I liked this one. I thought it was a fun read and enjoyed Janice and Dirk coming together. These two have a heck of a history and I enjoyed learning all the details. There are a lot of ups and downs and it took them a while to get to their HEA but ultimately they did. There are a few time lapses I found odd, not just months but years and I felt like I was missing a lot. Here's the deal, I liked it but didn't love it. It was good but I could easily put it down, I was just missing that pull that makes it exciting to read the story. However, I liked their heat and connection so I kept right on reading. So, it was good, I enjoyed it, and plan on continuing on with the series.

Those who love Cowboy romance will love this second in the story, Rough Rider. Rough Rider is the second installment in the Hot Cowboy nights series. This story follows the story of Dirk and Janice. Vane teaches us that love can be rocky and it's never easy. I think this is what the story so realistic and beautiful. If you love a western romance with an amazing story, then you have to read this story!

Everything about this series hits my buttons. Cowboys, veterans, hurt to love. The second book is just as good as the first, and Victoria Vane is on my auto buy list.
