I found this book to be interesting and took a couple of key takeaway before I pick up a drink.. I thought this book was more on suggestions to make yourself think if a drink is worth it or manage any issues around it but really I found the author is trying to convince me i was an alcoholic. - i swear im not!
overall, ive not read much like this specific book, thanks netgalley for the opportunity to read and review.

Tipsy by Dr. Alicia Lamberghini-West, Pilar Karlen Triplett is an extremely timely and important book on the increasing population of alcohol-dependent women, I am consistently reading books on health and wellness, so I was looking forward to a book on drinking focusing on the ties to women. Unfortunately, I did not love the writing - the tone was a bit condescending which is always a battle in self-help books.

As someone who enjoys a glass or 2 of wine with dinner, I went into this book with an open mind. As such, I was able to take away some good points:
• Practice self-compassion instead of judgment
• Think about what you gain vs. what you lose
• Inhale the future, exhale the past (my favorite)
These are great points, not just where quitting drinking is concerned, but also in almost anything you do. The book also challenges you not to drink for 21 days. After the 21 days, you will see how you feel and go from there.
I feel like the book is a little misrepresented. It mentions in the description that it “is designed for women who don’t consider themselves alcoholics, but are noticing that their relationship to alcohol has become … complicated.” However, it seemed to be more focused on convincing the reader they actually are an alcoholic and all the bad that can come from this. I frequently found myself skipping parts, I’m not single so reading lots of examples of how single women use drinking to help with dating was unnecessary for me.
Ultimately, I will test myself with the 21 day challenge and see how I feel. So, I will be back in 21ish days (or longer if I have to restart) and give my final rating and review….
