I couldn't put this book down! The romance is a slow burn, but it’s the hospital politics and gossip that keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the story.
What really stood out for me was the depth of character development. It was clear that personal healing was essential before the relationship could truly flourish, and this made the romance feel all the more rewarding.
If you're a fan of hospital dramas, whether in books or TV shows, this is definitely a romance for you!
Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this ARC.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Love Sick from Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for my honest review, and this book did not disappoint!
We follow Julian and Grace through their intern years as gynecologists, the timeline is noted at each chapter and the flow was easy to keep up with.
To me, Julian=perfection. He is charming, caring, witty, so so smart and everything you could want in a romantic lead.
Grace, felt so relatable. Though I am not a doctor, I found myself connecting with her, especially with everything she goes through with past relationships. It is impossible not to root for her, given all the challenges she faces. The author didn’t shy away from the complexities of these situations, and it made the story feel more real.
While the beginning of the book was a little slow for me, it set the stage for what would come. The dynamic between Julian and Grace at first is hilarious—there’s genuine hatred between them, which makes the transition into something more fun and romantic all the more satisfying. The burn of their relationship is slow, but in the best way. The build-up is totally worth it, and their relationship felt so right. At the end I was giggling.
I also loved the side characters. They were all fun and added something special to the story.
Overall, the concept behind the book was fantastic, and the romance was the perfect blend of humor, emotion, and tension. If you love slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romances with real, relatable characters, this is definitely a book you should pick up!

ahh i don’t know about this one guys :( i have attempted to finish it multiple times and i just don’t see myself gravitating towards this one anytime soon. the cover is absolutely adorable though and i would still recommend, i just don’t think i’m a romance headspace at the moment! i will leave my review here instead of public 💫

I really liked this book!! I enjoyed the MMC a lot despite him putting his foot in his mouth. I loved how fierce and true to self the FMC was. She is such a role model, and she worked hard to show her worth. If you like medical shows, you would enjoy this book! .

I really enjoyed their not-so-perfect meet cute at the party, it was a good setup for the rest of the book. Their “Found this” exchange was adorable and I love the different ways it was used throughout the book. The bickering and the slow burn were just lovely.
Julian and Grace as individuals and as a couple are so freaking adorable! I love them. I also like the mention of real-life issues and how they were handled and integrated into the story. This made the characters more relatable and the story more enjoyable. I also enjoyed the Grey’s Anatomy vibes.

If Greys Anatomy was a book it would be ‘Lovesick’ by Deidra Duncan except less chaotic and dramatic ( in a good way). However, that doesn’t remove the engaging and emotionally resonant romance that blends the high-stakes intensity of medical residency with a slow-burn love story🔥.
Our main character’s Grace Rose and Julian Santini are both trying to fly through a competitive, often toxic, working environment while battling personal insecurities and professional doubts. And in this chaotic pursuit of their residency years they find peace in each other amidst the wacky way of Doctor life.
The chemistry between Grace and Julian was undeniable, and watching their journey from being reluctant colleagues to falling in love despite everything happening at work and in their lives was both heartfelt and authentically beautiful.
This book was more than just a romance. This book also handled themes of gender bias, imposter syndrome, and the pressures of medical training with nuance, making this much more deeper than the swoon worthy romance one would expect—it’s a thoughtful exploration of ambition and self-worth. A book definitely worth the read.

THIS BOOK!
A new favorite romance novel of mine! An amazing debut novel by Deidra Duncan.
This was the perfect combination of enemies to lovers, workplace romance, slow burn, he falls first.
Grace is a first year OBGYN resident in a teaching hospital. She immediately is faced with rumors and prejudices against her on her first day saying she slept her way into the program. Grace maneuvers through these rumors affecting both her job and personal life and the author does a great job showing character development throughout the story. Grace meets Julian, another first year, and they have amazing chemistry but Julian unfortunately offended Grace by putting his foot in his mouth regarding the rumor without hearing the whole story. They quickly become “enemies” but the tension between them!! I was rooting for both Grace and Julian to develop their relationship with each other as well as grow within their medical field. I was obsessed with both of them from the start.
I normally dislike medical romances because they hit a little too close to home for me and normally are far from accurate. But turns out Deidra Duncan is not only a writer but an OBGYN! Can we talk about being a superwoman?! I LOVED the accuracy of depicting the residents every day work life and the hospital setting. Working in a teaching hospital, I was easily transported into this book and may have imagined some residents I work with as the characters LOL. If you work in the medical field and love romance novels, I would 100% recommend this book.
I am so excited to see what other books Deidra Duncan writes! Also, she did depict some nurses in a not so great light but I did appreciate in her acknowledgments calling us nurses “utter gems”, I accept your apology for using a bitchy nurse as a plot device LOL.
Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.

Thank you NetGalley and Deidra Duncan for this eARC.
If you are ready for a super cute, slow-burn, medical romance look here.
When Grace Rose shows up to her OB-GYN intern year, she is ready to put the past behind her and begin the rest of her life. Too bad the rumor mill has different ideas... Julian is ready to fight the stigma he is sure to face as a DO in a predominantly MD world. Will little miss Saphire Grace get in the way of his dreams of positivity impacting women's health?
Loved that this book spanned such a long time in the MMC/FMC's medical career. The accounts they shared were relatable for someone who also works in the medical field.
Deidra- we are ready for Asher's book next, please!!!

