I loved this book! I don’t normally read Rom-Coms but this story has me rethinking things. Cute, funny, a bit of suspense, loveable characters……all you could ask for was for it to be longer. So good!!

Abby Jimenez never misses! Her stories and characters are some of my all-time favorites. I love the complexity and realness of her stories, even in this novella she was able to bring a level of depth that is very relatable through talking about trauma. I love Charlotte & Seth. As always, I can’t wait to read more.

Book Review: The Fall Risk by Abby Jimenez
Abby Jimenez has done it again! The Fall Risk was such a fun, fast-paced, and addictive read. I seriously could not put it down. Her characters always feel so real and layered, and these two? Ugh, I loved them. The romance was everything, so much tension, great banter, and the kind of chemistry that makes you want to scream into a pillow.
I also thought the stalker storyline was super well done! It added just the right amount of suspense without taking away from the romance, and honestly, it kept me on the edge of my seat. Abby always finds the perfect balance between humor, heart, and drama, and she totally nailed it here.
Huge thank you to NetGalley for the copy! I loved every second of this book, and I’m giving it a well-deserved 5/5 stars. If you’re a romance lover, you NEED to read this one!

Abby Jimenez is an autobuy author for me, so I assumed I was going to love this and I absolutely did. My only complaint is I wish it was longer! The banter between the best friends, the MMC and FMC, and the ending was all perfect. I absolutely love it and bought the audio as well!

Abby Jimenez always knocks it out of the park with everything she writes. I loved how she handled a serious topic while still making it heartwarming. This short story was super cute. It's amazing how she develops such great chemistry between the characters in just a few pages! The MMC was the greenest flag, and the FMC was strong and capable. The friend group was very wholesome, and I was so invested in the secondary couple as well. I could easily read a full novel about both couples in this story.

Omg. Show short and sweet. I loved this so much! 80 pages and I literally cried. Hard. Way to go, Charlotte! I cant wait to share my new found tree knowledge with others.

Abby Jimenez delivers stellar romances TIME 👏🏼 AFTER 👏🏼 TIME!! Whether it's a full length novel that makes me laugh and rips me apart or a novella that has me kicking my feet and giggling for all less than 100 pages, Abby hits it out of the park every time!
I was obsessed with arborist Seth and bear spray-dependent Charlotte right from the start. Their precarious situation was so out of left-field and I couldn’t get enough. I was equally obsessed with their best friends and their instant connection.
I loved how much depth there was to Seth and Charlotte and how well we got to know them in the number of pages we were given. This is such a testament to Abby and her writing! I could read a full length novel about these two. I truly loved everything about this story.
⚠️ I will say, this novella did have my heart pumping and not for the typical reasons. Charlotte has a stalker who is in fact out to get her, so if this isn’t something you’re cool with, definitely proceed with caution.
This novella was absolutely perfect for Valentine’s Day! I love to see my favorite authors publish this type of content every now and again. It is such a breath of fresh air to sneak in when you might be in need of a palette cleanser!
If you’re looking for more short-form Abby Jimenez, don’t miss Worst Wingman Ever, also available on Kindle Unlimited. Abby’s first Valentine’s Day novella came out last year, alongside four other novellas in the Improbable Meet Cute series. Definitely worth a read!

I'm a big fan of Abby Jimenez and will happily read anything she writes.
There was a lot to love about this novella. I enjoyed the forced proximity and dynamic between Charlotte and Seth was so, so good. I appreciated the vulnerability and growth shown by Charlotte considering how short the story is. Also, the retirement home ladies were fabulous.
I didn't love the talk about guns, but that's a me thing, and I do understand Jimenez's choice to to include it here.
All in all it's worth a read, especially if you've enjoyed the author's other works.

