Thank you for the gifted eARC!
This was my first thriller, but I feel a little let down with this one. I didn’t mind it, but I definitely wasn’t invested in this story. I was hoping for more of an adrenaline rush and sense of urgency while listening to this!

Rowan, an architect and single mother to a teenager, is still coping with the aftermath of a recent breakup when her life takes a shocking turn. Tracking her ex-boyfriend’s location via a GPS app on her phone, she notices he’s parked suspiciously at her office just a few blocks away. Curious—and admittedly hoping to catch him on a date—she decides to go for a run to casually cross paths. Instead, she makes a horrifying discovery: his dead body inside his car. Suddenly, Rowan finds herself the prime suspect in his murder. Determined to prove her innocence, she plunges into uncovering the truth, quickly becoming entangled in a dark web of hidden pasts and dangerous secrets.
This was a solid 4-star read filled with murder, suspense, multiple points of view, and a touch of romance. The story was entertaining, the pacing strong, and it kept me guessing throughout. Just when I thought I had it figured out, Bowen delivered a twist, and then another in the final chapter. The character development was well done, making the plot even more engaging. If you’re a fan of mystery thrillers with a good balance of suspense and surprise, this one’s definitely worth picking up.

This was a thriller about a woman named Shelby who survives an attack on her life one evening. A year and a half later, she starts to receive threatening messages, possibly in regard to that evening 15 months ago. Her best friend Mackenzie happened to have her husband Leo go missing the very same night Shelby was attacked. The senior citizens who live in the home Shelby owns try to help her as well. This book had a couple of good twists and turns, but the seniors who helped were a bit too much for me. Even though it is kind of them to get involved, it seemed a bit of a stretch. Also, the way things ended felt rushed and a solution came out of nowhere. I did like the book, but it was not my favorite from Seraphine Nova Glass.

This book was a little bit slow for my taste, but I think others will enjoy it.
It starts off really strong with some shocking events, which had me hooked pretty quickly.
The rest of the book was very long and drawn out with a lot of characters that you need to keep up with, and a group of elderly armchair internet sleuths, so you very early on get the feeling that no one will believe them if they do discover anything, because of their age.
The book was fine, and I think people who are fans of slow burn mysteries will enjoy it.

Thank you @htp_hive, @htpbooks and @netgalley for both my e-ARC and ALC of Nothing Ever Happens Here by Seraphina Nova Glass! Last year, I read On A Quiet Street by the author and LOVED it, so I was excited to check out another title by her.
Shelby was attacked at her friend Mack and Leo’s restaurant and left for dead, but she is saved just in time and survives. Fifteen months later, Shelby is focused on moving forward with life for herself, her husband, and two young daughters- until she starts receiving threatening messages that appear to be from her attacker. Mack’s husband Leo has also been missing since the night of the attack and Mack is a mess over both the loss/disappearance of her husband and the mess that Leo left behind for her. Shelby and Mack are trying to put together the pieces from that night to figure out what happened to Leo and who is trying to hurt Shelby- with very little help from the police and allllll the help of the senior citizen residents of The Oleander, an assisted living facility that Shelby manages.
There were elements of this novel that I enjoyed such as the pacing and multiple POVs, but I especially loved the endearing cast of characters at The Oleander- the true stars of the novel! However, it seemed like this was two different books merged into one. In some ways, it was a dark, twisty thriller, which I always love (and it was definitely dark!), but in other ways this book read as a cozy mystery with the humor and focus on the senior citizen sleuths at The Oleander. I think the book had the opportunity to successfully go in one direction, but in trying to accomplish both it seemed a little disjointed and in a bit of an identity crisis over what it wanted to be. The ending was also a bit of a stretch and appeared to tie up a little *too* nicely. I did really enjoy On A Quiet Street and would still be interested in checking out another title by the author, but this one was just a miss for me.

