what goes on behind the scene in the locker room, what she wasn't expecting was Dalton Days in his birthday suite and no one else in the room. Now Dalton thinks that his encounter with Joy seeing him naked has to happen before every game so that Maple Creek Moose can have a chance at the playoffs. Dalton's dream is to go pro and this may be his season. The only problem with his supersiton is Shepard, the team captain and best friend to Dalton and Joy's older brother. Shepard has a strict "no dating my sister rule". This was a cute and funny rom com with just enoough steam for anyone. I would like to thank both NetGalley and Brilliance Audio for letting me listen to an advanced recording of this audiobook.

I love a hockey romance story and The Pucking Proposal was a best friends/teammates sister secret relationship with a twist. The way these two started with an accident turned game superstition was too funny and hooked me with this couple's story. This was my first read from this author and definitely won't be my last. Joy & Dalton were a great read!

A super fun hockey romance with a bit of forbidden in the mix, from teammate’s little sister as well as best friend’s little sister (that’s double the trouble). We could pretty much add in enemies to lovers, because sports reporter Joy Barlow, and hockey net-minder Dalton Days aren’t exactly the best of friends. So basically all my favourite genres come together to ensure that I’m going to love this story. And love it I do. Dalton is a player (in every sense of the word), and Joy doesn’t ’do’ athletes, ever! She’s been burned before. But they’re both willing to do whatever it takes to ensure the team wins, even if it goes against everything they believe in. It’s funny, cheeky, and whole lot of sexy, and it kept me highly entertained throughout.
The audiobook was narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Carly Robins, and I loved every minute of it. The chemistry and flirty sexy banter between the two of them really comes out in their narration. I couldn’t wish for two more perfect narrators for Dalton and Joy.
I received an advanced copy of both the ebook and the audio book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

ALC Review
The Pucking Proposal by Lauren Landish
Maple Creek - Book Two
Narrated by: Teddy Hamilton & Carly Robins

The Pucking Proposal is a quick listen full of hockey team shenanigans, banter, and spicy face time calls. The main premise is that a sports reporter accidentally sees a hockey stars peen and he plays the best game of his life. Now he thinks that he needs to flash her before each game for him to be able to perform at his best level. Of course, after multiple interactions, it becomes heated between the two and hooking up commences. Dalton falls for Joy hard.

The narration by Teddy and Carly was perfection. There was snark, banter, and chemistry that was palpable. It was a lot of fun to listen to.

Pick this one up if you enjoy:
* Sports reporter X Hockey star
* Superstition
* So many face time activities

I enjoyed this fast-paced hockey romance and thought the characters were great. Dalton and Joy have a lot of fun banter and spirit. I liked the way she had to get over her past heartbreak and learn to trust him, and he had the patience to take it slow for her so they could have the relationship they both wanted. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators are fantastic and brought so much life to the story.

This was so much fun. I will say that the cover kind of threw me off since there wasn't an actual marriage proposal and there is a ring box on the cover. But truthfully, the proposal in this book was so much more fun. This was much spicier than I was expecting AND the banter was top notch. I hadn't read the first book in the series, but I immediately downloaded it! This was a really cute and fun book and the narration was great as well.