“‘Listen to me,’ he said, going on unfazed. ‘Do not, and I cannot stress this enough, spend the whole time talking to her about trees.’”
★★★★★
Okay, but please, talk to me about all the trees. I’m here for it. 🌳 “A blink of an eye for a redwood, but timeless for me.”
What an absolutely delightful 82-page story! As always, Abby packs a punch, you’re laughing, sobbing, and wondering how a short story can make you feel so much in such a short span of time.
We have a stalker, a badass Charlotte who is ready to defend herself because the systems meant to protect us are failing (honestly, there’s a much bigger discussion to be had about this), and Seth, a newly divorced MMC who takes losing his stairs for a weekend like a champ. He proves to Charlotte, and to us, that there are men worth choosing over the bear.
"For all the women who choose the bear and all the men who do the work to understand why. May the forest be a little less scary one day."

Abby Jimenez is a MUST buy author for me! I love her longer novels and this novella while shorter still has everything I love about Abby Jimenez books. The characters are all so lovable. The humor timed perfectly to take the sting out of the more serious themes and undertones. I even love the shout outs to Nadia Cakes, get your bag Abby I see you. All in all this was a perfect read for a quick dose of dopamine!

Abby Jimenez has never written a bad book in her life. I wish this one was longer! In such few pages, I fell in love with Charlotte and Seth and their sweet love story.

The Fall Risk does a fantastic job of delivering a satisfying romance in a short story. I loved the humor and main/side characters. I didn't love how the conflict was viewed as "over" at the ending, but it's fictional short story so I'll get over it.
I received an ARC from Amazon Original Stories via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this, although it did fall a bit flat when compared to her other work. I loved the characters but that bit about the cousins/his ex wife was a little odd, kinda like it was a last minute addition. I really liked the plot though and how the MMC helped the FMC grow comfortable enough to stand up to her stalker, and I liked the fact that there was nice chemistry between the characters (albeit a bit rushed though cause it's a short story)

Quick and easy read. The author does a great job of giving the readers a sense of how the love story between Charlotte and Seth begins in this novella. The side-characters were great too!
Recommended for a quick read.
Thank you to the publisher for the ARC via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Abby Jimenez can not do anything wrong! This is a perfect short story with funny dialogue, cute main characters, and hilarious side characters. And as always, Jimenez mixes her rom-com with serious topics (in this case stalking). This is done flawlessly and gives the story more depth and feels realistic and modern. Totally recommend if you're a fan and/or want a short story in between some heavier reads.
The orange peel theory!!! 🍊🧡
I got this cute short story through #netgalley (thank you!!!) and finished it straight away 💕

I listened and read along on audio and Julia Whelan did it again. Abby Jimenez is an auto-buy author for me. Seth is a sweetheart, he has his roots firmly planted and I devoured this story.

Thank you NetGalley and Abby Jimenez for the ARC of The Fall Risk.
I loved this novella so much! It was so cute and funny and everything I look for in a romcom. I think my favorite part was the fish Swim Shady!!

Abby is the queen of romcom. Although, I love her full length novels more than the short stories, this one was a gem. The short stories just leave me wanting more because I fall in love with the characters. I loved that this short story had some depth to it and had some difficult topics. Her characters are quirky and fun. I can’t wait for the next one!

Such a cute short story. Seth and Charlotte are neighbors on the 2nd floor of their apartment building. One morning, they both wake up to the stairs missing. This is how they meet..the landlord confirming that the work team removed the wrong steps and now it would be several days before a team could get back out there. So Seth and Charlotte both agree to stay put for several days. Their friends, Izzy and Gabe, help out by bringing them things, via a pulley system. With only each other to interact with, they spend each day together. But Charlotte has an issue she has been dealing with for years and it’s imprisoned her. Now, as much as she wants to like Seth, she doesn’t want to drag him into her drama. But Seth is determined to prove to her, he is there to stay.
Aww..such a sweet story. Seth is so sweet doing small things to make Charlotte comfortable, and giving them some much needed entertainment. Fun, short read, sweet, entertaining read.

Abby Jimenez delivers again! This is such a fun, cute, unique story. Though it surprised me a bit with how violent the story was, it felt quick and relatable and sweet. This was excellent as a short read between heavier books, and I will always sign up for more Abby!
