I adore Molly the Maid (who doesn't?) and it was so nice spending time with her, Juan, Mr. Preston, and Gran (Yes - Gran!) once again.
What it's about:
Reality TV show "Hidden Treasures" is filming at the Regency Grand Hotel and has invited staff to bring in items for the hosts to assess for value. Molly assembles a shoebox of her Gran's treasures - a teacup, an old key, and an egg. There's a story and sentimental value behind each of these objects (which we learn about through Gran's diary) but when an item is deemed of significant monetary value threats are made and an item is stolen.
Molly, her loyal friends and loved-ones, and Detective Stark are on the case to find the thief
This story is dual POV and timeline - Molly (in the present) and Gran's diary (in the past).
What did I think?
Gran's story was so interesting & I really enjoyed this piece of the story. I may have shed a few tears a couple of times and I hope that this is not the last we get to read about Molly

I've been a fan of Molly from the very beginning, and I’m so happy to see her story continue! The format of this book was absolutely fantastic, and it made the reading experience even more enjoyable. I really loved following Molly's journey as she starts to experience some new luck. The backstory with her gran and the diary was so well-crafted. And that ending—wow. It completely broke me, in the best way possible. I couldn't hold back the tears. This book has everything I love in a story—heart, emotion, and a connection to its characters.
Highly recommend!
Thanks to Netgalley, Penguin Random House Canada (Adult) & Viking for my advanced e copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is the third book in the series, and even though I’ve only read the first one, I had no trouble following along, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
We’re back with Molly Gray, the ever-dedicated Head Maid at the luxurious Regency Grand Hotel. Things take an unexpected turn when she appears on a flashy antique appraisal show—only to find out she owns a rare Fabergé egg prototype, passed down from her beloved grandmother. Suddenly, Molly is living her five minutes of fame (which she absolutely does not enjoy) but also dreaming of what a financially stress-free life can look like for her and Juan, her beloved fiancé. But just as quickly as the dream begins, it all starts to unravel—the egg vanishes, and in its place, a mysterious note.
As the mystery unfolds, Molly discovers her grandmother’s diary—and this is where the story truly shines. Flora Gray played a huge role in Molly’s life (something I loved in the first book), and this diary reveals so much about her past: her painful childhood, her awful parents, and being forced into a cruel match in a society that valued women for their looks. But hidden in those pages is also a powerful love story—one of those once-in-a-lifetime kinds. And of course, how Flora came to be in possession of the egg.
To be honest, the mystery itself wasn’t groundbreaking—I figured out the key twist pretty early on. Molly’s point of view felt a bit underwhelming for me this time around. But Flora’s perspective and words of wisdom were absolutely moving. Her story tugged at my heartstrings and even brought a few tears.
No, this book didn’t tie everything up in a neat little bow—but that’s what made it feel real. It might not have ended with a fairy tale, but everything landed exactly where it was meant to.
I want to thank NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada for providing me with an ARC.

I LOVED this book! Molly the Maid is back and while she has matured and progressed somewhat, she is still our beloved Molly. The book is told from the POV of both Molly, in the present and her Gran, in the past through a journal she has written for Molly to read when she is ready. The excitement builds early on with the announcement that the TV show Hidden Treasures (the concept similar to Antiques Roadshow IRL) will be broadcast from the Regency Grand Hotel. Molly and other hotel staff are given the opportunity to have their own items appraised before audience members and of course, Molly has some interesting old treasures in a shoebox to show hosts Beagle and Brown. I really enjoyed hearing Flora/Gran's history and how the story flowed back and forth between Molly's present and her Gran's past through her journal. The ever-present humour is often subtle and the love stories are beautiful. I do recommend reading the first two books to really get to know more about the characters and to appreciate them. I like how the characters are developed over the course of the three books and I think this instalment may be the best yet! I look forward to more adventures of Molly the Maid. Big thanks to #NetGalley for the eARC (ebook) and especially to #PRHAudio for allowing me to listen to the #audiobook as #myeyespreferaudiobooks

I really like the Molly “the maid” series but I have to say that “The Maid’s Secret” is the best one. You learn all about Gran and watch as Juan and Molly have their best day. I really enjoyed this book and I loved Grans story. I would recommend reading this book. I received an arc from NetGalley and the views and opinions are my own.

I absolutely love Molly the Maid. Such a well thought out character. I have read every book in this series and I just can’t get enough of her! This books adds humour and continuation on Mollys story.

What a great book
This is the third (or fourth if you count the Christmas Novella) and it was the best of the series, and unfortunately its the last book.
This is Molly and her grandmothers story and how they end up where they are in life and their jobs, add in the theft of a priceless Faberge Egg and the search for it and how it all ties up together gives you a story that will have you hooked from page one.
This is a must read as well as the rest in the series.

A decent conclusion to the Molly the Maid series, although I enjoyed the first two books a bit more. I liked hearing about Gran’s past the most.

