All My Lies is such a gripping thriller—it had me hooked from start to finish! The story follows Sloan, a super ambitious personal assistant who dreams of being a famous author one day. She works for Barbara, a big-name writer, hoping to learn the ropes. But as the plot unravels, so do the secrets, and Sloan’s ambition leads her into some seriously dark territory.

The twists and turns in this book are unreal. Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, Lamarr throws in another curveball to keep you guessing. The short chapters make it so easy to binge, and the tension builds up perfectly as Sloan’s lies start to catch up with her. Some parts move a little slower, but the ending totally makes up for it. If you’re into dark and twisty thrillers, this one’s definitely worth picking up! I absolutely loved it! Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book NetGalley!

First of all, thank you so much for letting me read the ARC. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the flow kept me engaged. The chapters were short enough that I just wanted to keep reading “one more” - 15-20 more later! There were moments of suspense, many moments of trying to figure out “who did what”, and although I guessed the very last chapter and epilogue (and was right) - it still ended as a surprise. The last few chapters tied everything together. Very well written and enjoyable.

We meet Sloan, a personal assistant to a famous author Barbara Von Wick, and an aspiring author herself, hoping to learn from the best.
But what lengths will Sloan go to in order to get her name on the Bestsellers list?

Fast paced, a sprinkle of humour, short chapters and a Freida McFadden feel (note the name drop within the book!).
I really enjoyed this book and the twists kept me gripped throughout the book.

My first read by Nelle Lamar, but not my last.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow is all I can say, this book took me out of my reading slump. I had switched up genres and could not put this book down, finished in a few sittings. I loved how it mentioned other real life authors of books I’ve read. Highly recommend this book, it’s so good, you’ll be hooked, this is my second book by Nelle Lamarr and will definitely read the ones I haven’t read before, I like how the chapters are short and easy to follow along with all the characters.

This is the kind of book that keeps you hooked. I enjoyed all the twists and turns and the only reason why I kept back the fifth star is that the book is the popular kind of thriller, but all in all it is definitely worth 4 full stars.

Thank you, Netgalley, for the ARC copy, offered in exchange for my honest review.

A Slow Start, But the Twists Make It Worth It

All My Lies took a little time to pull me in. The beginning felt overly descriptive with lots of adjectives, heavy explanations, and more detail than I felt was necessary. I found myself wanting to get past the fluff and into the heart of the story.

But once I hit about a third of the way in, everything shifted. The pacing picked up, the plot tightened, and the mystery really kicked in. From that point forward, I was completely hooked. Nelle Lamarr did a great job keeping the tension alive and the questions coming. I loved the guessing game, trying to piece everything together while still being surprised.

Despite the slow start, the payoff was definitely worth it. If you can push through the wordy opening, you’ll be rewarded with a twisty, engaging mystery that keeps you turning pages until the very end.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A beautifully layered mystery with a rocky start, but once it grabs you- it doesn’t let go.

Nelle Lamarr is truly a hidden gem in the literary world. Her writing is nothing short of masterful, weaving captivating stories with such skill that she deserves far more recognition. This book quickly became one of my favorites—I was utterly hooked from the very first page. Lamarr’s storytelling pulls you in effortlessly and refuses to let go. Trust me, once you start, you won’t be able to put it down. An absolute must-read!

I found the overall plot and concept of this book intriguing, I really enjoyed the short chapters and the many different twists that kept me interested and wanting to read more. I definitely found parts of the plot slow and felt like it did drag at times. I was still interested to know how the story would end and the book picked back up more towards the end. I did enjoy this book as a shorter mystery and enjoyed the author's writing in general.

A up and coming author works for a tyrant popular author. Up and coming author walks into popular author’s house and finds her dead. Then things happen and unfold.

I wanted to love this book so much. I loved the premise and it kept me entertained enough to keep reading it. Buuut the main characters were supposed to be in there late 20s/early 30s, but it felt like they were in high school. The writing felt clunky. It felt repetitive and disconnected.
If possible maybe another edit.

Thank you Netgalley and Inkubator Books for letting me read All My Lies by Nelle Lamarr.

Firstly, I would like to thank Nelle L’Amour pen name Nelle Lamarr and Inkubator Books at NetGalley for providing me with a copy of ‘All My Lies’ for my honest review in return.

Now this books follows Sloan White, the personal assistant to a best selling author but that is until she finds her boss dead. Sloan’s dream has been to become a writer and seeing her dead bosses finished manuscript she decides to take it and publish it for herself. Writing under the pen name S.L Whitman things are looking up for Sloan until she starts receiving threatening letters. She has a secret that she wants no one to know.. but does someone know?

Nelle has done a fantastic job with All My Lies, I haven’t read anything by this author before but I was completely hooked and couldn’t put it down. It is twisty and thought-provoking. Fast-paced with great character development. I really enjoyed this book more than I originally thought giving it a 4 stars but later updated it to a 5. I found Sloan rather funny at times and although I was able to predict one thing there was twists that just blew me out the park. I had to read the ending three times because I was simply in-shock.
(no spoilers you will need to read it to find out) ;)

I absolutely adored the authors letter and I thought it was a lovely way to end All My Lies. I loved every minute of this book and will be reading more of Nelle’s books because she is a wonderful writer!

“Read! Read! Read! And don’t be afraid to write your story.” - Harriet Stratemeyer Adams. This was something Nelle added in her letter when she met Harriet, this was her advice to Nelle and that stood out to me!

I found the book really intriguing! As someone who does love both short and long chapters, these short chapters kept me wanting to read more, that and the twists and turns presented in this book did keep me interested and not wanting to put the book down. Some aspects of the book I did feel like dragged at times, but other than that? I really did enjoy this book, and the suspense that was portrayed really was showcased well.

A truly captivating and twisty thriller! The narrative is brimming with intricate details and an engaging suspense that keeps you glued to the pages. The shocking final twists caught me completely off guard! If you enjoy bingeable popcorn thrillers, Frieda McFadden, and slow burn tension, this psychological thriller is a MUST READ! I can’t wait to check out more of this author’s work!

Truth Will Out..
Sloan, a personal assistant, has plenty to hide. Working for a best selling author, an unexpected opportunity arises which just might have worked in her favour - but has it? Does someone, somewhere, know the truth? Perhaps, Sloane’s life is about to unravel in the most spectacular way and maybe the truth will inevitably out. Immersive psychological suspense with an edge and with twists aplenty, a propulsive plot and an array of well drawn and oft unlikeable characters.
