Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Wow! What a fun, heart warming read! In this story we follow Rosie, who is a struggling actor from New York City. Faced with having no prospects She sends out a bunch of resumes and gets a job offer to direct a play called Cinderella. Rosie doesn’t really pay attention to the details of the job offer and ends up, directing a play cast by senior citizens. During this, Rosie struggles to come to terms with the way, her life has ended up and isn’t sure if she should pursue her passion anymore. This book follows Rosie as she makes new friends, rekindles old friendships and potentially a new love. I think this book did a wonderful job of showing how sometimes in life the things we are passionate about can change and that we all need someone in our life to be authentic with. I really loved her relationship with her friends and that Brooks (mmc) was there for her to learn how to be true to herself. This is my second read by this author, and I am definitely going to be reading more by her!

Such a cute self discovery romance! Rosie is on an adventure to figure out what to do with her life and the lessons she learns along the way have a way of tugging at your heart strings. The humor woven throughout the book is really the cherry on top. This is definitely a must read romantic comedy!

Rosie is yet another delightful character created by author Courtney Walsh. Her superpower is looking more closely at the people around her and seeing beyond what others see in them. However, by agreeing to take a job out of desperation, which drops her into an unexpected community, she finds that she may need others to help her see within herself to find her own strengths and purpose. These side characters add depth and layers to a story set within the theater and retirement communities, and enrich Rosie's story of finding her next steps.

While missing Courtney Walsh's typical faith threads, this novel is clean, and cute, and rich.

Rosie wants to be a successful actress on the stage, but she is in a place of stagnation. Her roommate kicks her out of the apartment for nonpayment of rent on the same day she loses her job. In desperation, she moves back to her parents' home--but she was going to be going there for a baby shower for one of her best friends. She hasn't been totally honest with her friends about how life has been in New York. When she gets an offer from one of her blind applications for the summer she takes the offer without thinking. She finds out she's taken a job in a retirement center to direct their summer musical.
Rosie's summer gets off to rousing start when she sinks her golf cart into the mud. Life at the senior community has its charm and its mishaps. It also has Booker Hayes, a physical therapist and handyman who is called on to help out in a myriad of ways.

There is a romance that brews between Booker and Rosie, but it develops slowly and organically. I liked the way Rosie's dreams developed. I really appreciated the way Courtney Walsh pulled that part of the story together. This is the kind of book that readers will not want to put it down and will lose sleep to finish the novel. Four Strong Stars.

Everything's Coming Up Rosie is such a treat! I loved the plot from the begining, though it took me a little bit to feel like I really connected with Rosie's character. By the end I really did though! I also LOVE the powerful and fun depiction of how a theatre community can positively change your life. I have experienced that first hand, so it was special to see! I also really loved the message and theme of it being ok to not only pursue your dreams but that its ok when your dreams change and you need to change your path accordingly. That is a lesson I personally first learned in relation to theatre!
This was my first Courtney Walsh book and I can't wait to read more! Thanks so much to Netgally for the ARC in exchange for an honest review! Pre-order your copy today, wherever you get your books!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Courtney Walsh is an auto read for me so when I saw this ARC I had to read it!!! Ugh I loved it so much like I still have tears in my eyes as I write this. I love her writing and how she always manages to suck you in ASAP!

In this book we have Rosie and Booker. Rosie is a theatre girl and is not doing so hot in NYC as far as her career goes. She decides to come back and in the process she gets a job offer and being down her luck she takes it…except she doesn’t know what the job is! Then Booker comes in…oh booker 🥰 Rosie quickly finds out she’s been hired at a retirement home in WI to save the theatre program. In the process she finds herself and lets go of some big emotional baggage. Along the way she meets people who end up changing her life.

It’s a very cozy and sweet story! Can’t wait to buy my physical copy as a trophy.

I enjoyed this book a lot - I love that it had a strong female main character that chose herself and her career over settling for a man. I also loved that he came to her in the end - not the other way around!! It was nice that her friend group from home stayed true to her, didn't push her even though they knew that she was unhappy and not doing well in NYC - they waited for her to be ready to share with them.

