So fun! I always enjoy Lana Ferguson's writing style, as she keeps readers invested with both dialogue and prose, along with the large amounts of steamy romance and lust included in every page!

Thank you @lanafergusonwrites, @berkleyromance, and @berkleypub for the #gifted ebook ARC and @prhaudio for the #gifted audiobook. #prhaudioinfluencer All opinions are my own.
✨ From rivals to something way more complicated
✨ Office tension turned full-on obsession
✨ Black cat heroine meets golden retriever hero
✨ Verbal sparring that sparks fire
✨ Spice dial cranked all the way up
The tension between Dani and Ezra had me glued to the story. Their banter was sharp and addictive, the chemistry never let up, and the way Ezra refused to back down while Dani fought so hard against her own feelings was electric. Every scene built like a slow burn you know is going to explode and when it finally did… perfection. Add in the twists of the case, the drama in their careers, and you’ve got a romance that is both scorching and so much fun.
🎧 The audiobook? An absolute must! Connor Crais and Samantha Summers brought the story to life with duet narration that made their arguments even hotter! The audio made the tension feel even more unrelenting and it is absolutely worth the listen.
If you want a workplace rivals romance with clever back-and-forth, serious steam, and a hero who will not give up on love, Overruled is your next read.

This book had so much potential, it’s honestly wild. The whole rival divorce lawyers thing? I was so here for it. And I have to say, the legal side plot was genuinely interesting and the spice was definitely on point. Plus, I’m in love with Ezra! He was funny, charming, and pretty much carried the entire book on his back. Seriously, he deserved a better love interest.
And that’s where things went wrong. I tried so hard to like Danica, but her immaturity and constant complaining were a huge turn-off. The drama just felt so unbelievable, especially for a thirty-something lawyer. It’s like they had tons of chemistry but zero emotional connection. They just kept repeating the same hookup cycle without ever actually talking or growing as a couple. It’s a fun, quick read for the beach, but don’t expect any real depth.

I really enjoyed this one! I loved the way the relationship between Ezra and Dani grew throughout the book. It was so sweet the way Dani softened for Ezra as the book went on. I loved how Ezra and his mom welcomed Dani into their small family. This was sweet and steamy!

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

I love the enemies-to-lovers trope along with spice, and this has it all!! Also in dual POV keeps things interesting because you can see the characters developing and see how they each feel. And I couldn't put this book down! Going to listen to the audiobook next. Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for giving me early access to this book.

This book surprised me! I am a sucker for a good enemies to lovers trope and this one delivered. However, it was the heart felt character growth that surprised me the most. It was really well done. Highly recommend.

I tried, I really did, but I just did not enjoy the book. I always love to find books with Main Characters in their thirties. But this book had an FMC that was in her thirties but had the attitude and reactions of someone much younger and much more juvenile. This alone, was enough to distract me and keep me from enjoying the book.
The book follows two divorce lawyers pitted against each other in a divorce between two very rich clients. The chemistry is good, the relationship is okay but again, some of the reactions to situations seemed very juvenile for a woman in her thirties and one with a law degree at that. Let's just say I would choose the MMC to represent me if I were having to choose between him and her.

Okay, this book took spicy and ran with it from chapter one. If Dani and Ezra are anything, it’s capital H, HORNY. He falls first, but I think she falls harder. I love the character development from every angle including the older brother Eli 👀 👀 I’d love to see a novel for his character arc!
The audio book is HOT 🥵 Overall, a good listen/read. Would definitely swipe right on this one.
Thank you to Net Galley and the Publisher for an eARC of this novel!

I really enjoy Lana Ferguson’s writing. She always has something up her sleeve.
This one was no exception, I lobed the premise of this one and the execution was everything!

When we meet opposing divorce lawyers Dani and Ezra, they’re already involved in a no-strings physical relationship. It’s clear that it’s not working for either of them, though, even if one of them is in deep denial. And they know they’ve got great chemistry. But it’ll take a lot of work and introspection if they ever have a shot at something more.
It’s an interesting choice to drop us into the middle of the arrangement between Dani and Ezra. We never get a backstory of how they got together in the first place, but we don’t really need it to understand what’s happening. The non-romantic plot is…a lot. The villains are evil. The stakes are very high. It was stressful.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

3.5⭐️ Rivals to lovers lawyers who are hooking up in the first few pages? I knew the spice was going to be spicing in this one, and it definitely was! Ferguson drops you right into the story, so it took me a little while to warm up to this couple. Since we didn’t see much of the beginning of their arrangement, I wasn't sure this would work for me, but the couple grew on me as the story progressed.
Ezra grew on me more than Dani, if you love a sweetheart with a smart mouth, you'll probably love him! His family drama was actually my favourite part of the book. Dani, on the other hand was pricklier and harder to connect with. Her dislike of Ezra never felt warranted aside from when they were opposing council, and her family drama felt juvenile compared to his.
If you're in the mood for a spicy workplace romance with a side of family drama, this will deliver, though for me it didn’t quite stand out enough in any one area to become a new favourite.

