Thank you to NetGalley and Alexandra Thomashoff for the e-arc. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I want to start off by saying that this book had so much promise. As a huge lover of so many books that fall under that romantasy category, I was excited to jump into this new world.
But right from the get go it just felt off.
First, my copy of the arc had so many page breaks that it felt super choppy to read, I’m assuming this was just due to the download format but either way it was a struggle.
What didn’t help was the excessive details that did nothing to move the story along and instead felt like someone was trying to reach a word count by adding info dump after info dump. Don’t get me wrong, the world building was decent but it just didn’t flow into the story very well.
There was a lot of repetitive phrases and just repeating sentences overall when characters would try to explain something.
Unfortunately, the hardest part for me was the romance. I’m simply not a fan of love triangles and frankly the MMCs pissed me off. There seemed to be no true commitment or feelings and there was a true lack of tension which left many of their intimate moments feeling lacklustre. That and I can’t stand pet names that include little girl, especially considering these men are hundreds of years older, it’s just icky.
Overall, I really wanted to love this book but it just fell flat with the slow pacing, overused phrases, and general lack of interest in the romance.

Thank you Netgalley and the author for having the opportunity to read and review this book.
These are my honest thoughts and opinion for this book.
I realy enjoyed this book. It has a lot of potential. The only thing that I had difficulties was switching from 1st to 3rd person point of view.
It made me go back and read chapters and paragraphs again to make sure I understood what happened with that character.
I've seen some reviews mentioning the similarities with other books, but that didn't bothered me at all.
I love love triangle and I loved Riven. He is a great character.
Some of the things and the way the female main character did left me confused at times, but overall it was understandable given her circumstances.
The main male character Caryan is a bit questionable given the fact how badly he treated the female main character. I couldn't excuse him at times. He is not the typical swoon worthy character that you would normally read in a book and I am curious to see what will happen next and how he will evolve.
The world building was great and well written.
In summary I would give this book 3.5 stars 🌟
And i am looking forward to see what will happen in the next book.

The blurb:
In a world where destiny is a cruel captor, Melody has never known freedom. Her life has been a prison, shackled by a ruthless magic harvester hungry for her rare gifts. She has been a pawn in a game she cannot win—until one fateful night when she manages to escape.
But her fleeting hope is crushed when the mesmerizingly beautiful fae warrior Riven captures her and drags her into the shadowy Court of the Two Moons, ruled by the Dark Lord Caryan, a fallen angel cloaked in icy cruelty.
Enslaved and with her destiny now in Caryan’s unforgiving hands, Melody begins to unravel the harrowing truths behind her captivity. Little does she know, she is ensnared in a treacherous web of lies and longing, caught between her deep, rippling attraction toward Riven and the otherworldly allure of Caryan, whose very essence is everything she fears—and desires.
When her own slumbering powers awaken, they bind Melody helplessly to Caryan’s unholy magic, and to a sinister prophecy that cleaves her soul into pieces.
As mighty armies clash and shadows threaten to consume this world, she must make a decision that could cost her everything.
My thoughts:
Wow! I truly loved this book from the start. Pacing was great throughout, never felt like the story was lagging or racing through points.
Great world building and character development is top notch. Yes the book shifts from 1st person to 3rd person which bothers some readers but it definitely doesn’t distract from the book.
Love triangles aren’t normally my thing but this was written so well I couldn’t help but get invested.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC copy of this book ❤️
Overall really enjoyed this story!! The world building was incredible and the characters were written well. I loved the multiple POV's but I'm DYINGGGG for Caryan's POV. The occasional switch to third person threw me off a bit but in the end I barely noticed. Fast paced and definitely keeps you on your toes.

Honestly, this book was really awful. I kept trying to see if it would get better because I actually really liked the story and plot, but it didn’t. I was given an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.

Thanks Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book 😊
It was a little confusing to be honest in parts, but it picked up pace towards the latter half of the book and definitely made you care less about the parts that might have still been confusing. The flashbacks to before Gatilla died in order to add understanding to the present I don't think were entirely necessary in as much details as they were written in and sometimes contunuously flashing back at pivotal moments in the present was also a little frustrating. But that's also because I just wanted to know what was going to happen between Melody and Caryan and how Riven played into all of this, not to mention Blair. Overall it was a fun read and it has a good fantasy world that was interesting and well written! It definitely made me want to visualise it all too.