ARC review: 4 ⭐️!! i loved this!!! rosie’s search for happiness and coming to terms with her dreams were so uplifting to read about. the funny scenes were just hilarious. the retirement community aspect was also so great!! dylan and her supportive hometown friends were my favorite side characters. life is all about the people we love 👏🏼

had to dock a star because i needed more booker!! he seemed to just fizzle out at the end, which i get because she had the show to focus on, but i still missed him. also the amount of random singing was… a lot… lol but that’s what you get with a theatre adult 😂

overall would totally recommend this read to anyone looking for a happy, sweet, self discovery themed romance 💘

i received a complimentary copy of this book. thank you Thomas Nelson Fiction & Netgalley!! opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

⚠️ no explicit spice or explicit language (yay!!)

Walsh’s signature storytelling shines here. Her prose is engaging, effortlessly blending humor, heart, and those little emotional gut punches that sneak up on you. The dialogue is sharp and snappy, the comedic timing is spot-on, and the emotional beats hit all the right notes. Underneath the romance, the book explores themes of resilience, forgiveness, and embracing the unexpected, giving it more depth than your typical rom-com.

Rosie is a wonderfully relatable protagonist—quirky, flawed, and brimming with charm. Watching her grow and step into her own is as satisfying as watching dough rise (which, if you ask me, is a deeply underrated joy). Ian, on the other hand, is the perfect mix of broody and sweet, with enough layers to keep things interesting. The side characters add richness to the story, making the town feel like a place you’d want to move to immediately.

Strengths? The humor, the chemistry, and the emotional depth. Walsh masterfully balances lighthearted moments with real, meaningful growth. The romance is the slow-burn, butterflies-in-your-stomach kind, making every interaction between Rosie and Ian chef’s kiss perfection.

Weaknesses? If you’re looking for high drama or jaw-dropping twists, this isn’t that kind of book. But honestly, that’s part of its charm. It doesn’t need theatrics to be utterly captivating.

Final Verdict:
If you love small-town settings, witty banter, and characters who feel like friends, Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is a must-read. Fans of Katherine Center, Emily Henry, or anyone who enjoys a rom-com with heart will absolutely adore this one. Thank you, NetGalley, for the chance to read this gem—I’ll be pressing it into everyone’s hands the moment it hits shelves!

This one for me turned out to be just okay. Everything felt off for some reason, the plot was chaotic and shallow, the characters didn't resonate, the romance took a back seat...I LOVE CW. Like, she is one of my top top top clean romance authors. The Summer of Yes was one of my favorite books in 2024. I am so sad this one just didn't work.

Book Review: "Rosie Waterman's Journey"
In "Rosie Waterman's Journey," readers are taken on an inspiring exploration of dreams, growth, and unexpected opportunities. Rosie, an aspiring actor, faces a turning point when life throws her a curveball, leading her to lose both her apartment and job on the same day. This moment of crisis propels her into a deeper reflection on her aspirations and the reality of those around her.
The narrative beautifully captures Rosie’s struggle as she grapples with the stark contrast between her hopes and the achievements of her friends, who are all moving forward with careers and families. This relatable theme resonates with anyone who has ever felt stuck in pursuit of their dreams.
When Rosie accepts a position as the director for a regional theatre production of "Cinderella," she takes a leap of faith. The twist? The theatre is in a retirement community, and her cast consists of senior citizens who are new to acting. This unexpected setting provides a fresh perspective on what it means to lead and inspire, challenging Rosie to step out of her comfort zone and redefine her understanding of success.
Rosie's journey is both humorous and heartwarming, as she learns to embrace the unique challenges of directing a diverse group of actors. The interactions she has with her cast not only enrich her experience but also inspire her to reconsider her own dreams and what it means to truly pursue them.
"Rosie Waterman's Journey" is a testament to resilience, showing that sometimes what we think we want may not be what we truly need. This uplifting story encourages readers to embrace change and find joy in the unexpected, making it a delightful read for anyone navigating their own path in life. Highly recommended for those seeking inspiration and a reminder that dreams can take many forms.

