This cookbook has some solid recipes, covering all the American classics and a few regional favorites. The instructions are easy to follow, and the photos make everything look delicious. That said, there’s nothing particularly new or surprising here—it’s more of a reliable go-to for familiar dishes rather than a source of fresh ideas. If you’re looking for a dependable collection of well-loved recipes, this will do the job. But if you’re after something more creative, you might want to keep looking.

This is such a fun cookbook with tailgate style recipes. Are they recipes you want to eat every day? Absolutely not? Would they be great for a weekend with friends and family, and dare I say it, some Cornhole! The photos that accompany the recipes are appreciated and something I always look for in a great cookbook.

All in all this is a cookbook I have on my list to purchase and gift to some family members that love cornhole as a great gift that I know they will enjoy.

This cookbook is definitely for beginners, and certainly has a backyard barbecue feel to it! I gave this book 2 stars because I don’t think it’ll ever reach for it again… the pictures throughout probably don’t do the recipes justice either.

I think a lot more “ingredient” prep would be needed instead of being able to grab things from your cabinet since a lot of the recipes call for pre-packaged items.

This was an interesting cookbook with cornhole tips and recipes that match the game's vibe. Something that is typically a summer game, the recipes in the cookbook are usual summer fare with some unique twists. Overall, it's a very creative endeavor.

Official Cornhole Cookbook focuses on mostly foods that would be seen at a BBQ.The cookbook begins with the history of corn hole and everything to know about about corn hole before the recipes begin. The Recipe Sections are, appetizers, snacks, and sides, soups and salads, burgers and handhelds, main dishes, seafood, desserts & beverages.

Each recipe has prep time, cook time, servings, a recipe blurb, ingredients, and directions. The recipes are easy to follow and there are lots of variations on different recipes. Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Full disclosure. I don’t play Cornhole, but my family does. This cookbook is filed with the basics, historical nuggets, and recipes that anyone would want to enjoy either between games ie on the sidelines. Definitely making a few for the remaining Football games.

First off, a little warning: on Goodreads, it looks like there are two versions of this book, each with a different author listed, which is confusing and should probably be fixed by the publishers or authors themselves. But don’t let that throw you off because this cookbook is a blast, and if you’re into fun, down-home, all-American food, you’re in for a treat!

As someone who isn’t American but lived in the US for a while, this book makes me nostalgic of state fairs and other summer events like that. It’s all about those classic dishes that you love to eat when you're out at a fair, attending a summer cookout, or tailgating with friends. We're talking cheesy nachos, massive burgers, gooey dips, and more—basically, all the foods that you know aren't great for you, but you can have every once in a while.

The book has a fun, laid-back feel that really makes you think of good times with family and friends, especially during the summer. The recipe names are catchy and totally match the crowd who might be into cornhole (though, I don’t play either, I still got the vibe!). Everything is well-organized, so you can easily find the perfect recipe for your next BBQ or game day party. I loved the way the pages are laid out—each recipe has a photo, and they look real (like, sometimes a little greasy but that's what makes them even more authentic!). The font is a fun touch too, just adds to the whole feel of the book.

What really made the experience enjoyable was the extra tidbits throughout the book, like the history of cornhole and some quirky facts about the food. It gives the cookbook more personality and ties everything together. Plus, there are a few vegetarian and gluten-free options sprinkled in, though the focus is definitely on hearty, indulgent comfort food.

If you're looking for a cookbook that brings the fun of American cookouts and tailgates into your own kitchen, this is it. It's a lighthearted, enjoyable read with lots of mouthwatering recipes. And the best part? You’ll find yourself getting hungry just flipping through it! Can’t wait to try some of these myself.

First off, there are two books with this title and different authors listed. There’s no real author of the book since it’s compiled by the publisher of some previously published recipes from other cookbooks and some recipes submitted for this book by all different people. I read an ARC from the publisher and mine has a cover that looks mostly like this with the same so called author but it says 115 recipes, not 140.

The recipes are tailgating kind of foods, very unhealthy but the kind of food you like when you’re at a bbq or the fair. There are lots of variations of nachos, burgers, dips and such. There is a photo of each one and they look refreshingly real, often a bit burnt or greasy looking. There is no nutritional information. Some recipes are vegetarian or gluten free, more in some sections than others.

The amounts that the recipes make varies widely. Some make a small batch and then there are dip recipes that fill a crockpot and call for cups and pounds of different cheeses.

I don’t really play cornhole and I certainly don’t go to cornhole events, but if you do you might have fun with this book.

I read a digital version of this book for review.

I love downhome, country meals like the ones shared in this cookbook. The names of items were unique and fitting with the crowd of folks who generally play cornhole. It gives the whole vibe of family, summer, and good times. I especially like the way the pages are laid out and the inclusion of photographs for each menu item. It's easy to see what ingredients are needed, the font is different, and I like that. The steps are well written for how to cook, make, or assemble each item. Everything is broken up into the applicable category and easy to locate. The inclusion of the history of cornhole and the little fun fact tidbits throughout the book add to the cohesiveness of the cookbook. Overall, it was enjoyable to read through and the recipes are very good. I'm looking forward to cooking many of these myself while enjoying a Cranberry Cooler from the drink recipe section!