3-Star Review:
This book had all the right ingredients for a dark, angsty fantasy romance—an immortal fallen angel, a ruthless fae warrior, a heroine with untapped powers, and a world teetering on the edge of war. It was dramatic, lush, and full of tension, and I can absolutely see how this would be a hit for readers who love brooding antiheroes and high-stakes magical intrigue.
But for me? It just didn’t click. The tropes were there (and I usually love them), but something about the execution kept me from fully immersing myself. The writing was vivid, but at times it felt more like it was telling me how I should feel rather than letting me experience it. The characters, while intriguing, never quite jumped off the page for me—I wanted to feel Melody’s struggle, but instead, I felt like I was watching it from a distance. And while I appreciate a good love triangle, the romantic tension felt more obligatory than organic, making it hard for me to really root for either pairing.
That being said, I know this will absolutely work for fans of dark, seductive fantasy worlds where love and power collide in all the messy, dramatic ways. If you’re here for a dangerous, broody fallen angel and a heroine who has to make an impossible choice, this might be exactly what you’re looking for! It just wasn’t the right fit for me.

I was so excited at the start when there was the map of the world and glossary of all the types of fae, however that made me expect more of an epic fantasy setting and made the first few chapters feel very jarring.
The switching between first and third pov did not help. (Nor did the strange formatting, but I assume that will be corrected in the final version so I'll leave that off any public reviews.)
I'll try to give this another go closer to the release date to see if I enjoy it more knowing what I'm going into but I found myself too confused and frustrated to get past about 10%.

I can see where people would enjoy this story and as excited as I was for it, it was a miss for me. The pacing felt off, I didn’t love the writing style, and I felt no connection to the characters.

3.5 rounded to 4
I’m still on the fence with this one. There were a lot of similarities between Blair and Manon from TOG. Like, A LOT. I honestly didn’t like her attitude in most of her chapters. Same with Caryan. I know he’s got some fans already, but I don’t think I’m one of them. Riven on the other hand…I LOVED him. He was the perfect mix of Cardan and Rhysand. Melody is who I’m on the fence about. I went back and forth on her quite a bit.
Overall, I enjoyed this though and I’m looking forward to the next one. Mainly to see if everyone gets their act together.

okay this was stunning. as soon as you get past the confusion of switching from first person to third person it gets so much easier to understand.
Also the world building??? absolutely incredible and I would love to see more of that in more books! The characters were amazing and Caryan was such a perfect antihero who you get mixed vibes from. Melody was a sweetie pie and I want to protect her from everything because she is just so full of hope and the j0urney she goes on is so emotional and amazing.
The ROMANCE was hitting let me tell you! the love triangle was crazy but I loved it so much. This book was perfect and the author is a auto buy author for me now.

Thank you to Alexandra Thomashoff, Alexandra Thomashoff | Last Unicorn Press for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
This read like a wattpad (not even AO3) fanfiction of throne of glass. The writing style was bland and flat and the main character is very, very annoying. I had to dnf.

Kingdom of the Two Moons follows Melody, a half-human, half-fae girl who has spent her life imprisoned due to her rare magical gifts. When she attempts to escape, she is captured by Riven, a fae warrior, and taken to his ruler, the immortal angel Caryan. Melody begins to learn about her past and the prophecy that ties her to the fate of the realm. She finds herself caught between danger and an undeniable pull towards both Riven and Caryan, while enemies are closing in.
The book has an intriguing premise, but unfortunately, it didn't work for me. While I can see the appeal for others, the execution left me frustrated.
Plot:
The story moves at a slow pace, often weighed down by excessive exposition and unnecessary details that don't contribute much to the plot. While I have to appreciate the thought that went into the lore, the worldbuilding felt more like an info dump rather than being woven naturally into the narrative. This made it hard for me to stay immersed. There were long stretches where very little happened, and when events did unfold, they were often repetitive.
Writing:
The story switches from first person to third person, a fact that didn't bother me. However, the writing itself also felt repetitive. Characters frequently rehashed the same conversations ("Tell me." "I can't" "Please tell me.") with little progress. Phrases and interactions were overused to the point of losing impact. There is a scene of Melody being told that the kingdom's magic is making her tired. Her response is "Magic?". This is the explanation that follows:
"You don't have magic in the human world, I forget that. Magic is everywhere here. It's just another form of energy. The human world has no magic, and we can't use magic in the human world except if we bind it to objects. But here, everything is held together by magic".
Not only this kind of response in particular, but many other instances felt like explanations that just reiterate the same thing multiple times. This made the dialogue feel unnatural and redundant rather than adding depth.
Characters:
I struggled to connect with any of the characters, especially Blair, whose chapters didn't hold my interest. The usage of modern references (like Blair listening to Eminem when she's in the human world) took me out of the book sometimes. Melody, despite being the protagonist, often felt passive in her own story, as she always needed the help of the two main love interests. On the positive side, I sometimes enjoyed how Riven and Caryan's bond was portrayed—it was one of the more compelling relationships in the book.
Romance:
The romance was where this book completely lost me. While love triangles are already not my preference, this one was made worse by how little I believed in either relationship. Caryan and Riven constantly entertained other women—kissing them, having them in their laps, sleeping with them—all while supposedly forming a bond with Melody. There's even a scene where Riven is intimate with Melody while Caryan watches, with another woman straddling him. This might be something others might like, but it wasn't for me. Instead of feeling tension or chemistry, these moments made the romance feel hollow.
Another thing that bothered me was the repetitive usage of pet names such as "my little girl" or "my little one," which were only worsened when I remembered they were hundreds of years older than Melody.
Overall:
While the book had potential and an intriguing premise, it did not deliver for me. The slow pacing, repetitive fragments, and uncomfortable romance dynamics ultimately made this a frustrating read. However, if you enjoy dark fantasy romance with love triangles, this might work better for you. It was simply not for me.

