This is my first novel by the author, and I really enjoyed it! It’s a quick read, really well paced, and has some truly laugh out loud moments. Nice spice, too. Thanks to Berkley for the ARC.

Overall, this was a cute book. I liked the mmc and overall, the romance was quick and cute. The fmc was slightly too quirky and over the top to feel completely authentic. Otherwise, I did enjoy the romance and found myself smiling every now and then while reading.

If you love Grumpy x Sunshine sports romances, definitely give this book a read! Luke is the embodiment of grumpy on the outside but secretly a total sweetheart on the inside. Abigail is very quirky, talkative, and just what Luke needs to break through that shell of his.

The relationship between Luke and Abigail was helpful for both of them, and it was refreshing to see them help each other in different ways.

One thing that felt a bit forced was that some of the jokes felt overused because they were repeated so many times, but overall the characters had plenty of banter with each other.

I am going to. say very little because I have very few nice things to say here. Relying heavy on marketing here for Ted Lasso x How to lose a guy in 10 days but it has none of the heart or execution of those 2 works of art. Kate Hudson is zany and pulling crazy stunts, but it feels authentic. The fmc here is just so out of touch and dare I say crazy with her ways to push away our very flat version of Roy Kent hero. Just bad, I am sorry, but I was truly shocked this was published by Berkley and maybe I would be less riled up if I found this on Kindle Unlimited. There's a blind trust I have with Berkley romances and now I will have this in the back of my mind going forward.

This year I’ve been all about sports romances, so between that and this adorable cover, I was so excited for Relationship Goals! Abigail Hunt is about to get her big break in Hollywood, but to nail the part, she needs to shadow the head of a pro soccer team. On her first day, star player Luke Wolfe asks her out—but he has his own motivation, he’s fake dating her to improve the team’s ticket sales, but the more time they spend together, the more Luke falls for the quirky actress and once Abigail finds out it’s fake, she decides to get even. This has big Roy Kent from Ted Lasso vibes. The description for the book says it’s Ted Lasso meets How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and honestly the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days part comes in way too late that I’m surprised it’s not the twist in the book over part of the summary. I thought Abigail was adorable—she’s quirky and sunshine and original. And Luke is broody, but generous. I wish there was some dimension to them/more of a backstory to them. I got Luke’s motivation for what he did, but it really bothered me how long it took for Abigail to know it was fake that I really felt bad for her and the How to Lose a Guy antics were more sad than funny because Luke was so sweet and she was so heartbroken. But I liked the romance in this. It’s a classic grump/sunshine and there was a lot of quirkiness. I enjoyed it, I just wish there had been more communication.

Relationship Goals was a delightful mix of sports romance, Hollywood glamour, and just the right amount of revenge-fueled antics. Abigail and Luke’s chemistry was off the charts from the start, making their fake relationship feel all too real in the best way possible. Abigail’s determination to get even after learning the truth about Luke’s initial motives led to some hilarious, over-the-top moments that made this book a joy to read.
Luke was the perfect grumpy, brooding athlete with a hidden soft side, and watching him fall harder than he ever expected was incredibly satisfying. Meanwhile, Abigail was a force to be reckoned with—witty, strong-willed, and unwilling to let anyone dictate her worth. Their push-and-pull dynamic kept things interesting, and their eventual emotional vulnerability gave the story real depth.
The pacing lagged a bit in the middle, and some of the external conflicts could have been fleshed out more, but overall, this book delivered exactly what it promised—laughs, steam, and a romance worth rooting for. Fans of fake dating with a side of redemption will eat this one up!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

First off, I have to say comparing something to Ted Lasso is hard. There is a Roy Kent shaped hole in my heart since the series has been gone, so I'm drawn to things that provide those vibes. However, I also have to acknowledge that something is never going to fully fill that space. That said, this was still a fun read. While the premise talked about the How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days ridiculousness, I actually really liked that there were genuine feelings at the core of this one, and that was the foundation of the love story. When it got to the antics, that was a fun read, too. It very much read like a rom-com (and that's a compliment), and I liked the unique premise. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the look at this July 2025 release - sure to be a summer fave!

A cute, quick read!

Abigail is an actress who’s upcoming role in a soccer movie has her working with the local soccer team to prepare. Luke is the bad boy of soccer and an absolute grump. To Abigail’s surprise, he asks her out. They quickly realize that they have a great chemistry and start really spending time together. But then Abigail finds out that Luke asked her out at the behest of the team owners. She then decides to get even instead of angry.