I have been a fan of The Maid series since book one came out in 2022. So you can imagine how unbelievably surprised I was to kindly receive an ARC of the newest installment in the series!
I love Molly the Maid. She is one of my favorite unreliable narrators ever. She’s quirky and beats to her own drum, but isn’t one to shy away when unproven accusations are thrown about. In this novel, we see Molly has to yet again balance her job with her personal relationships, and of course, a mystery. We also get a chance to learn more about Molly’s dear Gran - her past, childhood, and personal struggles growing up in a loveless household.
In The Maid’s Secret, we bounce between two POVs - Molly’s current POV and letters written to Molly from her Gran, preserved in a diary for Molly to read when she was truly ready to behold the contents. I did love getting the chance to learn more about Gran’s (Flora’s) background and history, but the Flora of the past is nowhere near the Gran Molly came to know and love. This could be due to the fact that Flora was raised in a household where her family cared about wealth and status and nothing more. I guess this goes to show that one is capable of character development, even in the haughtiest of settings.
The one thing that I found absolutely baffling is that the mystery component took quite a while to happen. The build up is long, contrary to the other novels in this series. I still enjoyed getting the chance to learn more about Flora and seeing the auction storyline involving Molly, but wow, it took a LONG time for the mystery to come about (which is wild, given that this is a mystery novel)!!
I think that out of the three main novels, the first novel is definitely my favourite. I would recommend The Maid’s Secret to avid readers of The Maid series, anyone in search of a cozy low(ish)-stakes mystery, and for fans of Antiques Roadshow.
Big thank you to Penguin Random House Canada & NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of The Maid’s Secret!

Another fantastic addition to this wonderful series! I absolutely adore Molly and her quirky habits, as well as the unique set of supporting side characters. Just like the others in the series, this one will reach every emotion possible. I would confidently recommend this series to anyone looking for a fun whodunnit, with complex characters and well developed relationships.

Once again, Molly has kept me intrigued and entertained while I read her and Gran's story. I love all the vpcgharacters in these books, as they each add an extra something to the tale. These stories have always been entertaining, as is this one, but there is also an extra poignancy to this tale that made it extra special.

Thank you to the author and Netgallery for the advanced copy of The Maid's Secret. I have enjoyed reading this series of books and Nita Prose has continued to excel at character development and intrigue in the newest installment of The Maid series. This is another novel about Molly the Maid and her family including her Gran. This novel explores another mystery and the background story of how Gran became the person Molly grew up with. I truly enjoy the extensive language and Molly's authentic self. I was hooked on this book from the first chapter and highly recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for the ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of The Maid's Secret by Nita Prose. I enjoyed this one. I really like Molly's character in these books. She worms her way into the reader's heart. I also enjoyed getting to know Gran better. My favourite of the series was the first book, this one was a close second. The series was enjoyable and I would definitely recommend this book to others. I would strongly suggest that they be read in order. I gave this one a 4 star rating.

I would like to thank The Penguin Canada Team and NetGalley forthe opportunity to read this book.
This book is the final instalment of Molly, the Maid series. I enjoyed the first two books and was looking forward to read the final instalment. Molly is getting married with Juan and continue to enjoy her job as Special Events Manager. Her life gets complicated when a film crew descends upon the hotel, for taping “Hidden Treasures”. Molly brings one item for appraisal and it turns out to be a rare treasure. I loved the format of alternating between the present day and Gran’s diary entries. Spending time with Molly is always heartfelt and I got to know better Gran. Overall , a good mix of mystery and love story.. Yes, would love to know about her life as a married woman !

Oh Molly, you little gem of a character.
Being in her world, or her head, is the stuff of cozy reading that keeps you entertained. My heart will always love Gran and her little life lessons for our Molly. And this book ties up a few backstory tidbits for fans of the series.
I enjoyed this one but my heart is with the first book. Perhaps that’s a me thing, as I don’t love series unless it’s a 2 book kind of thing, but it was still cozy reading.
Thank you to the publisher for the gifted e arc. Cant wait to see what Prose does next. Hoping she takes a total different swing at a new genre.
3.5 star

Molly the Maid is such a likeable character, I really do enjoy learning more about her. While I felt this book took a while to truly get started, I was not expecting the end result (which is something - I love to be surprised!). I was hoping for a quicker pace, but maybe this was the universe's way of telling me to slow down and enjoy the story. Overall, not my favourite read from the series, but still a great book.

4.5 star
A wedding. A heist. A secret.Molly Gray’s life is about to change in ways she could never have imagined.
An enjoyable fast read in the Maid series if you liked the other books in this series you will like this one.

I enjoyed the third instalment of The Maid’s series and the backstory of Molly’s Gran. The past and present story lines were so well written and kept me wanting to read more to find out what happened. Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for allowing me the great pleasure to read this book to a wonderful series.

Just finished the book “The Maid’s Secret” by Nita Prose.
I have enjoyed all the “Maid’s” books by this author and this is no exception. I find her books are very easy to get into and grab your interest from the first chapter.
The book alternates chapters between the past and the present. The past chapters are all excerpts from Molly’s Gran’s diary.
The book answers lots of questions about the past as well as having a mystery to solve in the present.
I recommend this book and all the Molly the Maid books.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. It was my first Molly novel, and I can see why they’re so popular! I chuckled quite a few times. My favourite parts were from the grandma’s diary, I would have read an entire novel about that love story! It felt more central to me than the whole egg heist.
