“I love you, and I have loved you, and I will love you.”
Arden and Evelyn are destined to find each other in every lifetime, and to kill each other by the time they reach the age of eighteen.
The problem is, the premise quickly becomes repetitive and the reader isn’t given enough time with the reincarnated versions of Arden and Evelyn to emotionally care about their tethered bond before their eventual deaths.
Yes, they are fated lovers, but the act of romance itself is very removed from the plot, and I think that’s where I struggled with most of the emotional depth, or lack thereof.
I liked that the reincarnated versions of Arden and Evelyn weren’t constrained to the same genders throughout the hundreds of years, but I’m convinced that every book comped against The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue will never meet my expectations.

Thank you Netgalley for the ALC of this book!
The positives: The writing is beautiful and the opening chapter really hooks you! I also loved the F/F romance.
The negatives: After the first 3 or 4 chapters you start to feel like you were thrown into a pool and are now just treading water and going nowhere. This story has 0 forward movement. We are just skipping around through time being told the same story over and over again without any context. You really don't know who these 2 people are or why they love or hate each other or why this is the cycle of their lives. Some people don't mind just being in the story and waiting for the information to come later, but I don't love that. If you want me to care about a romance, you have to tell me why.
This just wasn't for me. If you love a lyrically written slow-burn romance, give it a go.

Words do not describe the way I feel about this book. It was heart breaking, sweet, sad, and shocking. I loved everything about this book. I loved the jumps in time and seeing them in different lives. I liked how the reading knew something was up to keep these two together forever but we really didn't know how until the very end. I loved how they spoke about love and how you can be so pulled to someone yet also know you should be with the, "I love you, and I have loved you, and I will love you." got me every. single. time. This was a fantastic read and I would recommend this book to both fantasy and romance readings.

3.75 rounded up!
so i found this book to be very good but a little redundant and repetitive at the same time… its weird because while i do appreciate the looks back into their previous lives it felt a little hard to stay connected to their present one. i feel almost as if there were a lot of lives that needed to be a bit expanded upon (especially present day) and possibly rearranged?
disclaimer that i am not always the biggest fan of dual timelines, let alone the several we she in this book so take what i say with a grain of salt.
the way everything goes down at the end felt very anticlimactic to me as well.
i also cant say i was the biggest fan of the narrator so maybe that is what took me out of it and i possibly should have just stuck to reading the ebook alone. the narrator almost had an AI feel to the way they spoke, she has a beautiful voice and accent however there was a huge lack of any emotion coming from her.
open endings almost always frustrate me however i quite liked this one. it satisfied some part of me to think that they would finally get things right this time.
i fear it sounds like i didnt enjoy this at all but i did for the most part! there were just a lot of little things to nitpick compared to things to obsess over

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this advanced listeners copy of Our Infinite Fates by Laura Stevens.
I think this book is good for fans of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. It has one of my favorite tropes which is a story within a story and that was a really nice aspect of this book. There were a few times that I tears up and I felt like this was going to be a solid five start read for me. Everything was coming a long nicely and I was enjoying to story that was unfolding up until the last 10% of the book. If I had just listened to the first 90% and stopped I wouldn’t have gotten full closure of the book but I feel like I still would have liked it better than the ending I was given.
The writing was beautiful and very poetic, and the characters lifetime being slowly shown to us was a great mixture but I did feel like it was just a YA version of Addie LaRue, which I still didn’t mind all that much because I was really liking it. Then the ending happened and it just lost me. The narrator does a really good job but at times it is a little difficult to understand her and there isn’t much range in her character portrayal.
I did listen to this entire audio in a single day so I can say that it held my attention enough to keep me interested. I liked getting to see the different years and diversity of each reincarnation. A very beautiful book and I would recommend it with the warning that the ending may disappoint you somewhat, depending on the reader.

This book is incredibly beautifully written. I loved the lyrical style of it. It reminded me of VE Schwab and Rebecca Ross in style.
The characters were interesting including the conflict. I really enjoyed the Hunter/hunted aspect of this book. The secret revealed near the end wasn’t what I was expecting so I am still trying to wrap my head around it. Not too sure how I feel about the end personally, but others may enjoy that.
I loved the concepts about history and culture. There were so many micro moments that hit so well! I also loved the comments about gender. There is so much to unpack there.
There are some very difficult scenes so make sure to check content warnings! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

This book was achingly beautiful.
This is my first novel by Laura Steven and I was enchanted by her writing from the start. It really pulled me into the story, the flashbacks were not too jarring at all where usually I am not thrilled by skips in time back and forth. But this wove itself to perfection. I thought I had truly had the story figured out and was enjoying the ride of it, but it certainly made me gasp in surprise by the end. I loved that little revelation. I thought the characters were so loveable, every single iteration of them. The pacing was great, the story an exceptional love story. My only criticism, unfortunately, is the narrator. I truly did enjoy her and the emotion that she gave the performance, but I do prefer my narrations to have some semblance of separation between the characters. It did make it difficult at first to distinguish who was speaking, as there are no different tones that I was able to grasp.. The story thankfully did not make it too confusing and I was able to follow it along as I really got hooked into it. I think if I read it, I would have been been left with an even greater book hangover than I did with the narration.
Still a 5/5 book for me! I will certainly be rereading this one in the future, a perfect and lovely standalone that I need to experience again.
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio!!