I read this book in about 36 hours! It was such a cute and easy read! I adored both the MCs! It would have been easy for Abigail to come off as a privileged and vapid actress, but Brittany Kelley crafted a character that you can’t help but adore and empathize with. Luke could have easily come across as a really horrible person for what he did, but you really understand his position and how it got to that point. This was so well written with wonderful side characters and so full of emotion! Such a quick and wonderful read! Definitely one to pick up!

Relationship Goals is an easy read but lacking in any type of substance between Luke and Abigail. They were instant-love which can be great but any conversations between them fell flat. The book picked up once the revenge started but was over within a chapter or two. It wasn't the worst book I've read, but I definitely don't think I'll be rereading it ever.

This one was weird for me. I loved the grumpy/sunshine dynamic, but I found Abigail absolutely insufferable. Her quirks- meant to convey humor and authenticity- came off as confusing and often interrupted the flow of dialogue. Like, I'm genuinely concerned for her well-being. The plans she makes to get back at Luke were...actually very crazy. The lobster thing? The Gollum mask? Come on. That being said, I liked the universe a lot. I'm intrigued to find out what happens between Michelle and Tristan. While I didn't enjoy this one a ton, I'll be tuning in for (I'm presuming) the next book.

This novel is filled with banter and sizzling chemistry as well as laugh out loud over the top shenanigans. So many times I cringed at Abigail's choices but that just meant I was invested in her as a point of view character. Luke was easy for me to like--he was a top athlete, loved his family fiercely, respected women, and treated animals with tender care.

I appreciated the point of view character having to deal with mental health issues and felt her character acted authentically. This novel also dealt with corruption in business, misogyny, and blackmailing. The only part of this novel that I didn't like was that the plot used the miscommunication trope when it was very obvious Abigail was a person who just said what she was thinking and feeling and never held back. So much drama ensued unnecessarily in my opinion because Abigail and Luke just didn't have an honest conversation.

Relationship Goals is a delightful romance that executes the grumpy/sunshine trope beautifully, delivering a dynamic and heartfelt love story. The chemistry between the characters is electric, giving off strong Roy Kent and Keeley vibes from Ted Lasso—gruff yet endearing meets bubbly and infectious. The banter is sharp, the tension is delicious, and the romance unfolds in a way that leaves readers with a giddy, almost fizzy sense of happiness. It’s the perfect feel-good read, offering just the right amount of swoon-worthy moments and laugh-out-loud dialogue. Light yet engaging, it’s an ideal palate cleanser between heavier books, leaving you smiling long after the final page.

Short and fun- the definition of romcom. If you liked Ted Lasso and How to Lose a Guy in 10 days, this is for you. 3.5 rounded up

As soon as I saw the cover with a soccer player who looks just like Roy Kent from Ted Lasso (my fav character), I knew I needed to read it, and I was not disappointed. The banter was great, and I was really invested in their relationship overall. There were so many funny parts but I think my favorite was her dressing as Gollum. This was such a light and easy read and was perfect in between my fantasy reads. It made me want to read more from Brittany and more soccer books in general.

This was like an unhinged version of how to lose a guy in 10 days. I laughed out loud so many times. The dialogue was a bit cringe at times and there were too many grunts but I got over it. The FMC is quirky but she's totally unapologetic about it and leans into it. The banter between the FMC and MMC was great, they're polar opposites but bring out the best in each other. A fast-paced read!

I'm a sucker for any sports romance and this one did not disappoint as I read it in one sitting. The characters were super real to me and I loved the grumpy/sunshine dynamic. I look forward to more in this series and will look for other titles from this author.

I couldn't resist when I saw this on @netgalley. I just loved the description, and had to have it. I love sports romance and never read anything by this author.

Abigail Hunt is about to make it big in her career. She finally got a part in an Oscar caliber movie and is heading to the LA Aces professional soccer team to study up. The movie is about a pro soccer whistleblower and being a women working in the men's league. She doesn't expect the notoriously grumpy Luke Wolfe to ask her out. For his part, Luke wants nothing to do with going out with Abigail, especially because he's being blackmailed by the team owners to date her to increase ticket sales. If he does, they'll let him leave the team so he can go back to Seattle to be close to his mom, who's currently going through chemotherapy. Somehow, in spite of himself, Luke really enjoys being around Abigail and starts to struggle with how to handle this mess of a situation he's got them in.

This was super cute and such a fun read! I loved how authentic Abigail was throughout the entire thing. She's a lot quirky and seems to really just lean into it. Luke doesn't seem like the type to enjoy that, but she brought out a lighter side of him. Highly recommend!