3 Stars! 🌟 Huge thanks to Harlequin Audio & NetGalley for sending me the ALC! 🎧💌
Nothing Ever Happens Here was a mixed bag for me... it had me hooked at the start, but let’s just say it didn’t stay that way! I’ll be honest, it didn’t fully win me over like I’d hoped, but it still had a few redeeming moments that kept me going.
Shelby Dawson survived a brutal attack 15 months ago, and she’s just trying to move on with her life. But guess what? Someone’s not done with her. She gets a threatening note on her car windshield, and that’s when the drama begins! Add in a viral case, a group of senior citizens causing some chaos, and a small-town setting, and boom—things go from bad to worse.
The pacing was... kinda all over the place! 🚶♀️ At times, it was dragging and hard to get into, especially with the multiple POVs. There were just too many characters, and I was left trying to remember who was who. Some were super interesting, like the senior citizen squad, who definitely added some much-needed color to the story. Florence’s chapters? The best part, no doubt! She was fun, and I was invested in her storyline more than the others.
But oh boy, the ending? 🤦♀️ It was like the author threw in a twist just for the sake of it, and honestly? It was too much. 🙄 The big reveal? Kinda unbelievable and had me rolling my eyes so hard! 😑 The plot got a bit too OTT, and I was left wondering how I ended up here.
On the bright side, the humor was a pleasant surprise! I didn’t expect to get some laughs in the middle of all this suspense, but I’m glad the author brought that balance. It kept things from being too heavy!
Overall, I didn’t hate it, but I’m not completely sold on picking up more of Seraphina Nova Glass’s books just yet. I loved her character development, but the story? Eh, it didn’t totally capture me like I wanted it to. 🤷♀️ If you're a fan of twisty thrillers and small-town mysteries, you might enjoy this, but for me... it’s just a “meh” in the thriller department.

So, Nothing Ever Happens Here was a fun ride in some spots, but it didn’t hit all the marks for me. I’ll still keep an eye out for what this author writes next, but for now, this one’s just okay!

Nothing Ever Happens Here by Nova Glass is perfect for fans of the tv show A Man on the Inside! The novel follows two best friends, one who was left to die in a locked freezer and one whose husband disappeared leaving her with his debts. Who is going to solve this mystery? The useless small-town town police? Absolutely not. Deciding they've had enough of it, a small group of friends who live in a retirement home decide that it's up to them! Mixing some cozy mystery/Scooby-Doo Gang tropes with a suspenseful thriller, this book is highly entertaining and will keep you guessing.

This was a fast- paced story, but lacked twists and suspense. The characters and multi-POV were ok, but overall the plot and especially the ending were lackluster. As always, Britanny Pressley killed her audio portion. The other two did well, but couldn't compare.
I loved the first book I read by this author, so this may just not have connected with me personally. I will definitely check out her other work.
Thank you to Harlequin Audio and NetGalley for the advanced copy!

I would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I wanted to like this book more than I did, the premise was interesting, the setting, and all the senior citizens trying to help solve a crime while making a podcast but unfortunately the story fell a little flat for me.

Nothing Ever Happens Here- by Seraphina Nova Glass
4.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was the first book I have ever read by this author, and I was not disappointed! This is a multi POV book about a group of friends who try and solve a mystery together. Shelby and MacKenzie (Mac) are best friends who are both struck by tragedy on the same night. Shelby is attacked and left for dead in Mac's restaurant, and the same night Mac's husband Leo disappears without a trace with no explanation as to why.
Several months later Shelby and Mac are finally starting to find a new normal, when or if nowhere Shelby's attacker resurfaces and starts taunting her. At the same time Mac is wondering if she never knew her husband at all as new unsettling information is uncovered about his financial habits.
During all of this a concerned group of senior citizens takes it upon themselves to start a podcast to try and solve these mysteries in their small town, and they end up going viral in the process!
This author throws in several interesting twists in turns in this book with a final plot twist I didn't see coming, which is really great! I'll definitely be recommending this book to my thriller/mystery loving friends!

This was an average thriller. It kept me hooked and wanting more, but the ending was nothing special.

