I don't know much about what it must be like to pursue a career on stage, but like Rosie, I've had to face my own life not looking like what I envisioned. Who hasn't been thrown some curveballs in life? I, too, "sometimes find fiction easier than reality." There's something so hopeful about immersing yourself in a story and watching the characters find happiness and love where they least expected to find it. If you're in need of a dose of hope and joy, hop into the golf cart with Rosie and enjoy the ride!

This was such a cute book. Loved that in took place in Sturgeon Bay (me being from Green Bay). Loved how Rosie morphed throughout the book to figure out who/what she really was.

I have been following Courtney Walsh for a while, and I have enjoyed all of her books, but this one was a particular favorite. The dialogue is witty, and Rosie is so relatable. It balances being romantic and sweet without being cheesy or ridiculous. I did a lot of theatre in high school, and it was such a fun setting, especially with Rosie's performers. It's a super sweet low angst low spice (still some good kissing though!) romance that everyone should read when they have a bad day.

**Thank you to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson, and Courtney Walsh for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Can Courtney Walsh do any wrong? No, no she cannot! This book was pure sunshine. I had so much fun going on the journey to self discovery with Rosie. She is so relatable. The side characters were perfect. I could see (wish I could see) this play (see what I did there 😉) out on the big screen. Pick this up if you want to smile, laugh out loud, swoon, and tear up with happy tears. It’s a great one!!

Rosie's an actress in New York. All her friends think she's excelling but in reality, she's floundering. After being kicked out of her apartment, Rosie's accepts a job for the summer as a part of the creative team for a production of Cinderella. She moves to Sunset Hills, meets a gorgeous guy named Booker, and moves into her cottage for the summer.
This was my first foray into Romance, other than reading Harlequin Intrigue books in high school and college. I wanted to stack the decks a bit so I chose a book about theatre as I am a theatre kid, all grown up of course but still immersed. I loved this book! The characters were adorable and the book was fluffy and fun. It was a huge departure from my normal reads but so worth it! I will absolutely be venturing further into the romance genre soon!
This book is an enthusiastic Read It!

Note: I received an ARC of this book, at no cost to myself, from NetGalley. This review was voluntarily left.

Another fantastic story that had me tearing up at the end. Courtney Walsh is always an auto read author for me but this book is a beautiful tie in to her other career of theater. We get theater, some really great characters and a retirement community all rolled into one…and the bonus is it’s all set in Door County, WI. We see Rosie struggle with her career choices and feeling like she has failed. An unexpected opportunity comes up and she grabs it, without really knowing what she is getting herself into. It ends up being nothing she expected but everything she needed. The actors at a retirement community help her find her love for her craft again while also helping her learn that she can trust and confide in her friends and not feel shame for not being who she thinks everyone expects her to be. A sweet love story, a fantastic cast of characters with all the theater highs and lows and learning that being your true self is the best way to live. Put this on your list of books to read when it comes out in June. Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Publishers for the ARC.

CONTENT
-🤬: none
-❤️: just kisses
-⚠️: parental abandonment (recounted)

Rosie Waterman has been trying to make a name for herself in NYC for years; it hasn't worked. She blindly accepts the first position offered to her, in order to avoid living with her parents, and ends up at a senior living community's theatre in Wisconsin. Rosie has been hiding the difficulties of her career (and life) from her family and closest friends. She cares a lot about what people think of her and doesn't want to be seen as a failure. Directing a play at the senior living center leads to a lot of eye-opening realizations and paradigm shifts for Rosie.

There is a romance subplot which is so sweet. For a second there, I thought Courtney Walsh was about to deprive me of an HEA but don't worry, she came through! Booker is a total cinnamon roll and his non-judgmental encouragement of Rosie was my favorite.

If you have even the smallest inkling of love for theatre productions, I think you'll like this one! It releases June 11th so mark those calendars.

If I had to provide just one descriptive word for this book, I would say that Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is “heartwarming.” Truly, so heartwarming!

This sweet book has the most charming cast of characters and a wonderful setting. If you love found family, banter, a small town feel, and clean romance, you will love this. Even though I’m not super familiar with the world of theatre or some of the musicals referenced in this story, I really enjoyed catching a bit of a glimpse into this world and learning more.

Definitely recommend!

First, thank you, Courtney Walsh and Netgalley, for the eARC. After finishing a more serious suspense book, this was the perfect follow-up—the quintessential rom-com with a perfect mixture of romance and comedy. I think we can all relate to Rosie, who throughout the book mentions (multiple times) how she feels like she has failed to achieve her dreams. The setting was quirky, which made this storyline that much more interesting to me. Kind of like a rat pack of misfits, only elderly!

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys rom-coms with interesting and eccentric characters.

Everything Coming up Rosie is less romance and more of a personal growth story. The theatre part of the storyline was very interesting and fun to read about. I loved the fact that it took place in a retirement community with fun and quirky characters. I find Rosie a little frustrating at the beginning of the story but she grew on me as her character developed more. The romance part is a little light and as always innocent and closed door. That being said I do wish there was a little more Booker but this story is more about Rosie than him anyway.

