I first saw the drama a few times ago, which was adapted from the webtoon, and I really liked it. Today I read the webtoon and honestly it was even better. Understanding each one point of view, and I really liked the drawing. We get a better understanding of Sangwoo's personality - which is really autistic coded and I'm a bit sad that they didn't make it official since it would have make a really great confident, official representation of autism.

The main character in this story is amazing at coding and even sees everything in his life like a program—everything has to be done the same way, or it totally throws him off. But then someone new shows up, someone who's interested in him. After a certain event, this guy starts purposely messing with his routine, which really throws the main character off balance. It's a really interesting story about someone who sees the world differently and how he handles change and unexpected emotions. The art is also really well done and fits the tone of the story perfectly.

I love the art style in this!
Some of the things they did to each other were kinda mean, real enemies to lovers set up.
Jaeyoung is actually so obsessed with Sangwoo...
I already have a library hold on Vol.2.

Thanks NetGalley and Yen Press for this arc.

I was looking forward to this enemies to lovers manga so much, but it ends up being more bullying to maybe lovers in future volumes, and that's just not for me. It felt too mean and too mind gamey to be enjoyable. The art is really lovely and I love that it's full colour, but the situations just made me mad lol. I won't be continuing with this series

Sangwoo Choo is a Computer Science major who works hard. He finds himself having to do all the work for a group project and so he cuts everyone’s names from the project entirely―including design major Jaeyoung Jang, which ruins Jaeyoungs plans to graduate and study abroad. Jaeyoung then starts stalking and pestering Sangwooa and an opportunity for them to collaborate on a business project together is lost because the two students detest each other. As they get under each other’s skin, they get to know each other and hopefully we will get to see what happens. This is the first volume and I am intrigued.

Semantic Error Vol. 1 was an entertaining enemies to lovers story. The main character Sangwoo has neuroatypical tendencies in that he needs everything to work like clockwork and have a place. Anything out of place or routine causes him irritation. And nothing is more irritating than Jaeyoung when he and the others don't help with a group project.

Jaeyoung feels all his problems are the fault of Sangwoo and after running into each other he decides Sangwoo wont be able to ignore him. The story is basically Jaeyoung getting on Sangwoos nerves and making him see Jaeyoung. Some of the antics are uncomfy and others are trivial to anyone else but Sangwoo. I'm really interested in how vol 2 will make me feel abou these two men. This story is definitely one I want to continue. I would like to see Jaeyoung's redemption arc and see Sangwoo able to let someone in to his world.

The book has full art and was beautifully drawn. It helped give the story a visual on what was happening. It was fun to read and I very much enjoyed the art.

Confession: I did not download this from NetGalley in time to read it before it expired. However! I have the vast privilege of a robust library system (and one that can borrow from other counties in the state), so I immediately popped onto Link+ and got a copy sent up to me! But what does that REALLY mean? That here I am, sitting in my car reading this volume 1 before it's due, and hoping the security lady doesn't catch me laughing in the driver's seat.

We meet Chu Sangwoo (a guy that's just like me frfr) during his Econ presentation - a presentation his entire group flaked out on, leaving him to do said presentation all on his own. So does he give them credit for being in his group? NO, and not only that, he explains to the professor after just what happened with each of the members that they left him high and dry on his own. (Maybe it seems like a jerk move but honestly as someone who's been left to do the bulk of presentation work, I can only applaud this man.)

Of course the members of his group are affected, but none moreso than Jang Jaeyoung, a college senior who was set to graduate - until the two credits from the aforementioned econ class left him short.

In something that starts off as a revenge story Jaeyoung's inability to graduate, soon we get his POV of the whole situation and that his issues with Sangwoo go farther back than one day of school. So.... sounds like Jaeyoung will have no choice but to remember who he is!

As funny as it is, I'm interested in the characters and am interested as well to see them get together eventually!

Thank you to Yen Press/Ize Press for the eARC in exchange for review!

The script is one of the best things I've found in manga, not only because the story is great, but also because the pace and the panel distribution are easy to follow. There's a lot of development in the characters, their interactions, and the presentation of each of them, to the point that you get immersed just with the first chapter. More than immersed, I'd say; to the point of no return.

I really liked this book! I’ve watched the Korean drama of it and loved to see each of their perspectives in the book, where I couldn’t in the drama. Cannot wait to read volume 2 to see how Sangwoo untangles and understands his feelings better! This is an amazing enemies-to-lovers trope and I highly recommend it!

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and this is my honest review.

I liked this story, although it was uncomfortable at times. Sangwoo was a difficult character to like with his uncompromising manners and inability to handle social situations, which made him come across as rude, but I sympathized with him in his suffering he really didn’t deserve. And the sociable Jaeyoung wasn’t any nicer in how he believed it’s his right to ruin Sangwoo’s life for his own amusement. But it’s interesting to see where this will develop, so I’ll definitely read more. Art was full color and great.

Semantic Error is funny and I’ve actually read the whole thing so I’m really just a super fan here excited that this first volume is being released. I love the dynamic between Sangwoo and Jaeyoung in this first volume compared to what’s to come.

I highly recommend this series, especially if this is a genre you love.

I adore this series, and I'm glad that webtoons are gaining traction in the publishing market. The art is beautiful. The story is precious. It's one of my absolute favorite love stories.

I LOVE this series. SO glad I got to read this once it was published. I first watched the TV show, so my expectations were quite high, and it got archived before I could download it, but reading the finished copy was just as exciting. Can't wait for the next volume!

A really fun colourful read! Angy's artstyle is really cool with their use of bright flashy colours and the coding and computer imagery throughout adds to the story so well. The main characters Sangwoo and Jaeyoung are so awful in different ways to each other it makes for a hilarious time seeing how they drive the other up the wall.

Chu Sang Woo is a very rigid, even obsessive student. One day, he refuses to include students who haven't participated in a presentation. Among them is Jae Young, a design student. He decides to take revenge.
I wasn't familiar with the weebtoon before reading the manga.
I understand Chu Sang Woo's attitude, but his desire for justice and fairness is linked to a very rigid, even obsessive and complusory attitude. He lives by precise habits. This attitude is linked to a difficulty recognizing the people around him. Jae Young is aware that he hasn't been polite, but he is affected by Chu's ability to forget him. This results in a rather strong desire for revenge.
The heroes have mixed opinions about the situation, and their relationship evolves slowly, very slowly. This slow burn suits their story very well and makes their romance, which is just beginning to develop, even more believable.

This was way more fun than I expected! The unexpected and cool representation of autism added depth to the narrative, even if its reliance on the Sheldon Cooper stereotype felt a bit overdone at times. I really loved the art style—the pictures spoke volumes, and the coloring was beautiful. The characters had fun banter, and I especially enjoyed the creative way we were taken into their minds.

First I want to thank NetGalley, the Author, the Artist and the publisher for this ARC.

Somehow I thought this was a BL enemies to lovers....
But the banter is non existing, the loathing is palpable, and Jaeyoung is very annoying, irritating, even disrespectful at times.
I get that that's the point of the story. But still, I mean, it's obvious that Sangwoo has a condition or disorder of some kind, which is no excuse for his total lack of consideration towards other people's emotional well being. But still. The way Jaeyoung is now literally bullying Sangwoo just isn't nice.
He could get so paranoid that he ends up taking his own life accidental or not. I know that is not where this story is going but still.
I see the potential, but this is not for me.

There is also a lot of dialogue or text that doesn't feel necessary to the story.
And although I do like the potential of this story and the art and some of the characters, I won't be following the rest of their story.