I never expected this book to be so funny! Florence and the other residents at The Oleanders' senior living facility (where Shelby works) become amateur sleuths and start a podcast to investigate mysterious events in their town. I felt like the portrayal of the "gossipy seniors" was spot on.
The thriller aspect and Shelby's story were well done. There were so many surprises and twists that I was guessing until the very end.
𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘏𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦 is the perfect book for you if you like thrillers, especially ones with a little bit of humor 😉

I'm this wintry audiobook, Shelby Dawson survived an attack that should have killed her. Fifteen months later, she’s rebuilding her life—until a note appears with the same threat her attacker made. Suddenly, she’s back in a nightmare that won’t let go. As strange accidents pile up and new evidence resurfaces, Shelby starts asking the same question as everyone else: Who attacked her that night? And what really happened to her best friend’s missing husband?
Going in, I expected a pulse-pounding thriller based on the style of cover, but what I got was something different—slower, cozier, and unexpectedly funny in places. The senior citizens who accidentally make Shelby’s case go viral were my favorite part. Their banter had the charm of a small-town sitcom, but their involvement in the mystery was surprisingly crucial. It gave the book a unique balance between dark suspense and lighthearted mischief, and I enjoyed hearing how the audiobook narrator made every member come to life.
That said, the pacing leans toward a slow burn, which might not work for readers expecting nonstop tension. The story takes its time unraveling, but if you enjoy mysteries that feel like a mix of Only Murders in the Building and small-town drama, this one might be for you.
Overall, this was a mystery that subverts expectations—less high-octane thriller, more small-town suspense with an endearing (and meddling) supporting cast. If you like your mysteries with a touch of cozy and a dash of dark humor, you’ll enjoy this one.

I thoroughly enjoyed both the audiobook and physical copy of this book. The author's writing was rich, well-structured, and kept me hooked from start to finish. Florence and her crime podcast crew, along with the other side characters, were a highlight for me. While I was fully engaged throughout, I did find some of the ending details a bit far-fetched. Overall, I loved the book and I'm excited to read more from this author in the future.

I loved the characters in this novel. Whenever senior citizens get together to solve a crime, it's always a hoot. It just reminds me of my granny and her friends gossiping while playing cards. Except the seniors in this story really get involved to solve the case. I do get a little frustrated when characters complain about how the police aren't doing anything to solve the case, but they are holding onto crucial evidence that could help them. Also how many people can get hit in the head one time and "the world goes black" then they wake up and are able to think and act clearly? Overall, this was a fun read with some dark themes. The seniors made me want to keep listening to see what they would uncover next. The narrators were great, and kept me listening.

A very BIG thank you to #NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for sending me this ALC in exchange for my honest review.
About the book: The starts of with character Shelby Dawson surviving a gruesome attack that should have left her dead, but she somehow how survived it. She tries to move on with her life and get past horrible thoughts of that night.
Over a year later, Shelby is starting to feel safe again with the help of her bff Mackenzie, in her little Minnesota home town.
One night though Shelby finds a note on her windshield, and written on the note are the same threats her attacker made, and Shelby realizes her nightmare is back!
As new evidence comes to light, a groups of older adults, who are trying to help, accidentally make the case go viral. The situation quickly gets worse and worse. suspicious actions keep happening to those closest to Shelby. Shelby feels like she is constantly being watched and she tries to stay one step ahead all the time. Everyone wants to know who attacked her that night?
Mackenzie also has questions about the night Shelby was attacked. That very same night Mackenzie’s husband disappeared, and over a year later there are still no answers as to why. Mackenzie decides to dig deeper into his finances and finds he has a large history of debt, and hidden accounts. One account is still active and has even very recently been used. So is Leo still alive?
After another person close to Shelby goes missing, she realizes that she must find out who her attacker is before it’s too late!
What I thought: For me the story started off very strong. Shelby is attacked at work and left for dead. It was very gripping. But then the story had parts that kind of lost me or I didn’t feel like fit. The senior citizens and the podcast parts, I kind of felt were kind of “silly” for the story. Like the story is supposed to be a thriller/mystery but that part of the story didn’t feel like way. It was hard to take them seriously. The story did pick back up in the second half, and I did enjoy the twists along the way. I didn’t guess the attacker before they were revealed, so that did surprise me. This story is told from different POV and this audiobook had a full cast, so I thought that really helped bring the story to life. Overall, I enjoyed this book. It kept my attention, and I’ll definitely be looking into reading more by this author! I am rating this book 3.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
Brittany Pressley, Stacey Glemboski, and Petrea Burchard all did amazing job narrating this story and helping bring it to life!