Lana Ferguson doesn't miss with her romances. If you're looking for a fun, fast, sexy read: look no further.
Both characters were fleshed out; they each had complex backgrounds which led to amazing character development on both parties by the end of the story. There is also nothing more satisfying than reading an rivals-with-benefits to lovers workplace romance book. Everything about the interactions between Ezra and Dani were fantastic: the banter, the tension, the spice. This is such a fun read and highly recommend to lovers of the romance genre!

This book is everything! I loved the tension, burn, storyline, characters. I read this book in 2 days and immediately had my husband read it - who gave it 5 stars. I liked the spice, it was nicely done. I loved that it was dual POV! Just the perfect amount of angst, spice and laughs. This is one of my favorite work place romance tropes so far!

DNF at around 40% – UGH. After loving The Fake Mate, I was excited to read another book by this author with lawyers (especially since I’m a paralegal and can relate to a lot of it). I was so excited to read this! However, it immediately started off with them having sex, so the banter and tension I crave from my romance books were lost. This didn’t have the yearning I wanted, and with there being so much sex and just nastiness from the FMC towards the MMC in the first 30%, I had to call it quits. I’m sorry, but without that build-up, I’m just not sure what the point is to continue. The FMC was so mean and nasty, and the choices they were making as attorneys were outrageous and truly teen-like behavior. I couldn’t find a good reason to continue, so I DNFed.
I am a little curious about the divorce case they’re both handling on opposite sides and the family conflicts, but I still feel like without tension and build-up, I can’t continue.
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Think Legally Blonde, except the FMC is utterly prickly, with a lot of spice!
No slow-burn here, friends, because we have a just-a-hookup to lovers trope.
Dani and Ezra are rival divorce lawyers who oppose each other in court… but not the bedroom.
Both of them have baggage, but there might be something there between them, no matter that they’re usually working against each other professionally.
These two are professional enemies, y’all.
We have a he falls first scenario, fun nicknames, the wittiest of banter, and of course… all the spice!
I love how this is the most unexpected couple, but they work together so perfectly.
It was also surprisingly sweet, and I was here for every page.
Basically, Lana Ferguson knows how to deliver romance, and this is yet another example of an excellent love story centered around divorce law and family!

I have not enjoyed a rivals-to lovers like this since I read the hating game. This was so good I love the banter and the competitive strike these two had towards each other. Erza was my favorite I love his story and of course the fact that he fell first (I love this trope😍). Dani was a good character too but I was somewhat annoyed with her indecision about her relationship with Ezra.
The reason I don’t give this story a higher rating is because I felt that we were dropped in the middle of the story I didn’t like being left out to see their beginnings and how they met and how is that their relationship progressed as to what is was when the book started.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the opportunity to read Overruled by Lana Ferguson.
Both Dani and Ezra are opposing lawyers in the court room. Each case they work separately, brings them together. The irony of their professional relationship seeps into their personal relationship. Especially when a new high stakes divorce case lands in both their laps.
I enjoyed the banter between these two. The tension and the friendship that develops. I felt the conflicts were real and not just thrown in. This was a fun book to read.
Tropes:
Workplace Rivals
He fell first
Grumpy meets comical sarcasm
I wouldn’t call this enemies to lovers

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an ARC copy of this book!
Y'all, I absolutely loved this. Opposing lawyers who are hooking up? Sign. Me. Up. The work rivals to lovers trope is sooo good in this one!
Both Dani and Ezra are lawyers at opposing firms. The book starts with them being friends with benefits while also being rivals. I mean, come on!!! They also both have somewhat complex backgrounds with their families and complex ideas about life. But they are both extremely intelligent (lawyers, duh) and know how to be there for each other emotionally and physically. I actually enjoyed the fact that both characters had issues going on and it wasn't one of them saving the other, They worked together on their problems and understood how to stand strong for the other person.
This id definitely giving "he falls first and harder" but you can definitely tell that underneath her façade at the beginning, Dani truly cares for Ezra and totally loves him. I think this book also had some of the best rom com worth banter ever. If you're thinking or reading this one, you need to!

I loved reading this book! My favourite part was the banter between the two main characters and the tension they had while being on their respective sides of opposing counsel. I liked the information given into the legal profession and found it interesting, especially when I usually don’t enjoy subplots and want to focus on the main story. Overall, I was rooting for both of these characters from the start of book right to the end and when they did finally get the happily ever after they deserve, it was so heartwarming. Thank you for providing me with this ARC. I have already been hand-selling it on the sales floor since release date and met with positive response!