I am so disappointed... I really tried my best to love this as much as I wanted to especially with all the hype it's getting but I didn't. To be fair, it could be that the audio version (which is the format I read this in) really dragged and the narrator had no emotions. I had so much difficulty getting through such a slow moving plot. And being that this is marketed as a romantasy, I expected more fantasy elements. I mean we have the awesome idea of reincarnation and the author could have done soooo much more with it throughout the plot. Instead, we get a small snippet of the fantasy world elements in the last few chapters.

Thank you so much to NetGalley & Macmillan Audio for the audio arc of this novel! Sophia Oxenham’s beautiful narration made the story all the more wonderful and moving. I felt that they portrayed the longing, sadness, and deep love between the main characters so powerfully.
From the first few pages I knew that I had found a new favorite author — Laura Steven’s prose is captivating and her poeticism was one of my favorite aspects of the story. I am someone who loves “flowery” language and I felt that each sentence rolled off the tongue of the narrator so beautifully and filled with such depth.
“They've loved each other in a thousand lifetimes. They've killed each other in every one.”
This story was heartbreakingly tender and so intriguing I could not put it down for a moment! The mystery behind why Evelyn and Arden reincarnate, find each her in each life, and have to be each other’s end before 18 was wildly fascinating and unique. It also made me quite anxious (in a good way that stories do!) thinking of where or when Arden would appear to kill Evelyn. There was a sense of urgency in me to find out why these characters were experiencing this fate.
The story follows Evelyn and Arden in present day while also giving us glimpses of themselves in past lives. I loved the idea that their souls gravitated towards one another and that no matter their place, status, body, gender, etc. that they grew to love each other. I really looked forward to these flashbacks to learn more about their past relationships and to glean clues to their present day predicament — saving Evelyn’s younger sister.
I had so many “omg” moments throughout the story as plot twists and reveals occurred and the puzzle pieces started to fit. But nothing could have prepared me for the explanation and ending! I was not expecting it and quite honestly, didn’t like the reasoning at first. Near the end I felt that these threads of fate tangled into a giant red yarn ball mess and didn’t make sense. However, once I finished the book and was able to untangle the threads and look at the big picture of 1,000 years of life, love, and loss — I really enjoyed the turn the story had taken.
There are so many deep layers of wisdom and meaning woven within this story and once it ended I felt a big hole where Evelyn and Arden cleaved into me. I can’t wait for the release of this story and to reread it in its physical form again!

A hard book to rate and review. The first 80 percent is back and forth between the main timeline (which progresses slowly) and flashbacks to different time periods (which don’t move the mystery forward). Yet the mystery of what draws Arden and Evelyn together is so strong I kept on reading. Was it worth it? The ending (and the answer to the mystery) is wild. WILD. Mileage will definitely vary. Wished the antagonist didn't just make an appearance at the end and the fantasy elements were more evenly woven in.
Evelyn's current family members ... a highlight for sure.
But ... this is a romance at its core, which is the reason for my rating. We are told over and over that Arden and Evelyn are in love, but with no build up to that romance or satisfying explanation of why they love each other. The premise and opening chapters (no spoilers) set up that these characters are lovers through time and that Evelyn remembers all her past lives (the copy explicitly says this). Neither are true, and I finished the book feeling cheated (a bit like the ”pyramid scheme” mentioned an odd amount of times).

I LOVED this book! Such a creative twist and a touching story about the love between two souls. If you were a fan of Addie Larue, you will like this book. Written in much the same vein but with a unique storyline. The jumping timelines, unforeseen plot twists, jarring scenes of love and loss… this book has it all. Would be a great discussion book for book club! So many themes related to souls loving each other regardless of human form or status. And what would you sacrifice for the one you love? What would you endure? Could you make the same choices as the characters here? I loved the voice of the audiobook narrator! Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Publishers for this Arc copy.

The storyline is undeniably unique, featuring elements such as star-crossed lovers, destined romance, and multiple timelines, with some plot twists that were genuinely clever and unexpected. For me, the issue was that the audio format didn’t fully capture the essence of the story. The pacing felt slow at times, which made it difficult to stay completely engaged. Many people adore this book, so I’d still recommend giving it a try if the themes mentioned above pique your interest.

I was fortunate enough to review an e-arc & audiobook arc.
My review on the story is with the e-arc. This review is on the narrator and their performance with the story.
Big shout out to Sofia Oxenham for their amazing performance with ‘Our Infinite Fate’.
They encompass such an ageless yet tragically young voice for this role. Which perfectly fits the eternal struggle of our main character.
I think their narration added a true ache to the story that made me enjoy the story more.