4/5 Stars

As a lover of romance and as someone who works in healthcare I wanted to love "Love Sick" but I had a hard time believing that the conflict between Grace and Julian was enough to lead to the enemies-to-lovers relationship between them.
The pacing felt off without well defined chapters or even section breaks, the length of the storyline spreading over the four to five years of the residency may have also contributed. At times it was hard to place exactly when events were occuring as there had not been a clear indication of time and there were major forward jumps. There were also formatting issues with the Kindle version, typos, spacing, etc., which forced me to reread several sections.
Overall a cute story and concept but missed the mark on several fronts.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review.

I really tried to get into this one, but the way it was formatted for kindle made it hard to follow.
There were numerous spelling errors, the first letter of a word would be separated from the rest and it would jump around from the left side to the center to the right side.

This was a cute read that had similar vibes to Grey's Anatomy. The witty banter was great but generally this book is one of those lighthearted ones you can't take seriously or think about deeply- just enjoy the ride.

Oh this was such a fun time. Anything that can be compared to Grey's Anatomy, I'll immediately pick up. Julian and Grace's tension and eventual connection in this book was done so well! I'm typically not the biggest fan of workplace enemies to lovers because sometimes it just feels so one sided but I loved this one so much!! I can't wait to read more books by this author!

I loved this book. Two OBGYN first year residents, two points of view and the perfect story. Grace and Julian hate each other right off the bat due to a misunderstanding. The banter throughout the book is riveting and you never know what they are going to say next. Julian falls hard and has to break through the heartache and layers of Grace’s past. Grace wants to fall but is afraid. I think so many people can relate to having to peel away layers to really get to know a person. I couldn’t put the book dow .

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
This book was cute. It’s an enemies to friends to lovers book. It reads fast and the story moves quickly, but it just didn’t quite rise to the level I had hoped it would. It was good and I think it’s worth reading, but I ended up just liking it and not loving it. It took awhile for the couple to get together and then everything felt rushed once they did. I did appreciate it being dual POV though.

A quick fun read! Definitely felt similar to Grey’s Anatomy but with less drama. All the main characters were very likable and the slow burn between the main characters was magnificent!

This was such a fun rom-com with some serious themes woven in the storyline. Both Grace and Julian were well-developed characters. The setting of hospital residency was realistic and I was rooting for the resident cohort the whole time.
Two critiques: I did not love the very end… like the last conversation between Grace and Julian. I felt like she was mirroring some of the very things that were horrible with her previous toxic relationship.
Also, I would have liked symbolism (*****) when the time or scene changed within a chapter just to make it flow better.
Other than that, the enemies-lovers was well-done with just enough steam. It was fun having the guy be so lovesick for the girl!

4.25⭐️
Love sick was a really cute enemies to lovers doctor romance read. Even when the main characters “hated” each other, they had great chemistry and their relationship was really cute and swoony. I enjoyed the way the story unfolded and having dual POVs allows you
to get to know the characters and watch them grow in an engaging, natural way that made them feel more authentic. This book also brought to light the more serious topics of workplace sexual harassment, how harmful rumors can be, and abusive relationships. I think it was a great debut novel and I will definitely check out future books by this author. Thank you Deidre Duncan, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and NetGalley for the ARC in return for my honest review.

If you like medical tv shows such as Greys Anatomy and ER, this book is just for you! Reading the summary of this book, I knew I would enjoy this book! The story is about two OBGYN interns who at first hate each other, but then learn to rely on one another and be there for each other. It follows Grace an intern who has gone through an abusive relationship and unfortunately starts her residency off with rumors about her - which in turn doesn't help her self confidence. Then there is Julian who initially misjudged Grace and soon develops a friendship with her. Throughout their time through residency, Julian is there to help protects her and be that shoulder to lean on for Grace.
I absolutely loved the character dynamic between the two and the witty banter between each other! This book is definitely a slow burn with amazing chemistry between the two characters. I really felt like I was watching an episode of Greys Anatomy as I was reading the book. I felt like the way the author portrays Grace and the struggles she had to endure, all of us can relate to it.
I don't know how many times I giggled while reading this book. I even laughed out loud so many times that people turned their heads at me. If you get the chance to read this book, you won't be sorry!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Deidra Duncan for the eARC. This is an honest review

This book follows Grace and Julian as they go through their residency at a hospital running rampant with drama and rumors. When a particular rumor proceeds Grace's start as a first year, we watch some Grey's Anatomy-level drama unfold and a hate-to-love romance kick off between Julian and Grace.
While this book was fun, the way the rumor flew around the hospital and impacted Grace's experience there as a resident (and the rumor itself) came off incredibly immature and out of place for a workplace full of highly educated adults. This took me out of the story and kept me from enjoying it most of the time.

I could not put this book down! The banter between Grace and Julian was sooo good, and the slow burn between them was maddening as it built up. I loved the large cast and particularly loved the sense of realism that came from the setting. It was so clear to me that the author knew what she was talking about when it came to residency and working in a hospital. There was a level of detail that you don't really see in doctor-y romcoms that made the story feel that much more real and grounded.
