Loved this book!! Original, twisty and gripping - psychological fiction at its finest!
Kate is a vet, recently separated from her husband, and bringing up her 10 year old son. One night she spends the night with Jamie, a man she meets in the bar. They arrange to meet at his apartment the next day, only when Kate turns up...she finds Jamie has been brutally murdered. Having killed an attacker as a teenager, Kate is loathe to notify the police and instead flees the crime scene. Kate later confides to her therapist that she believes Jamie actually has a widow...who is out to kill her! So much happens in this novel that I haven't even touched on for fear of providing spoilers - this is such a great read that I really wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone. I would 110% recommend it to all readers of this genre.
My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

THE LAST ONE TO SEE HIM BY KATHRYN CROFT.
Release date set for the 26th of March 2025.
5 STARS.
I think this is my first book by this author.
I was drawn to the cover of this book and the blurb sounded so good.
Once i started reading i knew this was going to be a good one .
The prologue alone sucked me straight in.
I loved the whole story and it was so fast paced so i flew through the pages.
I highly recommend this book when it's released.
Just brilliant.

The Last One to See Him is a quick read with lots of twists. I am giving it 3.5 stars rounded up.
The plot kept me interested and I did stay up late to read what would happen next. However, I felt there were a lot of characters and storylines to keep up with. I also felt some parts of plot were left unresolved. I did have suspicion on who the villain of the story was that ended up being correct. I think this story is worth the read.
Thank you to Bookouture, Kathryn Croft, and Netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC.

Kate, recently separated from her husband, meets the charismatic Jamie on a night out. After a wonderful evening together, Kate returns to Jamie's flat the next day to see him again. Only when she shows up, Jamie is lying in a pool of blood. Murdered. Kate flees to flat, as she does not want to be associated with his murder. Due to events in the past, Kate is skeptical that the police will believe her when she says she was not involved.
Kate tries to move on his her life. Her son has made friends with the new boy in his class. When Kate is over at the new friend's house, she discovers that his mother was married to Jamie. But Jamie told her that he was also separated from his wife. What does his wife know?
Wow what a great read! This was my first Kathryn Croft read - it definitely will not be my last! This book was full of crazy twists and turns. I genuinely did not know where the story was going. Kathryn Croft did a great job at making every character seem untrustworthy - I did not know who to believe and kept changing my mind about who was telling the truth. I gobbled this one up in two sittings as I simply could not put it down. The suspense level was high and I had to know what was happening!
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Another fantastic psychological thriller which I could not put down. Kathryn Croft has a way of hooking you right from the start. I loved everything about this how the characters were written the unique story and how well written the characters were. It had a bit of everything lies, murder and so much mystery I could not predict how it was going to end.
Kate is a single mum who doesn’t get a lot of free time so when she goes out with a friend she gets chatting to Jamie she instantly feels comfortable so when she gets in a position were she needs to share a taxi she goes for it but this decision leads Kate life to fall apart.
I can’t praise this book enough it was an amazing psychological thriller which had me hooked and I can’t wait to recommend it to everyone thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this fantastic book.

Kate meets Jamie on a night out and arranges to meet him again the next afternoon. But on arrival at his apartment the next day, she discovers his dead body. But because of her past, she decides she can't call the police, but then she feels threatened by a new mother at her sons school who she believes knows too much. Her life unravels from there.
Oh my goodness, this book had me tied up in knots from the beginning to the end. I felt a sense of unease throughout as I processed what was happening to Kate. Was she a reliable narrator? Who was telling the truth? I read the book in two sittings as I just couldn't put it down.
It's intense, dark and just brilliant. Already I feel it could be one of my top books from 2025.

Wow this book had me up all night trying to work out who was the killer and why someone seems determined to destroy Kate’s life over something she did as a child. As her whole world seems to be falling apart is the wife of her dead one night stand to blame or is something darker going on entirely. This twist knocked me off my feet which was brilliant. A really good read.

