Once again, the art is my favorite part of this manga. It's just soooo beautiful and retro and elegant, I love it. I liked Vol. 2 more than Vol. 1. It's still a little too slice of life, but I enjoyed the quiet attraction and sensuality growing between the characters.

There’s really no major plot going on beyond these two characters spending time together and the development of their attraction for each other. So this is something very easy and enjoyable to read, I look forward to more volumes. 3.5 stars for this one.

I immediately read this volume as soon as finishing the first volume and I was not disappointed. I went to Barnes and noble and have already preorder both volumes. I had mention in my review for the first volume that I loved the art and want to hang copies up. This feeling just continues throughout the second volume. This volume showed how their relationship has progressed in the short clips of their lives. In this volume I had several scene that I really enjoyed reading. Scene 25 "No One Can Enter" when she crawls into the chair with him and tells him that he is warmer then her bed. I was gushing so hard. The other scene that I really liked is Scene 24 "Present" and he gets so excited to get the gift from her. I can't wait to have these two volumes on my shelf.

The second book in Veil keeps the rhythm and I love how the covers link together. The relationship between our main characters grow and it's wonderful to follow their feelings and especially how they interact. The manga, both parts, are very slow and just slicing the life (pun intended). Veil is very emotional, easy to believe in and at the same time you kind of want more. This leaves me somewhat empty for that reason, but for others it may be "the thing". There are six books now, but the series is ongoing still. I have hard time depicting where this will go, but that can be a good thing too.

I like the adult-feeling in the manga a lot. There's not enough series like this in English. I'm glad this has been translated, since this is like a genre in itself. Veil is more like art than manga and it can reach totally different kind of readers. So points for that!

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review!

Similarly to volume one, Kotteri's art did not disappoint. I really enjoyed how Kotteri tried to experiment a little more with the classic style of paneling in this manga which was beautifully complemented by a gorgeous colouring style in order to create an atmospheric vibe. Also, Kotteri's random sketches always remind me of cool fashion magazines posts.

This volume did a better take of exploring more of the characters' personalities and backstory which I really appreciate considering how this story is literally built on 'vibes' alone. As stated previously in my volume one review, I still hope that this manga has a more solid sense of direction which is more evident in this volume.

I'm slowly starting to fall in love with these characters. They are so precious together and I love the soft touches and sweet words towards one another.

Thank you Net Galley and Publisher for the e-arc.

Thank you to NetGalley and Udon Entertainment for my arc in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

I loved Volume 1 and Volume 2 did not disappoint. I love Kotteri's art and there's just something so intimate and lovely about these short vignettes rather than this massive long story, if that makes sense. The bits of dialogue, sneak peeks at their daily life together, the monologues, and Kotteri's author's notes add so much texture to the story.

I would read more volumes with these two. Her and Him are so lovely together in the ways that they connect and interact. Yes, it's romantic. Yes, it's intimate. But it's so much more than that!

I recommend this!

Not much changed from the first volume. It's still the same pleasant adventures. It's another quick and sweet read.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Udon Entertainment for my copy.

With a second volume just as gorgeous as the first, Veil has quickly become one of the most beautiful manga series I’ve ever read.

The story between him and her continues through a collection of little moments in their lives together, uniquely organized with portraits and sketches separating each chapter. I stated in my first review that their relationship seems like a good balance between friendship and romance, and I feel that in volume 2, this balance leans slightly more towards romance. The portraits in this volume are just as, if not more, gorgeous than those in the first volume. I greatly enjoyed this manga and cannot wait for more to be released.

I highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a unique manga with a vintage art style. If you like romance or slice of life manga, or even just enjoy beautiful art, I think you’ll enjoy this series. Thank you so much to Netgalley and Udon Entertainment for allowing me to read this e-arc of Veil volume 2!

