This is a fantastic book to teach kids about sea creatures! It goes into greater detail and discusses more sea creatures than the majority of kid's books. If you have a sea creature enthusiast, they will love this book! The beautiful illustrations help visualize the text. I really liked that the different sea creature illustrations were labeled. This will help kids learn what the different sea creatures look like.

This book is an absolute DREAM for those kids who love to find little secrets hidden in the pictures! The longer you look the more you find, and the more you find the more you learn!
While there's plenty of time devoted to exploring the more beloved ocean animals (perfect for kids who are shark enthusiasts!), my favourite part was learning more about the lesser known animals - I am officially a stubby squid fan.
The illustrations are gorgeous - especially the deep sea section - but still realistic, which I absolutely love. There's no sacrificing educational content for imagery here, it's beautiful AND instructional!

Thank you for the ARC. This was a cute read. My son enjoyed the different sea animals and even I learned several things I hadn’t about sea animals. The pictures were spot on.

Writer and illustrator Sarah Grindler's vibrant illustrations in gorgeous colours populate this wonderfully informative book about the ocean and its amazing creatures. The tone is friendly and curious while imparting information, but never overwhelms the reader.
I wish I had had a book like this to read when I was a kid!
Thank you to Netgalley and to Nimbus Publishing for this ARC in exchange for my review.

This children's picture book is beautifully illustrated. It is very detailed with ocean vocabulary words and ocean facts!

I received access to Ocean Secrets by Sarah Grindler as an advance copy and am not being paid for this review.
Ocean Secrets by Sarah Grindler is a beautifully illustrated book that engages readers of all ages to learn about the Ocean Secrets. The facts are presented in an easy to read way that makes it perfect for a read aloud with a classroom or with kids at night. This book wasn’t overwhelming with facts like other nonfiction books for young readers can be. Fans of Gail Gibbons books will love how similar Grindler’s writing and illustrations are. This book will help engage young scientists for many years to come.

This book provides a lot good information about the ocean and it's different depths and creatures. The art is pretty and informative. The pages are full of pictures and information without feeling cluttered.

Ocean Secrets is a non-fiction books that whispers the majestic secrets of the ocean to the reader.
Each page is filled with many interesting facts that open up more questions about the Earth, life and oceans.
It will look even better in print. I can see children holding the book in their hands, mesmerised by the world it transports them to.

Quick Summary: A Children's Nonfiction | Outdoors & Nature book
My Review: Ocean Secrets: A Guidebook for Little Underwater Adventurers by Sarah Grindler is a 2025 release.
About the Book: "The newest book in the Little Explorers series takes young readers from the seashore to the ocean floor, finding fascinating plants and animals and solving ocean mysteries along the way."
In My Own Words: This wondrous gem is an oceanic treasure filled with hyperrealistic art and intellectually stimulating information. It contains fun facts, interesting educational content, and more.
My Final Say: This no-fi read is absolutely breathtaking! I learned so much. It provided a helpful review, regarding ocean life, but it also provided lessons of discovery. As I turned from page to page, I could not wait to add to my knowledge. I know young children will be the same.
I especially appreciated the addition of details related to the shoreline and tides, the cycles of the moon, and the various ocean zones.
Other: This would be a fantastic addition to any elementary science class, homeschool science program, and/or school library. I think children and families will love it. I know I do.