sadly I was just not into this one. had a hard time getting into the story and felt confused throughout the whole thing.

Thank you, NetGalley and the author for a copy of this eARC in exchange for an unbias review. Keeping this spoiler-free, but a further, in-depth review to follow on StoryGraph on pub date.
I enjoyed this more than I thought I was going to! Though it did take me a good few chapters to get into the swing of the narrative, the POV switches from first person in Melody's chapters to third-person for Blair and Riven; which I think worked well, but I had to spend a few pages into each chapter settling into the narrative again.
Im also aware that it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I found this to be somewhat heavier on the world-building and lore, which I personally appreciated! The vividity of the world and the magic system was so beautifully written and explained; the magic itself felt super unique, and it's set us up well for any future books in this series!
For a debut, Thomashoff has such a gorgeous writing style, and whilst it's complex in parts, she has created such compelling and engaging characters and plots, and leaving the ending as open as it was, has my head consumed by what if's and what comes next's

Thanks to NetGalley and Alexandra Thomashoff for giving me the opportunity to read "Kingdom of the Two moons" by Alexandra Thomashoff.
I was hooked from the first chapter. The perfect slow burn epic fantasy with some really good smut. From start to finish, I loved everything about this book. The plotline, the story, the magic system, the complexity of the characters.. just everything was chef's kiss 🤌I really be reading all future books from this author.

This was an incredibly intricate tale of magic, betrayal, and brutal truth. Melody has been tied to the magic of a horrible captor, and has been used for as long as she can remember. Of course, chances of escape are slim, as her captor is an immortal angel.
Tasked with finding Melody and bringing her back to the queen, Blair is also familiar with the cruelty of Caryan. As these two women survive a dangerous and unfair world, they make their way to a solution to their pain - and end to Caryan. But can they do it?

This book was interesting for sure with some plot twist pretty cool really some interesting powers as well what is in store....

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really struggled to get into this book at first. It was so slow and when it finally picked up I could not put it down.
Caryan was so obnoxiously broody and I instantly had them pegged as mates. I did hope for a twist and that Riven would somehow be her mate because he genuinely cares about her. Caryan better step it up but I don't know if he will since he's so old and has been through so much, sometimes happy endings aren't in the pages. I really need more of the grumpy dragon/demon Aris, I think he will be so great in the next book! I loved his confidence in Melody's abilities. I really enjoyed the ending with Kalleandara and Caryan not being able to steam roll her, I love when the fates are so strong and not to be trifled with.
I enjoyed the characters and while I wish there had been more personal growth during the book I'm hoping to see more in the next book. Melody better be more self assured and maybe Blair will rub off on her with her abrasive attitude. I know shes very young and will need to overcome the trauma shes been delt but i felt like she lost some of her spirit after being brought to the fae world, she had balls to stand up to Caryan but honestly i expected her to have secretly trained to fend off the werewolves and Lyrian. Why did Riven never offer to teach her any self defense. They call her weak and tell her she needs protection but never help her become stronger? They never help hone her magic? I was left with so many questions at the end. Also I was hoping for more explanation on the magic talking to Blair early on in the book and how her wyvern seemed more alive, I'll be awaiting more indepth information on that in the next book!

I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
I’m a huge fantasy girl, but this book was not for me. It opened with some questionable scenes, and i enjoy some good smut… but this was just awkward. I feel like the book had a big intro without a good follow through. I struggled with finishing this book, just felt a bit disappointed.