I jumped into volume two straight after finishing the first one, and was not disappointed. It was just as captivating as the first volume, with gorgeous artwork and beautiful short scenes into the lives of these two interesting characters. I love them together, their chemistry is amazing and made the volume fly by. Again, I cannot wait for the chance to own a physical volume of this, it's a beautiful read.

there’s no traditional plot in "veil" as it follows a series of vignettes that explore the relationship between two people who are on the verge of something more—more than friends, but not quite lovers. while one could label this a "situationship", that term feels too crude to encapsulate what emma and alexander share.

their interactions are filled with tender intimacy: she runs her fingers through his hair, he names constellations on her legs, and the gentle brushing of their hands speaks volumes. there’s a warmth between them that defies easy categorization; it’s neither friendship nor love, but something beautifully in between. with this thin veil interposed between them, they find joy in each other’s company. however, the veil is finally lifting, hinting at the potential for something more.

overall, "veil, vol. 2" is a beautiful book, featuring some of the most gorgeous artwork i've seen in my life, that is absolutely worth reading. i definitely recommend it!

Veil: Calme noir was a super sweet and heartwarming read. The intimacy between him and her is so pure and made my heart full. I loved that we saw so many snippets of their time together and got a real feel for how easy and beautiful their relationship is. If I could have a never ending loop of them playing in my mind, I don't think I'd ever have a bad day again. Love this series!

I could read these little vignettes between the two main characters for hours. Everything about the artwork is sensual, tactile, and dripping in high fashion. I really loved getting to see more interactions at home when they both were relaxed and open. I feel like I’m watching them just as much as he watches her – with held breath, sighing at the smoldering, soft intimacy. This volume surprisingly brought tears to my eyes at this passage:

“The other day, she touched my stomach. I asked if her hand was a stethoscope or something, and she told me (with a frown, maybe because she used to be a doctor’s ward) ‘I suppose so. I can see you breathing like this.’”

I wholeheartedly recommend this manga to anyone who loved watching A Sign of Affection.

Again, I could not get enough of the fashion drawings and sketches! What a gorgeous book.

A gorgeous companion to Volume 1. The illustrations are just as stunning as usual and the relationship between both characters is just as witty, fun, playful, and intriguing. Scene 19, the restaurant scene, when she is holding his hand and talking about what it means when your heart is pounding, was my absolute favorite along with Scene 24 when she gifts him the suit.. just so beautiful. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend!!

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with this ARC!

Its captivating as the first volume. I love the banter between both characters. I love how they have this domestic lifestyle without further development so far. I am rooting to see how their relationship plays out further along in the story.

This second volume is just as classic as the first, I really do feel as if you should read both of them together given how kind of little there is and how quickly you can do it. It is so much more a visual experience than a narrative one which is interesting for a story featuring a blind character, because we get to see her like he does and she explains the world we see in such a fundamentally different way than we are comprehending it.

This was good, you should read these two manga, perfect for a nice cool spring evening, cozy winter afternoon, autumn morning, or whatever else season fills you with aesthetic wonder.

Volume 2 continues with the vignettes of volume 1. Whilst it doesn't really offer any new developments, the chemistry and banter between the characters is enough to keep you sighing over the pages and enjoying the unexpected domesticity of the characters. This is quite different from the usual manga format and style and it's absolutely refreshing.

"Veil Volume 2: Calm Noir" by Kotteri is just as cozy and cute and the first volume. In the second volume, we continue to follow Emma and Alexander throughout their daily lives. Their romance continues to blossom, and they fall more in love with each other.

The artwork in this manga is beautiful and the story adorable! I hope Kotteri creates a third volume! I highly recommend this manga!

Thank you, NetGalley and Udon Entertainment, for sending me a copy to review!

The cozy, romantic vibes continue! The perfect series to read while curled up on the couch with some hot chocolate! I love the full-color pages and the beautiful panels in between the chapters. The chapters are short and sweet, and when I reached the end of the volume, I was sad there wasn't more!

Thanks to NetGalley and Udon Entertainment for the ARC!

Unlike regular novels it’s more difficult to rate manga volumes, as it is meant to be seen as a continuity rather than a single volume.
We get to see more snapshots of these two in this volume, and they are starting to really parse out their feelings which !!! Very exciting to a general slowish burn romance. The intimacy was a highlight as they get to know one another.
The author note at the end really pulled things together why the chapters are only a few pages a piece and why it’s just these little snapshots. And why there are so many fashion illustrations.
Honestly compared to general published manga this is refreshing and fun artistically.