Courtney Walsh’s books are always like a warm and cozy hug…and Everything is Coming Up Rosie is so different. Rosie is desperate to find work in theater and after desperate attempts to get an interview, she receives an email offering her a position. Little does she know that this job is managing a theater in a senior living community. The way Walsh used this surprise to change Rosie’s character is beautiful. The people she meets in the process end up growing, shaping and changing her—-Arthur, Booker, Daisy, Bertie, etc. Each person grows her more and more into the woman she wants to be and encourages her to become vulnerable, not only with new and old friends, but also with herself. I am so thankful I had the chance to read this lovely book ahead of publication and highly recommend it to others.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for gifting me a copy of Everything’s Coming Up Rosie!
This is the story of Rosie who is having a hard time finding jobs in acting until she receives an email telling her that she is accepted to work in the creative time of the production of Cinderella. The thing is it takes place in a retirement community and she is the director- which she has never been before!

I didn’t want this book to end. It was the sweetest and most heartwarming story. I thought I would cry a few times because of how cute and amazing this story was. The character development was incredible, it was funny, easy to read, and couldn’t have been better.

Arthur and Dylan were SUCH a great characters, I loved them so so much

And her best-friends were also so nice and supportive.

It can only get 5⭐️!!

I have never read this author but the cover looked cute so I figured I would give it a try…and I’m so happy I did.
I loved everything about this book! The characters, the setting, the writing. Everything about it was amazing!
This story is about Rosie. The struggling actor who got kicked out of her home in New York and is forced to move back home. She gets a job offer at a theatre complete with great pay and a place to live. What could go wrong?
I was rooting for Rosie in her working life as well as her dating life. Can we talk about booker?? Ugh I loved him.
Does this review make sense? Probably not but if you get anything out of this it’s the book is fantastic

Another super sweet romcom from Courtney Walsh! I laughed a lot, even cried 🙈

Rosie is a struggling actress and has taken a directing job for a community theatre. Her discovery that the “community” is actually the Sunset Hills Retirement Community is leaving her unsure of her life choices. There’s also Booker, the sweet and refreshingly honest (and really handsome 😍), resident Physical Therapist.

This cast will seriously make you laugh out loud, sassy and spicy seniors alike. Give it a read if you want a funny and wholesome romcom of old.

Thanks to #NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for this ARC. Opinions are my own. #EverythingsComingUpRosie

I love Courtney Walsh books. That's all I can say. Her lighthearted perspective is a breath of fresh air woven together with swoony romance and solid characters. Every time I pick up one of her books I know it will be a happy escapism with no chance of sadness, but still a dose of depth and growth.

I particularly loved the theater settings in this one and I wanted to be friends with the main character.

I'd never heard of Courtney Walsh before this book, that got my attention through its cover, which gave me a strong Barbra Streisand's movies vibe. And I was not disappointed one bit by what I found în it, especially theatre related. I was not the biggest fan of the romance part (but that is because I am generally not fond of this kind of reading, for those who like this it will surely fulfill expectations on that too), that is why I held back on giving it five stars.

Otherwise, it was a cozy, warm, emoțional, even inspirational reading, which seemed pretty light in the beginning, but unexpectedly turned into a profound, food-for-thought-y one. Loved the atmosphere, the characters, but above all the relationships created between them, and the changes of heart (or rather attitude) of various characters that led to such an emotional ending.

I enjoyed every aspect of this book. This cast of characters stole my heart from the beginning, Rosie, Booker, Daisy, Louie, Bertie, and even Arthur, who turned out to be a big softy at heart. Rosie was a character I found myself really connecting with, because I could see a lot of myself in her. She is afraid to open up and let people in for fear that she will get too close and disappoint them or have them walk out on her. Once she finally lets her walls down, she not only starts letting people in, but she also discovers what she wants to do with her life and who she just might truly be. She also learns that in the letting go you sometime get so much more in return.

My favorite scene has to be the tarp picnic. Who knew a tarp, a box of pizza, and a couple waters could be soooo romantic. Oh, and the ending was absolutely perfect!