If you love a story about fate and fated mates trope then you'll enjoy this enough. I do feel a little like the emphasis on them being fated holds more and the relationship didn't really build or grow as much as I would have liked

I have to say, I was quite let down that I didn't find this book as enjoyable as I had hoped. Honestly, I feel like the audio format didn't really capture the essence of the story. It's not that the narrator were lacking; she did an excellent job. But the pacing of the narrative felt sluggish, which made it challenging for me to remain engaged and attentive.
In general, I thought the story was pleasant. I really valued the historical background the author included in the chapters that took us back in time. It helped explain the dynamics between the characters. However, I did find the transitions a bit jarring, which impacted the flow for me.
I also felt we didn't delve deeply enough into those historical sections to fully understand the bond between the two characters. I was hoping to be fully absorbed in this grand romance, but I just didn't sense the chemistry between them or see why their love story was significant.
I might think about giving this one another shot when it comes out and try the Kindle version instead.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this advanced copy! You can pick up Our Infinite Fates on March 5, 2025.
This might be one of the most beautifully written stories I've ever read. The writing not only captivated me but MOVED me, emotionally, with every sentence. I'm also not generally a fan of poetry within books, but in this case, you can tell Laura Stevens absolutely EXCELS as a poet and prose writer. It helped us understand Arden so much more and helped Evelyn draw even closer to them throughout the "Present Day" part of the story.
The pacing of this novel was so fascinating to me. We alternate between timelines and locations in almost every chapter, starting in the past and moving back and forth in time while also telling the story of the Present Day in Wales. Our narrator, Evelyn, knows they've been hunted throughout several lifetimes by the love of their life, Arden. But they don't possess all the same memories as Arden and don't know WHY they've been chasing each other throughout history.
Each moment in time illustrates a different part of their love story, and we see them grow closer and closer no matter their gender, body, disability, etc. This book really puts the SOUL in soulmates and showcases how one falls in love with the person inside.
This book could've easily been 5 stars, but I did not vibe with the explanation at the end. SPOILERS ahead for one line of the book.
I had really high hopes for a well-thought-out and cohesive explanation that fit the vibe of the rest of the book. But as soon as Arden said, "You are the devil, Evelyn," I was immediately sucked out of the story. Like record-scratch, about-face, did-I-really-just-read-that moment.
The last 15% or so of the book explains how this led to them having to murder each other throughout history, and I won't get into too much detail, but it just felt a bit contrived and last-minute brainstormed to me. I think literally any other explanation would've made more sense, tbh.
And while the last chapter of the book was once again beautiful and tied back into the rest of the story, that one 15% part really took me out of it, But would I still recommend this book? Absolutely. It's got pining, yearning, tension, and romance like you wouldn't believe. Not to mention suspense because you never know when someone's gonna die. But I'll be curious to see others' thoughts on the ending and explanation for their tragic fates.

The narrator did an amazing job bringing the characters and story to life!
This is one of my all time favorite books and the audio is right up there too.

The short answer: I loved it.
I know this will be one of my top books of the year. I was intrigued by the concept, just hoping that it would live up to the early hype, and it fully delivered. The story is beautifully written - it’s romantic, emotional, and sometimes even funny with a deep sense of longing that only thousands of lifetimes can earn.
Evelyn and Arden are destined to kill each other in every lifetime before the age of 18. The story weaves through these lifetimes, revealing the fate that binds them across worlds and centuries. With a series of flashbacks and flash forwards, you are taken on a journey with the characters who are easy to love and care about.
Recommend if you like magical realism, fantasy romance, and/or historical fiction. For fans of: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, The Book of Doors, and/or The Unmaking of June Farrow.
No notes. Will read more by the author. Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for advance audiobook. For those who love audiobooks, highly recommend - Sofia Oxenham’s narration is excellent and was highly enjoyable.
Our Infinite Fates is due out March 4, 2025.

I'm so upset that I didn't love this one more. And, to be fair, I don't think the audio copy that I had did the book any justice. It wasn't that I thought the narrators did a poor job, because she ( Sofia Oxenham) did a great job, but the pacing of the story is really slow and it just made it hard to stay engaged with and focused on... if that makes sense?
₊⊹⁀➴ The book is told in alternating chapters of historical events between the characters and modern day. It's a love story strewn across time.
Evelyn and Arden are fated to be together no matter when in history they meet. But they are also fated to die together over and over again by their 18th birthdays. In modern times, Evelyn finds herself fighting to stay alive to ensure her sister can be saved from the cancer she is enduring by a bone marrow transplant.
Overall, the story was nice. I liked the background the author chose to give with the chapters that take us back to other times in history. It gave a good amount of background as to why the characters interact with each other the way they do. However, I did find the back and forth a bit choppy and it slowed the pacing for me a bit.
I also felt like we didn't spend enough time in those chapters to truly get a sense of the relationship between the two characters. I wanted to be immersed in this epic romance but I just didn't feel the chemistry between the two characters or invested in why their love story was important.
I think this is one I may go back and revisit once it releases and try reading the kindle version instead. Some books just don't work for me on audio and I'm not sure if that was the whole reason that this wasn't more enjoyable for me, or if it was just the pacing and the sometimes repetitiveness of the story that took some of the enjoyment out.

I tried and tried with this story but just could not get into it. It really gave me extra anxiety thinking that there could be someone after me all the time lol. If you like really long, drawn out, Time / Reincarnation stories this would be a book you would like.
