As I've come to realise with Kathryn Croft it was fast paced, twisty and unputdownable. The complexities and questions hit you from the start...who's telling the truth, who's hiding behind a mask and who can't be trusted for not being what they seem. The story goes back and forth in timeline, uncovering more mysteries and doubt along the way but is easy to keep up with before coming the all conclusive finale.

Its a brilliant murder mystery with loads of drama plenty of intrigue and more than one twist.

I adore this author. Every book I have read from her has given me as a reader a very satisfied reading experience.

This is one of those book you want to see made into a TV drama .. I even thought of who would play the parts..

WOW!! I can’t even believe how good this story was. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

Kate is separated from Ellis. One night she goes out with a friend and meets Jamie at a bar. The next morning, she returns to his place to find him dead. Who killed him?

Kate’s friend Alenna introduced her to a new mother at the school name named Harper. Harper’s son dex starts spending a lot of time with Kate’s son Thomas. But then Kate finds out that Harper was Jamie’s wife. And Kate was the last one to see Jaime alive.. or was she??

There were so many twists and turns. I couldn’t decide who I trusted and when I thought one person did something, it was another person. There was a perfect amount going on to keep me reading. I didn’t want to put the book down. The ending was so shocking but so good, I loved it!

Kathryn always writes the best psychological thrillers! This one was so addicting! I also look forward to reading Katheryn’s books! I love her writing style and how quickly I can read her books!

Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and Kathryn for the E-ARC!

Wow! This is an explosive psychological thriller packed with murder, drama and intrigue. Absolutely gripping, Kate first tells her story to the therapist in 'before' and 'after' episodes. However is she a reliable narrator? What is the mystery surrounding Kate and Harper? The bodies are piling up. No one is who they first seem and each has their own agenda.
This kept me guessing to the end with lots of surprises and twists.
Highly recommended.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of The Last One to See Him. The cover caught my eye, it was interesting, didn’t know how it went with the title but it jumped at me. There was absolutely toooooo much going on, the dates were confusing, too many timelines. I did NOT trust Rowan almost from the beginning, as it turned out with good reason. Kate was a complex character, I never knew if she was the psycho or not. There were toooo many stories and characters that were intertwined BUT in a good way, but also as I was reading it, it was confusing at times. All in All a good read, great wrap up and I’m glad I stayed with it.

If you’re looking for a thriller that will have you side-eyeing everyone in your life, The Last One to See Him is the book for you. Kathryn Croft delivers a deliciously twisty plot full of secrets, lies, and just enough red herrings to keep you hooked from start to finish.

What I loved most about this book was its ability to keep me guessing. The layered plot unraveled at a perfect pace, each chapter revealing just enough to keep the suspense high. Croft has a knack for weaving together past and present seamlessly, and the alternating perspectives added so much depth to the story.

The characters were another highlight. I found myself particularly drawn to Harper, whose complexity and motivations felt so real, even as I questioned their every move. The relationships between the characters were fraught with tension, and I loved how their secrets slowly came to light, each revelation packing an emotional punch.

This book made me feel a rollercoaster of emotions—suspicion, shock, heartbreak, and even moments of hope. I genuinely couldn’t predict where the story was going, and the ending left me reeling (in the best way).

If you’re a fan of twisty, character-driven thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat, The Last One to See Him is a must-read. Kathryn Croft has proven once again that she’s a master of the genre. I can’t recommend this book enough!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy—I feel lucky to have been one of the first to experience this incredible story.

One word…wow!

This book is the perfect representation of a thriller that keeps you guessing the entire time. There were times where I was convinced that I had the book figured out, only to realize that I didn’t. I was suspicious of every adult character and did not see the ending coming!

Kate is a mom that is separated from her husband and she happens to have had a very traumatic event happen when she was 15 and this event is never far from her mind. She is persuaded to go to a bar with a friend and there she meets Jamie, a nice man that she is instantly comfortable with. Little does she know what the near future has in store.

Harper knows that Kate was with her husband, Jamie. As Kate’s works starts to crumble, it’s obvious that Harper would have reason to want to get even with Kate, or is it?

Get ready for a wild ride as Kate navigates a series of events (all while trying to keep her son safe) and has to figure out who is on her side and who is trying to ruin her life.

