This title is a classic and I'm glad to see it is still in print. I remember reading this when it originally came out.
I requested this one back in the day as I had every intention of reading it. However, its been years and I still haven't gotten around to it and while I feel guilty at not reviewing a book I think that I need to admit to myself that I won't be reading this one anytime soon....if at all.
Robin McKinley has been a favorite of mine since I was twelve, with "Beauty" specifically making a huge impact on my reading experience and "Spindle's End" another formative book. It's amazing to think that McKinley has been the originator of so much cross-genre appeal, and that twelve-year-olds today will fall in love with "The Hero and the Crown" with the same energetic passion as I did "Beauty" some twenty years ago. As with all other McKinley books, here be dragons, here be princesses, and here be stories of ferocious young people coming of age in worlds which do not--yet--feel like their own. I cannot recommend this book enough.