What a wild ride. The day after spending the night with Jamie, a man she met in a bar, Kate returns to his apartment and finds him dead. She panics and runs away, but soon after finds out that Jamie is the father of her son’s new schoolmate.
This book is so chock-full of twists and turns that you need to read it in as few sittings as possible or you’ll lose track of the plot. It is centered around a small cast of characters, some relatable and others not so much, yet don’t think you have any of them figured out. The question is: who is the most deceptive and manipulative? I loved trying to guess how it would end, but I would have never figured it out. One of those books you can’t put down. I loved it!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Kathryn Croft’s The Last One to See Him is a suspenseful psychological thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish. With expertly crafted characters and a storyline that constantly kept me on the edge of my seat, this book is a must-read and I would highly recommend!

This is the first book I've read by Kathryn Croft and now I'm wondering why I had never heard of her. THE LAST ONE TO SEE HIM was an addictive, suspenseful thriller with some many unexpected twists and turns. The plot sounded similar to so many other thrillers I've already read, but Croft was successful at giving it a fresh and unique perspective. I was literally anxious as I read it. Without giving away any spoilers, the book shows how people do desperate things when they're pushed to their limit.
I rate this book four out of five stars and highly recommend it to all psychological thriller lovers.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing this book, with my honest review below.
Kate meets Jamie at a bar during an uncomfortable night out and goes home with him, clicking right away. This is something to be cheered on as Kate is recently separated from her husband Ellis after his infidelity and Kate has struggled for years with her abduction as a child, so getting on so well with Jamie, a stranger, is a rare occurrence. Unfortunately Kate finds out the next day that he was murdered and, soon after, that he was married to Harper, a fellow mother of her own son’s friend. With the mystery getting ever more complicated - was the murderer Harper? Could Ellis be after her? Or even someone who knows that there was more to her abduction than she has disclosed? - Kate’s scattered with very few to trust outside of her therapist Rowan and her belief that something is happening that isn’t quite right, and she’s the ultimate target. The Last One to See Him is a hard mystery to try to guess in advance, twisty and complex and very much a nail biter.

So many surprises, this book had me from the start. Loved it!
Thank you so much to NetGalley, the author and Bookouture for this ARC.

Mysterious and complex thriller. An enjoyable read. Thanks @netgalley for the opportunity to read this book.

Well I wasn’t expecting that! What a thriller! Great writing, great characters and just enough twists to keep you wanting to read late into the night. It didn’t take me long to get completely engrossed in this thriller. Looking forward to reading more by this author! Recommend 100%!
Thanks to the author, bookstore and Netgalley for an EARC in return for an honest review

This story got his claws into me and had me hooked.
Authors are wonderful manipulators. They feed you some information and they take you by the hand. You follow meekly, because, in the beginning, that's the only thing you can do. You don't have enough details to take a different path. There is only one way to go and little by little crossroads open up and it's up to you to take one of the side streets or to keep on following.
If you don't know where to go, you follow the leader. If you have made up your mind about the name of the culprit, you can abandon the leader.
I took more than one side street to get lost hopelessly in the maze. I was grateful to the author for saving me and showing me the way out. I never would have found it by myself. :)
I loved all the revelations. For me this was a very strong and well build story. Loved it. 5 stars

Kate, newly separated from her husband, meets a man at a bar. She goes home with him. She sleeps with him. When she leaves early the next morning, they plan to get together later that day. When she comes back, she finds him murdered. Fearing her past will make her look guilty, she doesn't report it. Now, she feels like someone is out to get her, but who? His wife? Her husband? Someone from her past?
This was a fun, fast thriller. There were a lot of unexpected twists that kept me turning the pages for more.

This was a brilliant read, that dragged me along from the start! I really enjoyed the twists and turns and couldn't put it down. I can't wait for Kathryn's next one!

This book was brilliant! Action packed from the very first page, I couldn't put it down and my mind was everywhere trying to figure out what was going on, accusing EVERYONE. I did not see that final plot twist coming at allllll! I didn't particularly like any of the characters, yet I loved all of them? This book made my head spin and I was on edge the entire time. The way everything tied together was done so well. 5 stars!!

I loved this one! Could not put it down. Read in under 12 hours!! Perfect amount of twists and turns to keep me interested- yet fully immersed in the story! Definitely read this one!!! Thank you for the ARC!!! 🥰