Thank you, Bookouture, for providing this book for reviewed consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This one had me hooked!
The main character Kate is haunted by her past, a murder that took place when she was 15 years old. Fast forward to present day- Kate finds herself wrapped up in another suspicious murder. Her association with the fatal situation becomes apparent and has everyone second guessing her involvement with not only this murder, but the murder that took place two decades prior.
Each chapter revealed more lies, deception, infidelity, and clues about the past.
No character could be trusted! None of the theories I concocted while reading came to light and I was genuinely surprised by the ending!
You truly never knew where the story was taking you.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quick, twisty thriller!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A thrilling rollercoaster of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. The suspenseful mystery had me questioning every character, sometimes more than once, and was a true page-turner. The dual timelines were an interesting touch, though I felt the breakdown of chapters by days and dates was unnecessary and easy to ignore.

Kate, the protagonist, was a strong and compelling character, and I enjoyed uncovering the story alongside her. While the repeated mentions of an incident from her past were a bit tiresome, I pushed through. Harper, initially coming across as a psycho, became fascinating as her character unravelled—though I never trusted a word she said.

There were a few far-fetched plot points and some unrealistic aspects, like the lack of police investigation, but these didn't detract from the overall gripping narrative. Despite these minor issues, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will look out for more from this author.

A huge thanks to Net Galley and Bookouture for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.

A married man is dead. I was the last one to see him. Just as his wife planned… After meeting Jamie’s smiling blue eyes across a crowded bar, I tell myself, that after my recent divorce, this is the bit of fun that I need. It is the biggest mistake I’ve ever made. Because when I return to his flat the next day, excited to see him again, I am horrified to discover he has been murdered! Great book! This book had suspense, murder, mystery, some chilling moments, and a few crazy twists! The story was interesting! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

The Last One to See Him is about Kate, a Londoner in her late thirties who is in therapy because she's going through a divorce. She survived a traumatic event in her childhood that we don't know about, but it's hinted someone died. One night she goes out with her friend to celebrate her new-found freedom and meets Jamie. The next day Kate comes back and finds him dead. She pretends it didn't happen, and tries to act normal because she's worried her secret from the past will be revealed if she gets involved. One day, she takes her son to a playdate at her new friend's house and realises the family pictures show Jamie! Is this a coincidence or does Jamie's wife know what happened that night?? As Kate gets closer to the truth, keeping her own past secret starts to become more and more difficult...

I really loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery with lots of twists!!

My goodness this book is filled full of twists and turns. What if you spent the night with a married man? You didn't know he was married at the time. Then the next day you find out he is dead. Then you meet his wife. What does she know? Is she gaslighting you? Read on and find out.

Oh my god this book has me lost for words.
I expected a twist but what I did not expect was the amount of twists in this book and you know what it made it absolutely fantastic because you have no idea what’s going to happen and which character to believe. I was doubting each character thinking is to is person telling the truth, and so many times I was surprised, I thought to myself wow I didn’t expect that. It’s like a rollercoaster full of twists and turns. It will definitely have you gripped from that first chapter.

First of all, let’s just say I was HOOKED from only 3% into this book. The amount of anxiety this book instilled in me was through the roof!

This is the story of Kate who had a horrible past and is dealing with the trauma from it all. She maintains her therapy sessions to keep her sane. She has a son and is dealing with a separation from her husband thanks to his infidelity. From all the the stressors in her life, she decides one night to hang out with her close girlfriend at a bar, but then meets a cute stranger there too and seem to hit it off…

Until she finds out that the guy she just spent time with is dead the next day and she can’t help but realize that she was the last one to see him!

I loved the storyline and the characters. It was well written for sure by the author and I will definitely be looking forward to reading more of her books.

Thank you, Kathryn Croft , NetGalley and Bookoutoure for letting me give my honest feedback/review. It was a great psychological thriller which is my favourite genre!

The Last One to See Him by Kathryn Croft is another twisty read from the author that will keep you guessing until the very last page.

Kate meets Jamie at a bar and is instantly smitten and in the mood for a little fun following her divorce. But when she returns to his flat the next day, she is shocked to discover that he has been murdered. Is there evidence to place her at the scene of the crime? And is she, for whatever reason, being set up to take the fall?

I love Kathryn Croft's writing and find it quite easy to become fully invested in her characters and their foibles and imperfections. This is another solid read, and I look forward to devouring whatever Ms Croft presents next.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.
