A lighthearted, cute collection about the joys, perils, and hard truths of being a dog owner. If you have a fur buddy of your own, you'll no doubt see yourself reflected in at least one of these comics. Not laugh-out-loud funny, but a very sweet ode to our four-legged friends. It'll at least put a smile on your face.

A great book to share with anyone who has ever owned a dog. Combining illustrations and funny phases (I especially loved the picture of the bride with a dog on her lap saying she couldn't move since the dog was napping there) you will have a guarenteed perfect present for that dog lover in your life,

These comics are so true!!! I am a dog mom and I felt every one of these in my heart. It is so true the love someone can have for a dog. They become so much more than a pet, they become family. This book was so cute and I would recommend this to everyone I know that has a dog.

It was ok......I love dogs, & could relate to/appreciate some of the sketches. It really didn't end up with me 'overly taken' with the comics offering..... meh....
I received a digital ARC from publisher Andrews McMeel via NetGalley for review purposes. This is my own fair/honest review.

A cute book for dog owners who can probably empathize with everything written here. The format of the book itself reminded me of the old joke books where there would be an image with a one liner.

3 stars

Two cartoonists from “The New Yorker” wrote and illustrated this short volume dedicated to those of us who love and spoil our canines. Cute, could make a good hostess gift or the like for the appropriate person. There’s a little mini-story tucked among some pages that touched my heart.

Cute little coffee table book for real dog lovers! Definitely relatable and very sweet. The illustrations were cute and loved having diverse dogs and owners depicted.

A couple of choices were a bit annoying as they glorified dog owners who feel entitled to forego some social expectations (not bringing dogs to non pet friendly businesses for example) but overall it’s a lighthearted experience.

This book was really cute and I related to a lot of it. My dog certainly fits a lot of the examples as well, and the illustrations were super cute.

Cute for dog owners, dog lovers, and fans of humorous comics. The comics are entertaining, of sometimes a little stereotypical.

This book would make a perfect gift for any dog obsessed dog owner. The illustrations were amusing and every page was just spot on. It is not a particularly long read and is probably best as a gift to a dog lover.

I love these kinds of cute little humor books, and the writer and illustrator absolutely understand the struggle of trying to behave when it's so much better to reward my misbehaving pet because I love him so much. I kept thinking, Yep, done that, thought that. This would be a fun gift for a fellow pet lover or a gift for yourself to pick up when you need a quick laugh.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

2.5* This was ok... The art was not my style but it was cute. It was about 50/50 on whether the plot points were funny or unrelatable, and I really am a serious dog mom. I currently have 3 dogs and have fostered many in the past. I felt like this was kind of repetitive and boring. There was a mini story that was sprinkled throughout about a stray being adopted and that was cute, but it was such a small portion and felt very randomly placed. Honestly I would have enjoyed this more if that was the story. There really isnt a story to this, just points on each page for dog owners. It fell very flat for me.

I don’t have a dog, but this book had me laughing from beginning to end! It does a great job capturing the funny habits of dog owners, from their puppy talk to their never-ending dog photos. The humor is spot on, making it a fun and enjoyable read—even if you don’t have a dog yourself. If you love dogs or just like watching how dog owners act, you’ll definitely enjoy this book! I

’m excited for the authors’ next book about being a New Yorker—I’m sure it’ll be just as funny.

Big thanks to NetGalley, the authors, and the publisher for the chance to read this early!

Thank you to Andrews McNeel Publishing for this book in exchange for my honest review. As a dog owner, I laughed out loud at many of the scenarios in this quick, illustrated book. I could honestly relate to most of the situations describing what dog owners do, say, and go through. Dogs are life! If you’re looking for a lighthearted, quick, relatable read to boost your mood, this is it.
