I have read a lot of cozy mysteries, and all of the heroines seem to have similar professions. Not so in this series of books, where Kate Sharp is a location scout for movie company. In this book we find Kate in England, searching for her missing boss who is scouting locations for a new adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. The idea for the heroine of this story to have a job like that is brilliant, considering she can move from place to place, each story being atmospheric in its own way. This series, this book included, is a wonderful series of lighthearted, cozy mysteries. The books can be read in a day, thoroughly enjoyed, and you will feel as though you have traveled to another place. The mystery is generally a good one, sometimes predictable, but not always. I recommend this book and this series.
This was an interesting premise and an enjoyable mystery. Kate is likable and is relatively quick with sharing with the police which is always nice. I did figure out the mystery well before the reveal but I enjoyed getting their and seeing how it all unraveled. I liked the Austen references and the English countryside descriptions that are sprinkled throughout but didn't go overboard. I'm curious to see what happens next for Kate and am looking forward to reading more about the location scouting. If you are looking for a quick light read in a beautiful setting and with mostly likable characters this is a good one to pick up.
