Thanks to Netgalley for this ARC. All My Lies by Nelle LaMarr is a gripping and emotional read that delves deep into the complexities of identity, trust, and the consequences of deceit. The author weaves a compelling narrative that keeps readers hooked with relatable characters and an intriguing plot. The emotional depth of the protagonist’s journey is well-crafted, making it easy to empathize with their struggles. While the pacing can feel a bit slow at times, the twists and turns in the story make up for it, offering a satisfying conclusion. This is the second book of the author I have read. I liked The Family Guest but I absolutely loved this one!
I am in love with the descriptive style of writing of the author and the dry humor! Though I kinda guessed the murderer, the twists kept me glued to the book, especially towards the end! Can't wait for the next book of hers ☺️
Thanks Netgalley and Inkubator for the early copy!

I’m sorry, but I had to DNF this.

I immediately did not like the writing style (the author is clearly older trying to write as a younger person and that just does not work when you try to add pop culture into it), there were points that I felt were borderline racist (please correct me if I’m wrong but I feel like saying there was no internet and mail service in parts of Africa is just… kinda racist—or at least prejudiced? I don’t know but it made me uncomfortable. She also used a word (synonym for stingy) that was close to the n word and while I know there’s no relation, why couldn’t you have just said stingy?) and I did jump to the ending and epilogue and the epilogue was AWFUL. Also, the main characters inner monologue was redundant and I just couldn’t read it anymore.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author/publisher for the arc!

This was a good, fast paced read. It had its predictable points, but had a few surprises for sure! Very much a Freida McFadden feel, which I love. 4/5 star for this one!

All My Lies by Nelle Lamarr is a twisty, fast-paced thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. Secrets, betrayals, and jaw-dropping twists make this an unputdownable read. Trust no one—especially this book!

Addictive, shocking, and SO much fun!

Wow!! This was one I couldn't put down. Just when I thought I had it figured out things took another turn. Sloane is personal assistant to an insufferable writer. When she finds her deaf after returning from errands Sloane makes a decision that will alter her life forever.

Thank you to the author, Inkubator Books and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. My apologies for the delay in posting, I had several familial health challenges to contend with in the past months.

This psychological thriller is full of twists and turns, grabbing you right from the start - but unfortunately it's all a bit cookie cutter, with everything but the kitchen sink thrown in, I presume to make sure it's thrilling enough. The female main character was obtuse, self-centered and oblivious - very annoying, and the twists and turns were much too foreseeable.

This book fell a bit short for me compared to her other books. It engaged me and kept me reading, but I felt like I could skim over parts because it was just fluff.

I really like the premise of this book from the beginning with Sloane stealing the manuscript from Barbara, who we are meant to hate. While Sloane isn’t the most likable character I have ever read in a book, I did end up rooting for her by the end of this book. Even though we followed these characters over a longer time frame, the pace of the book still felt faster because Sloane was constantly having to look over her shoulder and stayed on edge.

The blurb of All My Lies intrigued me. Sure, I was slightly apprehensive due to the *other* book with a similar storyline, but I enjoyed this one much more.

The writing style and short chapters made this the definition of a page turner. Yes, I had worked out the twist, but i was kept engaged throughout and the ending fitted really well. Plus, the hint at a sequel? Yes please.

I love Lamarr's books! They never disappoint, and every one I've read so far has been five star worthy!

All My Lies was a fast, fun read with dark undertones and is full of unpredictability. It's an enjoyable and entertaining read with books and authors at its core. I loved all the twists, and the ending had me second guessing myself...how do I always get it so wrong?

Maplewood is one of those postcard perfect idylls where you never expect anything untoward to happen, so when it does it leaves the community reeling.

It's pacey, hot on suspense and has a cast of great characters.

Addictive reading!

I struggled getting into this book. I wasn’t able to relate to the main character. Once I got over halfway through the book, the pace began to pick up. I did like how all the pieces came together in the end though to tie everything up.

This book is easily accessible in language, making it a book many people could read. There are lots of twists and turns; some you see coming, while others may surprise you. I found the writing style and language choices to be a bit kitchy, so it was really hard to get into and enjoy beyond surface level. The characters don't have a lot of depth and it's all a bit farfetched. I do love a psychological thriller, so it wouldn't necessarily sway me from trying another Lamarr book in the future, but this one was not for me. Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC

This was yet another in what seems like a long line lately of books about writers who face consequences based on the books they publish.

Sloan starts out as assistant to infamous author Barbara Van Wyck but soon starts the plot in motion by discovering her boss dead and, instead of reporting her death, steals the manuscript to her latest unpublished novel and passes it off as her own.

Her life seems too good to be true for a while as she experiences success in her career and is suddenly reunited with her high school love... until she starts getting notes that indicate someone knows that she is lying.

The first two parts of the novel were pretty fun to read, thanks to short chapters and interesting characters... but then it goes off the rails with a big twist in part 3. I didn't mind the twist in discovering who had been sending the notes, but it just went way too far out of nowhere and the ending did not satisfy me.

Thanks to Inkubator Books for providing this digital advanced reader copy via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

All My Lies was a captivating thriller with an interesting storyline that captured my attention throughout!

The story follows Sloan, as she publishes her late boss and famous author’s manuscript as her own. In turn, she gains the fame and recognition she’s always desired. All seems fine until she starts receiving ominous messages and gifts from someone who claims to know her secret.

I thought I had the ending figured out, but the twist at the end had me surprised!

I recommend this book if you like twisty thrillers, short chapters, & books filled with secrets!

Thank you Kelly Green and Nelle Lamarr for the ARC!

I enjoyed reading this thriller/suspense novel. There were a few spots where it felt like the plot was a bit slow and predictable, but overall, it’s a really good read! I did eventually guess “who did it” before the end, but was pleasantly surprised by the “why” of it all! I really appreciated the premise of book writing throughout the book - it gave a little glimpse into the world of wiring a “best seller” and what all comes of that - the good and the bad. It’s definitely worth the read - go grab it now!