Oh my goodness, this book!!! It is a swoon-worthy love story. But not just about romantic love. Also about coming to love yourself better, being vulnerable with people who've earned your trust and who show up when things are bad AND when they're good, trusting those people to have your back, and learning to let the experiences and stories of your past serve you in the present. It's about being okay with re-imagined dreams, changing directions, and still going for and pursuing goals & passions when they light you up from the inside out. I adored the plot, the setting, every single character, and had true tears a few times. Booker is 🙌🏻🤟🏻 ("work can be fun, find a new dream," when Rosie says, “I’d like to be the center of his attention.” 🤣) He’s wise and easy going and calming to her hyped up/stressed out/perfectionist goal setting persona. Arthur + Dylan + Connie + Daisy + Rosie's three BFF's all make the story that much more endearing. This is a story about learning to be okay with feeling deeply, and if you read it, you will fall deeply for all the characters, guaranteed.

I will be recommending this one to friends for a long time.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

so, rough start, but i feel like i've been saying that a lot lately... however, when connie said something along the lines of rosie being there for a reason, i believe it was meant for me too. i needed to read this book right now!

but, firstly, the book is about an actor from a small town living in NYC, Rosie, who pretends to everyone, even to herself, that everything is fine and she's living a dream. she doesn't want her three best friends and her mom to think she's a failure so she keeps pushing through until she can't ignore reality anymore. she's about to give up on everything: her dream of acting, her life in NYC, her independence and her pride.
however, as she's about to tell the truth to her friends, she gets a job from one of the mass admissions sprees she doesn't even remember applying to. she doesn't really read the job description because any job is better than no job and it's in a theatre right? well... she didn't really realise it was in a retirement community clubhouse but she never gives up, especially when a very hot guy keeps acting like her prince charming.

the romance and found family are kinda my soft spot... now i gotta be honest, rosie is very much in her head ALL THE TIME. she's lucky she found very kind and caring people because she's pretty egocentric. thank god for marnie, maya and taylor, booker, daisy, louie, dylan, connie and bertie but especially arthur because we would have a very different ending if it wasn't for them. regardless, i was curious enough to keep reading through all the mess.

"Everything's Coming Up Rosie" by Courtney Walsh is just the book I needed after some very heavy weeks lately in my personal life. This book is charming with a wonderful, quirky cast of characters and I just couldn't put it down. From the setting in a Senior Citizen's community in Door County WI to a beautiful romance I just loved this book.

Rosie is a person that has been lying to herself, her friends and family about her "fabulous" acting career in NYC. She's so desperate to get a job in acting, doing anything that might save face she applies for one job after another - landing herself as the theater director of a ritzy senior community. As Rosie comes to terms with where she ended up, she also starts to learn more about herself and the character growth in this one is incredible.

I really liked her love interest Booker, 3 best friends from home, Dylan - the cranky teen stuck at the retirement community for the summer, the roommate Daisy, wise Arthur and all the senior citizens in the cast. Door County is always an idyllic setting in books and though this book could really take place anywhere - I love that this book is set in Wisconsin where I live.

Fans of Courtney Walsh's books will love this one. It is a clean, closed door romance filled with a journey of self-discovery. This one releases June 10, 2025 and is a perfect beach read for the summer (or like me reading it in the cold of winter - may warm you up)!

I want to thank Thomas Nelson for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

#EverythingsComingUpRosie # NetGalley

Rosie Waterman feels like a failure after her life in NYC as an actor comes to a halt. At her friends baby shower, she steers away any questions about how her life is going in NYC.
Rosie takes a job in Wisconsin as a director for Cinderella at a retirement community, which is a surprise to her she didn't look at the details of the job very closely.
This book is about failures, finding your dreams and yourself along the way
Everything's Coming Up Rosie is a book I'll be recommending. I loved it.

Courtney Courtney Courtney, please never stop writing! Your books are so funny and full of so much heart. You couldn’t help but love Rosie, and cheer for her through every situation. Well written, great character development (Arthur!), and an all around great story. Thank you!

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book
This was a sweet, heartwarming story, but it did not interest me in the way that Courtney Walsh's books usually do. I found the FMC to be immature & her lying/hiding truth from her friends & family was irritating. I did really like the character of Booker, but found myself wanting to know more about his past. The plot about directing a musical with senior citizens was fun though and I enjoyed most of the side characters. The ending was predictable, but cute.

This book was a lot of disappointments. The 29 year old thinking she’s too young to be called a woman is just weird. Also self-centered and super obnoxious. And I guess Courtney Walsh is like everyone else now and thinks books need innuendo and sex references to be funny? I’m disappointed. This book is not clean. It’s “closed door” but it’s not clean or wholesome. I expected more from a Thomas Nelson book I guess? I wish I knew why booker liked her so quickly too. It just felt like insta love since she didn’t really do or say anything of substance at that point.

I love Courtney Walsh so much and so appreciate a new closed door romance. However, the main character really bugged me, the writing style was too simple and therefore boring and overall I really struggled to connect with the plot. It was a cute easy read but highly forgettable