3.5 stars rounded up. Nothing Ever Happens Here was a pretty solid read! It hooked me right away with this super intense and emotional story about Shelby Dawson, who’s trying to rebuild her life after surviving a terrifying attack. The audiobook narrator? Amazing. But I’m not gonna lie—there were so many characters that I kept losing track of who was who (especially while listening).
The beginning was hands-down my favorite part—it had me glued to the story. The middle, though? It slowed down quite a bit, especially with the senior citizen podcast gang. BUT, some of their banter legit made me laugh out loud, so I didn’t mind it too much. And don’t worry—the pace picks back up toward the end, and it all wraps up in a fun, satisfying way. Also, Shelby’s inner dialogue? Loved it. She felt so real and relatable.
If you’re into thrillers but don’t want anything too scary, I’d totally recommend this one. It’s got suspense, humor, and plenty of twists to keep things interesting!

Thank you HTP, The Hive, and Harlequin Audio for the gifted digital and audio copies.

This was an enjoyable, fast paced thriller! Told from three POV and with multiple mysteries happening at once, I was constantly guessing who did what and who could be trusted.
Best friends Shelby and Mackenzie have both endured a lot. Shelby was attacked and nearly died. Mackenzie’s husband went missing the same night. Fifteen months later anonymous threats are being placed and people are disappearing, or worse.
The absolute best part of this book was the sleuthing senior citizens. They live in a senior community but they are still living life to the fullest! They decide to use their podcast as a tool to help solve these mysteries. I love representation of older characters in books, and in a thriller it was absolutely amazing.
🎧 I read this one exclusively with my ears and thought it was fantastic! Definitely recommend this format if you’re an audiobook lover.

This was my first experience with Seraphina Nova Glass, and it was a stellar introduction to her work. The novel kicks off with relentless suspense that never lets up. This was masterfully coupled with a multiple POV narrative set within a singular timeline, creating a continuous, fluid flow that perfectly complements the dark, twisty, and chilling vibes captured flawlessly by the narrators.
A standout element is the whodunit mystery: every time I thought I had identified the villain, the story skillfully sent me back to square one, making it feel like a thrilling game of "Guess Who." In the same respect, while the story is richly layered with a diverse cast—all of whom have excellent depth—I sometimes struggled to connect with the secondary characters due to their sheer number, which made it hard to recall who was who. Overall, despite this minor drawback, the elaborate twists, eyebrow-raising shockers, and nail-biting tension made for an engaging and memorable read.
** Please also note that I posted my above review on Amazon as well, but the review has not gone live on their site yet.

If you love thrillers packed with shocking moments, close calls, and small-town secrets, Nothing Ever Happens Here is a must-read. Set in a snowy Minnesota town, this book delivers twist after twist, keeping you on edge every few chapters.
The multiple POVs make for an engaging read, allowing different perspectives to unravel the town’s icy threats and long-buried secrets. The characters are well-developed, with unexpected heroes emerging in surprising ways. Glass also weaves in a sly sense of humor, adding a layer of wit to the suspense.
The audiobook narration by Brittany Pressley, Stacey Glemboski, and Petrea Burchard is fantastic. Each narrator brings depth to their characters, enhancing the tension and making the multiple perspectives feel distinct and immersive.
Fast-paced, full of twists, and brimming with atmosphere, Nothing Ever Happens Here is a thriller that proves plenty does happen—even in the quietest of places.
